Yeah that baffled me haha. Alisa was the one I couldn't doubt for even a second. If she was the mole I would have felt some real sense of betrayal. But Maura really had me fooled. Actually, what was shown in her reply was not that she didn't know those terms, only that some of the "newer" terms were not around back when her partner was coming out and that she was the oldest there, so again some of the newest lingo was not a major part of her realization. I'm certain her emotion was genuine and probably about the gay best friend that she mentioned at the end... I know I can cry as well when hearing some of the awful things my friends have gone through in similar situations.
Maura did look the most straight out of them though.
I initially thought Maura was the mole when she said that she was the oldest of the group but didn’t know the terms “Bottom, Top, Verse” etc… despite these terms having been around in the LGBT community for decades. It was when she started talking about the struggles her “wife” went through and became emotional when talking about it that made me think she was actually a lesbian.
I was convinced by the end that Maya would be the mole because she mostly used stereotypes when answering questions and made the “Too pretty to be a lesbian” comment regarding Mars, which was surprising to hear someone who is a lesbian say, especially as it’s a term that is heavily disliked by the lesbian community.

I really don't like Maya's mindset on appearance and style and how that defines them as being a lesbian or not. First she said that Mars was "too pretty" to be a lesbian. @@WattPheasant decentralizing men doesn't mean cutting them out of her life completely, it means unlearning the ways that women are trained to prioritize the feelings of men over their own (often as a trauma response) and how being wanted by men is treated like the ultimate marker of worth for a woman. for many women it takes conscious effort to stop living their lives for male approval because it's what we're taught to do growing up.

I KNEW IT! She at the beginning said she didn't know all the new language nowadays, but then said she came out as asexual at 16 y/o but that label wasn't really talked much about in that time! I mean yeah, it could have but it's starting to get more recognition nowadays!
I'm sorry, but no, I thought I was asexual at the age of 14, and that was almost two decades ago.
"Asexual" has been a fairly well-known concept for quite awhile. "Butch" and "femme" have been more popularly used longer than that for sure, though. "Top/bottom" was only used by gay men until very recently, and I still don't understand why young women are using that, unless they have an exclusive strap type of situation.

@@GoddoDoggo I am 40 and remember reading a magazine article when I was 16 regarding asexuality, though it was nothing that was ever discussed at my high school. It’s definitely possible to discover asexuality while not knowing other terms from within the LGBT+ community.
