Incend shells and fire arrows are the bomb, incend pistol ammo also works pretty well. Incend shells are good because you can just use an eoka if you have to. Lately people have been putting incend rifle ammo in turrets which is genuinely annoying at closer ranges.
If you had chopped out the splitter etc. attached to the battery you could de-power the turret in the core drop.
