That's awesome. I just upgraded to the Genesis II S-310. I was able to sell my Spirit for $300 even though it was 4 years old. Never had a problem with it, still looked very good.
After visiting Lowe's today and seeing the Genesis... I agree. It looks sharp. I bought your grill for $500. I can't believe the packaging. The engineering for this thing is amazing, from the product all the way to the boxes and packaging. We didn't think it was lighting because it's so quiet. Excellent. You're going to love it. One thing. Not sure where you live or the climate, but if you're in an area where it get's cold. Don't bother buying the cover from Weber. The cover is made of a brittle material and does not respond well to the cold weather. After one season, it's already cracked and torn. I'm very dissapointed, it was a huge waste of money. I have a brand new Spirit right behind me right now. This video helped seal the deal. Got free assembly and delivery from Ace Hardware this weekend. Plus a $50 gift card. They installed the grates points up. Flipping after I send this comment.
I just bought this grill last week but havent had the chance to use it yet but I am excited and cant wait to start grilling on it. I too was going to ask about the grates until I read the posts. I guess I installed mine correctly with the flat side up!!!
Dirk - Thank you for taking the time to make this video. No doubt you are very knowledgeable about the Spirit E-310 and I appreciate you taking the time to pass on your observations/opinions. Your assessment was right on target. and reaffirmed my belief that, for the money, this is the best grill on the market. Looks like I'll visit Lowes this week. Thanks again! Rick
Rick Thanks for watching. After having it for a year, everything I said, still holds true. The grill is a sold product. Great quality and construction. Best of luck on your purchase. I'm sure you will love it. Thanks for watching!
Going to buy mine tonight. Thanks to your review. I believe you get what you pay for too. I could buy a gigantic grill from char broil or one of those but the last one I had went out first season. Needed new burner. I am going with the Weber Spirit E-310. Thanks
Just recently bought the same Model. I have BBQ'd and smoke on it. It's the best damm gas grill I've ever own . Only thing is I wish I would have found a E330 with the added sear burner and side burner. Easy to clean, cooks very even and slow, eliminating the grill dance. no flare ups. Love It. Also the grates can be used either way. The pointed side is more for nice cross marks on your steaks. The flat side is better for general BBQing. Good review.
Just got a webber spirit 2 burner , every corner heats perfect so technically it cooks more meat at a time than my old 4 burner Wal-Mart grill. I'm glad I got a webber. Also the grates are reversible according to my manual
That’s awesome. Congratulations on your purchase. It’s a great grill. Make sure to get a Weber cover for it too. Their covers come down past the legs so it sheds all of the water away from the cabinet.
Extremely informative. Lots of stuff I never thought of. Thanks Dirk. You know your stuff. Thanks for doing the leg work. You are so right. You get what you pay for. Thanks!!!
Saw this grill at Home Depot today and was impressed. Your very informative video has convinced me that this will be my next grill very soon. Thanks for posting!
I had similar Weber for 11 years and it is finally giving up...the igniter went first in a few years which is replaceable... things I’ve replaced the most is the flavor bars and grates but overall the grill worked fine... it does get up to temp quickly and it survived outside in northeast weather with a cover....hopefully when I get this one will do well
I bought a Dyna-Glo from Home Depot at a cheap clearence price. I noticed how cheaply made it was as I was assembling it. First time I lit it it went up in flames. I'm so lucky the tank didn;t explode on me. I threw a towel over the tank which was on fire. Took it right back for a refund. I later bought a Weber E-210. The build quality was so much better. Every hole was pre-drilled perfectly. It actually was a pleasure to assemble. I can't say enough about how well it was engineered and packaged. I will never buy another grill other than Weber. In this case, you definitely get what you pay for!
I have one of Weber's Genesis Silver B NG grills. It's going on 20+ years. A few month ago I had to do a refresh on the grill. I replaced the burners & Flavorizer bars. As well as the starter. The parts were inexpensive & easy to replace. I have SS grates, SS Flavorizer bars & SS burners. I paid $550 years ago. It's been the best grill I've ever owned. I live in North Texas & we grill year round. I also bake in my Weber. I hope you have as much luck and enjoyment as I've had with your Weber. Just my 2 cents...LOL
Dirk Diggler I wondered how the newer ones were doing. I had heard that they were made in China. I couldn't confirm that though. Looks like they're still made well. No matter where they're made. LOL
