Yes it is true that there wasn't an independent Palestinian state before 1948 or ever in history, but there were Palestinians (they deny this too, but it is enough to read for instance the literature of the zionists from the 19th century and onward for example to see that they were there). I am from Iceland and before 1918 there was no independent Icelandic state, but there still were Icelanders. If we suppose a bunch of people had moved to Iceland en masse and set up their state their (with the approval of the UN, but without asking us, and pointing to religious text establishing that they had been there 1500 years ago), we should still have rights to self determination now (if we hadn't got it already) even if there was never a country or state called Iceland.

Contrary to what this guy saays, the Church of the Nativity does not have a huge mosque towering over it. The Mosque of Omar is the only mosque in Bethlehem, and it is a rather small one not as prominent as the church, far on the opposite side of the square. Also the mosque was built in 1860. Nor is there in the google earth images any large amount of garbage lying around.
