Queen Mary was built like a wall. Queen Elizabeth shrunk when she got old but Queen Mary was still big and tall even in her 80s.
Because Queen Mary was already tall while QEII was short even before she shrunk
No, it was just that Queen Mary was always tall and Queen Elizabeth was always short. Mary was 5'7", while Elizabeth was only 5'4". Also, Mary was quite a bit more overweight than Elizabeth was, so that makes Elizabeth appear even smaller in comparison.
Queen Mary had the victorian mannerism of a time when ladies, weather standing or sitting, should never slouch. Thats why she always stood upright when she presents herself, even when she was in her old age.❤
...observer any photos of her.
OMG right she's so damn tall
What I love is her royal family wave. Very different and elaborate. 😁
you should check out the wave that Alice, the Duchess of Gloucester did on her wedding day's appearance at the balcony lol these royal women were built different
They wave like that so they’re arm doesn’t ache sometimes times they can be waving for hours
The formidable Queen Mary. The essence of respectability..
She had Victorian mannerisms
@@raraszek Quite so!
Could you imagine her as Harry's grandmother and him making his demands to her? 😳
@@AnnaJo2000 Oh, no!!!
She would have said, "Off with his head!"@@AnnaJo2000
Queen Elizabeth II inherited her Mom & Grandmother's longevity. Long live the Queen.
😢

A happy day to her and to all the Royal Family.
I love everything Queen Mary and this was a joy to see. Thanks for the u-l.
Queen Elizabeth looks just like her grandmother
fr
Mary of Harewood in her later years looked like Queen Elizabeth
Yeah, they look the same, but their height wasn't, Mary was 5'7ft when she was 80, but for Elizabeth she was 5'5 when she was 80
I always her and her genuine royal wave ❤️
"We want Queen Mary" Heck there looks to be more people there to celebrate the Dowager Queens birthday than there were at the coronation
👑Queen Mary...❤🌹🙏🍂🍂🍂Bosnia &Herzegovina
My dear Queen Mary ♥️ God save you 🕊️👑♥️
Wow! She was loved so much!
Happy Bday Queen Mary of Burg Teck.
Queen Mary is 💖
Que linda a rainha Mary. Até com essa idade mostrava toda sua beleza. Acho fascinante a realeza britânica, seus membros souberam conduzir e deixar vivos até hoje esse glamour. Salve a Rainha Elizabeth
That queen wave … “yes, my subjects”
she had only been a Queen Consort and by this time she was a Dowager Queen
but the royal family had the same wave
Her grandchildren, William, Michael and Richard. You can see The Queen, Princess Alexandra and Margaret. Her two sons King George and his brother Henry.
Do you mean Princess Alexandra as in Lady Ogilvy. She was born in 1936. This was in 1947 which means she would have been 11 years old. The child in this footage is clearly younger than 11. I think it may be Richard duke of Gloucester
Queen Mary grabbed a girls hand 1:38 as she was leaving the balcony...I am thinking it was prince Margaret
@@dottygirl6973 no princess Margret was 17 at that time this girl looks like she is 12 there is no way a 17 year old would look like that
@@ebojfmdboojoh4023When they came out on the balcony Princess Alexandra stood next to her Grandmother before moving across to stand with her cousin Princess Elizabeth.
I didn't think the Queen Mary was so loved! 😍
Maria de teck quien logro ser reina ver a uno de sus hijos como rey y a su nieta mayor fur reina madre
who are those two young boys?
Prince William of Gloucester (age 6) and Prince Michael of Kent (age 5).
Q marry is stock and huge for her time, elizabeth was shorter than her quite a bit,
She was 5'7". Queen Elizabeth was only 5'2" and the current queen was 5'4" in her prime.
She 1st cousin once removed for queen Victoria and the same generation of King Edward VII
I was trying to work out who this was. It must have been Mary of Teck, the wife of King George V
Correct
Is that Princess Alexandra that Queen Mary holds on to as she leaves the balcony?
I believe so! There’s actually a really nice photo on the royal collection trust website of Queen Mary with Princess Marina and her children, and Princess Alexandra is hooked around her arm much the same way
Probably not. She was born in 1936 which would make her 11 at the time. Clearly this child is younger than 11
@@ebojfmdboojoh4023 I disagree, I think she looks about 10 which is the age Princess Alexandra would be at that point in 1936.
@@Michael-fv8lg No way is that Child 10 or 11. The child is about 5 or 6 at most.
@@ebojfmdboojoh4023 well, I can’t think of any other grandchildren of that age that it could be, and she looks like Alexandra to me, so we will have to agree to disagree.
Who are the two young boys?
I don't know I thought perhaps Prince Edward Duke of Kent and his brother Prince Michael of Kent. But I'm not really sure
Prince William of Gloucester (age 6) and Prince Michael of Kent (age 5).
@@DukeofDarkCorners prince william (king charles son) was named after this prince william i think
HM Queen Elizabeth 2nd is the same age as me in 2024 in this video🥹
No English Queen before or since, looked as regal.