Good video. Bought my Weber Spirit E-310 last week and it works so much better than my Charbroil ever did. My old grill started falling apart ($300 grill) after 2 years. Compare the Weber warranty to the others; that's worth the price difference.
Thanks for the thorough review. I am currently debating between this grill and the Broil King Baron 420. I love the spirit, but I find myself leaning towards the Broil King since it has more power (40,000 BTUs on 4 burners vs. 32,000 on 3) for the same price. After grilling for over a year with the Spirit, were there any times you wished it offered slightly more heat?
I was stuck in the same scenario. The Broil King is a great grill. It reminded me a lot of the Genesis. In the end I went with the Weber mainly because of the great customer support. Broil King was new to my area and i didn't know anyone that owned one but everything I had read was very positive. As far as heat, I've had no issues with it. I cook a lot of NY Strips and Rib Eyes and it will heat up to 600 degrees with all 3 burners on in about 10 minutes. Cooks the steaks perfectly. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps!
Is the slides holding the catch-pan part of the cast aluminum? If not, how is it fastened? Thanks for the Great Video. Almost like I was there inspecting it myself.
Wow, even with the conversion rate that is a quite a shocker. You could buy a Genesis for that over here. Congrats on the purchase and thanks for watching.
I know this is 3 yrs ago but I wanted to say thank you for the info, I just bought one with the 3 burner, I wasted my money on a charbroil 2 burner bec they explode
I am about to buy my 3rd Weber grill. Why? Not because they needed to be replaced, simply because I love Weber grills and I feel they are the best money can buy. I bought my first one probably sometime in 1999 or 2000, I built a new house in 2001, and I know I had it prior to that, just can't remember exactly when I bought it. That one is still working well and I have it at our camp, which I am about to sell and will leave there only because most of the sales in my park include the grill. I bought my Genesis 4 years ago and brought it with me to y winter home in Florida. The only thing wrong with it is a dent in the door that happened when the wind caught the cover and blew it into my neighbors yard. (forgot to lock the wheels) I am in the market for a new one as I purchased a home for our summers up north and will probably buy the 310. Everything in this video is accurate, I can't add one thing. Yes, they're on the pricey side. You can get cheaper grills, and they're just that...CHEAPER. Consider the one at my camp. It is over 15 years old and I would definitely keep it if I was keeping the camp. It still cooks the best steak I have ever had. So how many grills have you bought in the past 15 years?
Wow, I am glad I came across this video. I was looking for a video demonstrating the Spirit E-330 when I came across your video. I am also replacing the same BBQ Galore grill (I think I had mine for 9 years) with the Spirit E- 330 instead of the E-310. Watched both of your videos and they helped me seal the deal. Have you tried smoking anything? Thanks
+Lamar Smith That's great! Glad you liked them. I haven't smoked anything with it yet, but it's on my list of things to try though. I'm going into year 3 and have had no issues with it. Still love it. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
Done! I'm going to replace my old heat plates and burners with a $20 stainless steel rebuild kit from Amazon. And post it on Nextdoor and see if anyone wants it for free. They will need to replace grates or thoroughly clean them. I left it partially uncovered during the raining season and there is some rust on the grates. She served me well but it's time to upgrade to a real grill.
Thanks - great video. Got my eyes on the e-210. Question - you line your catch pan with foil which make perfect sense to me, but some videos say to never line that with foil. I can't figure out why, other than they want you to buy replacement foil ones. Any issues with that?
+Paul Fusari Not sure why. But I've had zero issues with lining it with foil. I guess they just want you to to spend money with them. Lol Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
No companies want you to save money and time. So if you lined the catch pan with foil, that means you won't be buying an original $5 replacement anytime soon.
Funny. I just repaired my dyna-glow with the same type of problem (new burners & covers for $30), I had to use screws to hold the covers on, I bought it 7-8 years ago, will buy a Weber next. Should last 1 or 2 more years max.
I just got one of these at Lowe's which was preassembled and I notice that the knobs are very loose. Little to no resistance and you can just pluck them right off. Do you remember if yours were like that too?
