In order to be properly fitted for a bra, you're not supposed to be wearing a bra. That can alter the shape and size of your breasts, especially if its an ill-fitted bra, which results in discrepancies of what your actual measurements are.

I get measured while wearing a bra so often, most of the time I go while in my sports bra, I am a 40-44 D, and when I am measured with my bra on I get measured at a C. I have to ask to be measured without a bra, but some stores do not offer that. And sometimes it isn't just being fitted, I've had an issue where some D-cups are smaller than a C-cup and it confuses me so much when I've gone to certain stores as such Macy's or Forever 21, even Target or Walmart the D-cups can sometimes be too small for me and I may have to find a DD or even higher, in some stores a D-cup is too big. It confuses me so much!
What's the point? Like getting measured for shoe size whilst wearing shoes 😂 I appreciate that some women may be uncomfortable or insecure in that intimate situation, but surely its worth it for the sake of getting a comfortable and correct bra for your body!

I'm curious about how different cultures see different body parts as "ideal" too...funnily enough I've always preferred smaller breasts so it was odd to see that all of the girls here expressed the societal pressure of having larger boobs. In the different countries I've lived in, my male friends have always been way more focused on other body parts and I don't think I've met a single guy that would dislike someone based on their breast size. Unfortunate how the perceived pressure leads so many to go under the knife. I guess these types of conversations have too many facets to explore in short form, but I like how you brought up the question of how cultural environments affect how we perceive our bodies.

Much of my upper and mid back pain went away when I finally learned about real bra sizing. And, as someone who has purchased G,H, and I sizes, it's definitely frustrating that you have to go to specialty stores or online to find the size you need. I do pay a lot for bras now, but I try to take care of them and make them last. It is worth it for my long-term health.
They made such a great point about stores not even selling these sizes. Most of the time it's hard to find anything in a D cup that's not something your Nana would wear
Before having my son, I was a 38B. It didn't seem that unusual to me, but there was nothing out on the floor at Victoria's Secret in that size and when I asked the salesperson, they directed me to a drawer with like 4 ugly bras. These days I just wear nursing bras that are sized like shirts in terms of S/M/L/XL, etc. Even though I haven't breastfed in over a year, it's much easier for me to just take the 2X than to look for whatever non-existent cup size I am.

I wish they talked about sister sizes a little bit when they asked if anyone had a different size in mind. Like when Amanda mentioned she thought she was a DD one of her sister sizes is actually a 36DD meaning the cup (DD) would hold the same capacity as the 30G but the band would be too big for her. That would have been a nice educational moment lol. This was a great video though. As a former professional bra fitter it’s nice to see them being open enough to talk about this!

What is the difference between the letters and numbers
@@diamonshade7484 number is the basically the circumference of the ribcage area, and the letters are the cup size
Yeah also doesn’t really make sense why first and second place were the places they were. The girl in first was a 31I, which is about the same cup size as a 42D, meaning that the girl in second does have a larger chest. But as such the misunderstanding that cup size determines how big your chest is continues 😔

Just remember they are going to scale very differently across the world. What these people mentioned in the video as an F or a G is barely a DD in Europe for example. American sizes go up much faster.
The only thing missing is having one woman up there who doesn't wear a bra at all.
I have never worn a bra and I'm about to turn 26 in a few days. I used to get alot of bad comments from women when I was younger because I have a small chest. Sometimes men would make comments too but as long as your confident in yourself that's what matters. I am a size A, braless and still sexy. Small breast woman are still fine. 😘❤

No because, it’s so hard finding a bra that’s not fully coverage and balcony as a 32K or 30N :( I haven’t been under a K since 11 and it’s so annoying that people still think that bra sizes don’t go over a dd. I was always treated differently from other girls my age because I was more developed

I was just telling my friends today that it is an actual for really reals crime for clothing companies to label bra sizes as XS-XL and so on. Each person is so wildly different, from underbust to overbust, body size, breast size, and a lot of breasts aren't even the same size as one another lmao it is beyond ridiculous, and then add that to the fact that most stores with lower prices or easy accessibility won't carry the sizes that most people need.
As someone who is a 34G and actively always looking for something that will fit my rib cage and boobs... a lot of companies now have a curvy size. American eagle, and Abercrombie off the top of my head. So I can get their curvy size Medium and it works! But yes I've never seen them in stores. Always online. And there's so much more that goes into it like you said. Some aren't the same size.

i think a lot of them probably wanted surgery for convenience (i.e. reduced back pain) rather than purely for beauty based reasons but i agree, sexualisation of breats by society might also be a big factor

I had a breast reduction 10 years ago when I was 21, and a 34GG. It was life changing for me on a physical level, as well as an emotional one that I haven’t even really delved into lolll

Last time I got measured for a bra, she was so certain after measuring me that I needed a B cup. We tried on many bras and quickly realized I actually needed a DD cup.
That is crazy that the average is 34DD because it's a stress to even find a D size in most stores. It's part of the reason I stopped wearing bras. It was always so hard to find my size and to find somethung cute in my size without spending an arm and a leg.
I'm actually a 34DD and I thought it wasn't that common but turns out that it sells fast because most people has that size (I go shopping to USA often)
Just look for a 34E.

i am also a big girl with smaller boobs and i like having smaller boobs. makes me feel like i have more options in the clothing department and makes me feel more model-esque since most like runway models have small boobs. my insecurity is in the shape of my boobs and the asymmetry rather than the size
As a guy, I've never understood this omnipresent obsession with HUGE boobs between guys. Like, if it is up to them, they'd like boobs be human-sized on a woman. It's actually so crazy. It feels so cavemen-like to me.
I personally don't care about the size of boobs. Does it feel nice to have like a cute lil hand full in your palm? Oh yeah sure. I just think the size and shape of boobs are such an important part that shape the women's body as a whole. I prefer the synergy between body and boobs, if that makes sense. It just has to look nice to me, regardless of size.

Indeed. As a guy who has met many girls with varied kinds of boobs (one of the girls I met had gigantic breasts and another one had almost nothing) I've come to the conclusion that it's not size what matters to me but rather proportion.

Got to love Camryn's body confidence, and self love! I think she is a great role model for more petite women (and teens becoming women) that don't necessarily have a body that conforms to the beauty standard of countries such as the USA that promote "bigger is better". Contrary to belief among many women, not all guys (or gals) prefer bigger, some actually do have a preference for smaller too. As was noted in this documentary, some cultures such as Japan have different beauty standards, with a bias towards smaller sizes.
