I went hiking through some area above north fork Santiam after the fire 2 years ago and found the most amazing finds I ever got. But they closed off access to the public not long after and it's still closed off. That is my favorite hunting area also. Plus I always used to look for antler shed's every spring and haven't been able to. I had a huge pile of deer and elk sheds I found over the years but I had to sell a bunch when we needed diapers and formula when I had my kids
The fires are terrible but indeed they do open up great rockhounding! So might as well take advantage of the situation. This was an amazing area, once in a lifetime really I got lucky tip from a friend of mine. I moved away 6 months ago but it’s only two hour drive to get back next spring. Gotta sell our treasures sometimes to provide I completely understand. I’ve sold over and ounce of gold that took couple summers to find.
Man I am so jealous of Oregon. You all got the prettiest rocks, gems. I'm in Indiana and it is flat land and corn for as far as they eye can see. Makes me sad.
It is pretty awesome! Maybe there is some other treasure on your area. Could be old coins, bottles, etc hard to say but I've found different areas almost always have something to prospect! Thanks for watching!
@@rockandfound That's a great question. I get asked about the values ALOT. THE REALITY is they are worth what people are willing to pay but I've rarely sold rocks. Some opals in Idaho I began to sell just because of the demand. I'm a collector for now!
@@Goldhunter7769 same here, I live out here in Arizona and find similar agates all the time. My driveway is completely full now and I was thinking about selling them I just don’t know.