Definitely didn’t have that issue. Mine were firm but not super tight. So when you needed to clean the grill you could pop them off. I would just put a little bit of silicone on the shaft and put them back on. That will hold them on
Hey Dirk just so you know your flavouizer grill is upside down. The grill is meant to be flat on top with tapering down to get rid of excess juice. Congrats on your new weber, got the same one and love it.
Very true , you get what you pay for and if you do not get a grill the quality of this Weber you will be lucky to get a third season out of them the guts turn to dust.
Just ordered mine today. I noticed your grates kind of come to a point. In some of the pictures the grates look flat. Any idea on the difference or what I may be getting? Ordered right from the Home Depot website.
Jason Hyber Pointy side goes down and flat goes up. I had mine upside down by mistake. Congrats on the purchase. You're going to love it. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
Dirk Diggler and Petri Antero same here! This video made me sure of my choice, getting one of these asap! EDIT: After one year of use, do you have any other thoughts about this grill?
The only issue I've had was with the cover which Weber replaced free of charge. I have a video regarding that on my channel as well. Have no regrets with it. I love it and would purchase again without hesitation. Thanks for watching!
it's been awhile since this video...how do you like it now? My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting the Weber, she thinks Charbroil is just fine and it's half the price but I think Weber is the way to go
I'll be making a update video this weekend. I have zero regrets. I would buy it again if I had too. You want me to talk to her? Lol Thanks for watching and please subscribe.
I had my Sears grill since 1984. I have only replaced the fire tubes every other year or so. After watching the video from kitchen review which they gave this product great recommendation ratings. It's getting hard to find the fire tubes and I suspect sears isn't going to be around much longer looking for another grill is on my mind. So I liked the way your grill looks and the positive comments you have for the grill along with the comments below. Now that it is a few years from 2014 what are your comments in 2016? Cleaning, replacing any parts, removing the tank to refill, etc etc. OH OH OH by the way do you know your grills will cook either way. LOL LOL LOL I just couldn't resist that comment. Joke!
+Gregory M Ha! I had too put the caption in, I received so many comments letting me know. lol After 2 years, no problems or regrets. I need to make an update video of it..
Just got a brand new spirit. I bought a char griller Komado when I bought my house 2 years ago and within a year the entire inside of the grill was rusty.
Dirk your thoughts between the spirit line and the genisis. The spirit series has good quality parts and material but, the genisis being the god of grills should you invest in a grill that will out live the griller? Second question, what are you thoughts on the exclusive home depot spirit e3 with the gourmet system. Gimmick or innovation? Thanks, Todd
I struggled between the Genesis and Spirit for about 2 weeks. The main difference between the two is the overall capacity and the Genesis has a killer look with the cabinet design. I ended up with the Spirit just because I knew I would never use the extra capacity of the Genesis even though it would have looked amazing up on the deck. :) As far as the Home Depot version, I looked at that one as well. I would recommend that you take a look at it before you buy it. The grate system is interesting, but I don't think I would ever utilize it. Also, the door on the cabinet is different and honestly it feels like it's made out of plastic and would break within a year.
I don't understand why add a cool feature like a gourmet system only to down grade the door to a flimsy access panel. I might be the price point they tried to stay to. I think the spirit series is good enough for me I don't think a side burner is a must. I think they have a model with a "sear" section again gimmick? I want to stay around the $500 range so the 310 or 320 might be the way to go.
Todd Saccullo I've had the side burner on my past 2 grills and I think I've used them twice so it wasn't a feature I was looking for. Regardless of the model you go with, you'll be happy to be grilling on a Weber.
Yeah I thought I thought of that too. I'm thinking 320 then buy the accessories separate over time. I checked it out again and the mesh door is just not weber. Tell me PlanetWasabi.com how it turns out.
I am trying to replace the igniter kit on this grill and the part does not fit. I have the model 7510 replacement part. Is there a different part for this grill and I am just not finding it? thank you.
One thing he didn't cover is how the Weber uses an actual replacable fuel line to connect between each burner. My Brickman uses a sheet metal rail system that rusted and broke off. I had to actually rig them up with aluminum foil so that when I light the grill the fuel makes it to all the burners. Its either that or spray cooking spray between the burners to carry the flame over. I am torn between the spirit and the genesis. Don't know if the genesis is worth the $250 more. Can anyone shed some light on the key differences? I rarely cook for more than two, but is size the only difference? Your thoughts are greatly apprecieated.
Thanks for watching! It all comes down to your needs as far as the Genesis. I was concerned about the capacity from the Spirit as well. However I've had a bunch of cookouts and I've never had an issue of not enough cooking area. No doubt the Genesis is a beautiful grill but you need to weigh the cost versus your needs or are you just buying it as a trophy piece. LOL
I have a weber baby Q (which i love) I've just moved into new house (from apartment) so way more room. wanted to get a weber family Q. how does this Spirit compare? I can get this "free" with Credit card points so not sure whether Family Q or Spirit
Just a tip. You appear to have the grill plates upside down ie 'pointy side' up. They should be 'flat side' up. Just look at the pictures on their website and you will see what I mean.
Mark Anderson You're totally right. I also got the same grill as the guy in the video and set the plates pointy-side up. Then I saw your comment and looked at Weber's website, and sure enough it's supposed to be pointy-side down!
I need to put a notation in the video that I was told by about 60 people that the grates were upside and has since been corrected. lol It's nice that so many people are paying attention to the details. Thanks for watching!!!!
I just bought my second Weber grill just like yours. One thing I noticed was the grates made no sense with the points up and corrected it before the first grilling. Then I noticed 50% of others on you tube were dong just what you did at first. lol. What I like most are the burners are horizontal rather than vertical like my Genesis was. This makes direct and indirect cooking so much better. It's a 15yr grill I can say that.
The aluminum box is the a problem. After a year of use we turned it on and flames came out of the box where the burner tubes go in next to the knobs. This melted a substantial hole into the aluminum. When we put the fire out it stained our deck and melted metal and plastic into it. Weber will not cover damages and they replaced the minimal parts to get it working but left all the metal parts that had the paint burned off. call customer service at weber and ask them if they are familiar with the aluminum tubs failing.
thats great to hear. i go through a brinkmann or chargriller grill every 3-4 years. its so scary to pay double what youre used to. I am looking at the Genisis 330 because i need a side burner to light my coals for my smoker. you getting any rust on your spirit? Ive heard 2 issues with the spirit. Rust, and the smoke stains dont come off with cleaning.
+Choras Den No issues with rust at all. I just cleaned the grease pan about 2 weeks ago to clean it and no problems. Cabinet is still in great shape as well. As far as the smoke staining the stainless steel. The trick is to use cleaner after every use and it helps to knock it down and manage it.
Dirk Diggler Thank You for your review - Just about to fire mine up for the first time and I had them upside down also! So far I like it. Very straight forward to put together.
So I have a Weber that is called a "Flat Top" that I bought in the late 90's. I'm only looking at this because I'm thinking that I'll replace it. The one I have has been excellent and still works but is getting pretty tired. To buy this model in Australia costs $1000.00. WTF? The original one was about a grand and I'll probably fork out for another one but the fact that it costs double down under really rankles.
brendan boys Just bought one today from Capalaba QLD, an E-310 model, $999.00 that's right, I'm from Australia too. Had to order and wait for it to be delivered to the Webber Agent then I can pick it up myself and assemble it myself, and that's despite the Aussie Webber web site stating clearly that delivery and assembly is included in that price. Gouging all round is my assessment, and even the official dealer has no problem ignoring the Webber site promise. I believe from various sources that the company is very good on warranty and back up for what appears to be a quality product.
I got the BBQ Doctor in and it worked a treat. The cost was around $270.00 and it's as good as - not new, but fully functional and perfectly acceptable. Not bad for a 20 year old barbie.
i'm laughing at all the comments about the grates being upside down. i would've never known without these videos or webers website. all the pre assymbled grills in the big box stores have the pointy side facing up. i got mine still in the box so i could build it myself. flat side of the grates are up. haha
rub the stainless down in WD-40. all your kitchen appliances also. the smell goes away quick and it makes the finger prints disappear and shines like new.
When you buy a cheap grill you know you’re getting a rust bucket. You can count on it lasting at a rate of about 1 year for every $100 you spend. The biggest problem with cheap grills is they cook poorly even when they’re new.
The cart is brittle. Be careful not to let drippings fall through to the bottom or it will rust out. Also keep your crossover tube clean with a wire brush or it will corrode. Other than that it's great.
nice review my fellow weberbro, Im pretty sure you have the wrong side of the grates facing upwards. please look the other way if it's intentionally ;)
I was just wondering, it says in the manual for my country, 5-6 kg gas tank is the max in the cabinet. Witch seems a bit strange. Maybe our gas tanks are taller shaped.
to be honest, your old grill , there doesn't look like anything wrong with it to actually toss it, if your replacing it with a weber that's very cool but it should be denoted you just want a weber maybe actually over your BBQ grill,, on my older model Kenmore I cut a piece of 1/16th inch metal to replace the bottom then made flavor bar on the bottom to vaporize all dripping under the burner I cleaned the old grill and turned it into a rotisorrie grill ,, I do have a weber spirit for fast cooks and love it, but these older grills are very workable, mine is 12 years old, my weber is 4 years old
It was much worse than the video showed. The legs had completely rotted and was no longer stable. The whole thing racked when you opened it. It was donated to my buddy who recycled it for scrap. Thanks for watching.
Great review, love my Weber. Dumb observation- I noticed you lined your drip tray with foil, which I think is a good idea but on the Weber CZcams grill cleaning video, it says to never line the tray with any type of aluminum foil. Can you comment on why they would say that? Thanks again.
Wayne Mask Likely because Weber sells 10 packs of reparable drip pan inserts that look like nothing more than very thick foil. I bet heavy duty foil would work fine but I have not tried.
30 dollars I'd have that old grill looking and running like new some ppl I guess don't understand how ez it would be to fix. But I don't but cheap grills I just keep the good ones running 20+ years
Your grates are on upside down. The flat side goes up, resulting in wickedly good searing for your steaks :) And no, they are not meant to be turned upside down. But to each their own (I read the rest of the comments and now I am going to leave this here for comic effect. haha ). I have three Webers; A Silver A two burner at my father in laws which is 17 years old, a Genesis three burner that's 19 years old at my father's house, and my grill, one I bought new, a Silver C, 17 years old. I bought the other two and restored them each for less than $120. Yes, they last, and yes, they cook fantastic! When it comes to my replacing the old Silver C, I will be split between the Spirit or the Genesis. We shall see.
+bechtoea These model Weber grates are not flat on the bottom. They are shaped just like the larger flavorizer bars that cover the burner tubes below the grates, like this ^^^^^^^.
Your grates are upside down. And the handle is plastic because it doesn't conduct heat. And Home Depot sells both versions of the grill -- with the door and one with screen, which has removable circular grate and cast iron cookware (skillet, wok, and pizza stone).
I've seen full aluminum cast hoods cave in because people have turned up the grill to burn off the grill grates and they over heated. Be diligent in the safety department. Seen plenty of charred siding or melted vinyl siding because of the proximity.
This particular unit is much better than the Spirit II E-310, everything looks significantly cheaper on these newer Weber units, besides perhaps the Summit series.
This is the best review over CZcams! Thanks!
Excellent presentation, Very helpful. I'm sure your quite the cook as well. Keep the great videos coming. informative and well researched.
Thanks - Glad you liked it!
Just bought this beast today... I'm stoked! Great video.
Thanks and Congrats...Grill on!!!
Nice review and Go Pats!
Just bought this grill. Looking forward to grilling with it. Looks like I made the right purchase.
Go Pats!!! You get the gold star for noticing the utensils. Congrats on your purchase, You're going to love it.
You are exactly right on all accounts. I bought my E-310 in 2013 and haven't looked back. The warranty is enough to justify the expense as it won't be done till I am retirement age.
Excellent video! :)
Thanks Mike!!!
Had this grill for 5 years. Replacing the flavorizer bars now for the 2nd time. That's the only thing that it has needed. It still cooks like a champ and looks almost new. I just bought this grill last week but havent had the chance to use it yet but I am excited and cant wait to start grilling on it. I too was going to ask about the grates until I read the posts. I guess I installed mine correctly with the flat side up!!!

+1timby Thanks for the feedback!!
I use mine about 2-3 times a week, Still have zero complaints, best thing I've ever purchased,
Dirk Diggler I wondered how the newer ones were doing.
Thanks and congratulations on your purchase. You're going to love it. I have no regrets,
Just saw the E330 at Orchard Supply. They pay the tax this weekend. Your video pushed me into getting this BBQ

The rails are separate aluminum extrusions that clip into the bottom of the bowl.
Thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked it!
Hi Dirk, just got one of these and also love it. Here in the U.K. though they are £500 that's about $830. So you got a bargain!

Why? Not because they needed to be replaced, simply because I love Weber grills
and I feel they are the best money can buy. So how many grills have you bought in the past 15 years?
awesome!
Thanks
+Lamar Smith
That's great! Glad you liked them.
I haven't smoked anything with it yet, but it's on my list of things to try though.
I'm going into year 3 and have had no issues with it. Still love it.

+Lamar Smith
I put the old grill out on the curb with a free sign on it and it was gone within a couple of hours. Lol
i bought one of these and I've had it for less than a month and I've used it like almost 10 times already. love it

Thanks - great video. Got my eyes on the e-210. Question - you line your catch pan with foil which make perfect sense to me, but some videos say to never line that with foil. I can't figure out why, other than they want you to buy replacement foil ones. Any issues with that?
+Paul Fusari
Not sure why. But I've had zero issues with lining it with foil. I guess they just want you to to spend money with them. Lol

No companies want you to save money and time. So if you lined the catch pan with foil, that means you won't be buying an original $5 replacement anytime soon.
Great video!
Thanks!
Funny. I just repaired my dyna-glow with the same type of problem (new burners & covers for $30), I had to use screws to hold the covers on, I bought it 7-8 years ago, will buy a Weber next. Should last 1 or 2 more years max.
I did the same thing about a year before and it still rotted out.
@@StreetersGarage Not surprised. Definitely a Weber next. Thanks for the video.

Already fixed it. Someone else pointed out the same thing. :)
This is not true. The grill grates are designed to be used both ways and not just one way!
Can you put tin foil on the Catch Pan like you would the drip pan??? That would save a ton of time cleaning as well.
You could but its not recommended from Weber
Dirk you should make a video showing how the Weber 310 grills on a hamburger, Hotdog, etc
Dan Livni I have the 310 genesis series. love it. brought it to a big get together and we had about 30 patties on it at the same time.💪👍👍👍👌👌👌

Dirk Diggler and Petri Antero same here! This video made me sure of my choice, getting one of these asap!
EDIT: After one year of use, do you have any other thoughts about this grill?
The only issue I've had was with the cover which Weber replaced free of charge. I have a video regarding that on my channel as well.

it's been awhile since this video...how do you like it now? My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting the Weber, she thinks Charbroil is just fine and it's half the price but I think Weber is the way to go

Joke!

Yes. Great for tailgating. That’s about it.
Just got a brand new spirit. I bought a char griller Komado when I bought my house 2 years ago and within a year the entire inside of the grill was rusty.
Awesome. Congratulations!
Thanks,
Todd
I struggled between the Genesis and Spirit for about 2 weeks. The main difference between the two is the overall capacity and the Genesis has a killer look with the cabinet design. I ended up with the Spirit just because I knew I would never use the extra capacity of the Genesis even though it would have looked amazing up on the deck. :)
As far as the Home Depot version, I looked at that one as well.
PlanetWasabi.com
Why not get it at lowes or HD that way you know it's good to go. Did you get a deal on it?
I am trying to replace the igniter kit on this grill and the part does not fit. I have the model 7510 replacement part. Is there a different part for this grill and I am just not finding it? thank you.

Great video. Can you connect your Weber to natural gas and not use propane?
Yes I'm pretty sure that Weber sells a conversion kit to natural gas.
Cool, thanks!
Can you put rotisserie grill there in your weber to cook a whole chicken thanks
Yes you can. Weber sells it as an option.
what do you do when the underneath part of the lid begins to peel?
It's porcelain coated on both sides so unless it gets above 1800 degrees it's not happening.
Thanks for watching!
LOL
@Stickto What grill did you end up buying? Are you still happy with it? I'm also torn between the Genesis & Spirit. Thanks!
I have a weber baby Q (which i love) I've just moved into new house (from apartment) so way more room. wanted to get a weber family Q. how does this Spirit compare? I can get this "free" with Credit card points so not sure whether Family Q or Spirit
I would go with the Spirit over the Family Q. It has more surface area and you would have more flexibility.
Thanks for watching!

Nice score! You're going to love it.
$200 for a Weber? Awesome!
How has it help up until now? It’s been six years
Whats the difference between the spirit 310 and the genesis 310? Is it worth the money extra for the genesis?
Yes it is, I moved up to a Genesis about 4 years ago.
I like that Pats Spatula
Thanks!
I need to put a notation in the video that I was told by about 60 people that the grates were upside and has since been corrected. lol
It's nice that so many people are paying attention to the details.
You can use both sides of the grates. Pointy side up allows you to get those nice grill marks on your meat
I thought I read somewhere that the grates could be used either way. That they were reversible, depending on what you desire. Is that not true?
The aluminum box is the a problem. After a year of use we turned it on and flames came out of the box where the burner tubes go in next to the knobs. This melted a substantial hole into the aluminum. When we put the fire out it stained our deck and melted metal and plastic into it. Weber will not cover damages and they replaced the minimal parts to get it working but left all the metal parts that had the paint burned off. call customer service at weber and ask them if they are familiar with the aluminum tubs failing.
Never had this issue.
Just bought this grill for $50 at a garage sale. What a steal.
Sweet Deal!
Got mine for 50 as well in mint condition.
Great deal.
The grates R not upside-down. The flat side is used for hamburgers or anything that you don't want grill marks on.
someone gets it
The hotter the grill the better, but I prefer them with 3 different size exhaust holes, so there is more variety to have fun with.
Yes. I need to pick up a Kettle and start playing with it.
A decent review and everything else.
Thanks!
Just ordered my E-310. My meat thanks you.
Congratulations. I just put on the second tank of the season.

Hi. Do you still have this grill? Still in good shape? Any parts replaced yet? Thanks.

@@StreetersGarage Thank you sir. I have been looking at a lot of reviews and they are all pointing me in that direction.

thats great to hear. i go through a brinkmann or chargriller grill every 3-4 years. its so scary to pay double what youre used to.
Great review but I believe your grates are upside down. I checked on the Weber site and they show the grates turned with the flat side up
You're right and about the 20th person to tell me. Lol
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Dirk Diggler Thank You for your review - Just about to fire mine up for the first time and I had them upside down also! So far I like it. Very straight forward to put together.
The grates are reversible. You can use either side. The thin side, the gaps are wider; as for the flat side, the gaps are narrower.
My review:
I have one. It is fucking great. Buy it.
Pretty much nailed it!
Ariel Wollinger any baby grills running around?
You can use soapy water to clean the grill, then coat it with some cooking oil. This will lubricate the metal areas from rusting out.
Yep
So I have a Weber that is called a "Flat Top" that I bought in the late 90's. I'm only looking at this because I'm thinking that I'll replace it. The one I have has been excellent and still works but is getting pretty tired. To buy this model in Australia costs $1000.00. WTF? The original one was about a grand and I'll probably fork out for another one but the fact that it costs double down under really rankles.
Wow, that's a huge markup.
Welcome to Australia
brendan boys Just bought one today from Capalaba QLD, an E-310 model, $999.00 that's right, I'm from Australia too.
Not bad for a 20 year old barbie.
i'm laughing at all the comments about the grates being upside down. i would've never known without these videos or webers website. all the pre assymbled grills in the big box stores have the pointy side facing up. i got mine still in the box so i could build it myself. flat side of the grates are up. haha
It’s “Grate” isn’t it. Lol
how is the Weber doing now

The grill grates or upside down! The flat side should be up.
yep
rub the stainless down in WD-40. all your kitchen appliances also. the smell goes away quick and it makes the finger prints disappear and shines like new.
Haven't tried it yet, but I've heard that mineral oil is a good, non-chemical, alternative to use on SS too
Ok
Plastic side table instead of stainless would melt if something hot was put on them.
Maybe.
When you buy a cheap grill you know you’re getting a rust bucket. You can count on it lasting at a rate of about 1 year for every $100 you spend. The biggest problem with cheap grills is they cook poorly even when they’re new.
Absolutely correct!
The cart is brittle. Be careful not to let drippings fall through to the bottom or it will rust out. Also keep your crossover tube clean with a wire brush or it will corrode. Other than that it's great.
No issues with everything you mentioned

nice review my fellow weberbro, Im pretty sure you have the wrong side of the grates facing upwards. please look the other way if it's intentionally ;)
Thanks!!!. Yes, I noticed I had the grates upside down as I was filming..LOL.
Dirk Diggler hahaha super :) can aske what size gas tank you are using?
Sune Jepsen It's just the standard 20lb propane tank. Nothing special.
I was just wondering, it says in the manual for my country, 5-6 kg gas tank is the max in the cabinet. Witch seems a bit strange. Maybe our gas tanks are taller shaped.
Sune Jepsen I believe they are.
to be honest, your old grill , there doesn't look like anything wrong with it to actually toss it, if your replacing it with a weber that's very cool but it should be denoted you just want a weber maybe actually over your BBQ grill,, on my older model Kenmore I cut a piece of 1/16th inch metal to replace the bottom then made flavor bar on the bottom to vaporize all dripping under the burner I cleaned the old grill and turned it into a rotisorrie grill ,, I do have a weber spirit for fast cooks and love it, but these older grills are very workable, mine is 12 years old, my weber is 4 years old
It was much worse than the video showed. The legs had completely rotted and was no longer stable. The whole thing racked when you opened it.
It was donated to my buddy who recycled it for scrap.

It could catch fire and melt.
30 dollars I'd have that old grill looking and running like new some ppl I guess don't understand how ez it would be to fix. But I don't but cheap grills I just keep the good ones running 20+ years
it's in the junkyard
@@StreetersGarage lol I love when someone replies to my 7yo comments. It's like a flash back to the past. I wish I could go back to then
Your grates are on upside down.
My owners manual says I can use the grates both ways. So there's no wrong way
love it
Your grates are upside down. And the handle is plastic because it doesn't conduct heat. And Home Depot sells both versions of the grill -- with the door and one with screen, which has removable circular grate and cast iron cookware (skillet, wok, and pizza stone).
Good review by the way. Thank you. I'm buying one today -- the standard E-310 with the normal grates and door.
Fixed the grates after I filmed it. You're not the only one to catch it. LOL
I would still prefer the metal handle like the one on the Genesis.
I've seen full aluminum cast hoods cave in because people have turned up the grill to burn off the grill grates and they over heated. Be diligent in the safety department. Seen plenty of charred siding or melted vinyl siding because of the proximity.
