In this video, Janek Gwizdala talks a bit about music theory and shares some practicing ideas based on 'root, 3, 5 and 7' notes. He also talks about playing music in general.
To your first section, recording volume is fine. To your second section, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. TURN UP THE VIDEO VOLUME. IT'S CALLED POST-PRODUCTION. IT IS VERY SIMPLE TO DO.
I did not know a bass with 5-6(?) knobs and PRE-AMP is not colouring the sound....hmmm. Still stick with my passive basses anyway... Very informative video.
Quit whining at the shooter. The problem is that Janek is speaking at a wide variety of volumes, sometimes into the mic and sometimes not. I am not having any problem hearing all of it after I turn up my speakers a little. It's a high fidelity recording, and if your system doesn't have enough gain to play it, that's your system's fault. What would improve it in post is perhaps a little compression/expansion, but it isn't necessary at all unless you're listening on two bit speakers.
Janek is AWESOME!!
Man the tone he has while playing chords is so NICE. Very round, sweet sounding, and articulate!
Thats what I love about Janek. Forget all the extra, lets get to the music.
Well said!
I'm talking about him speaking as well. The thing is, the volume is too low. You can adjust a videos volume after it is made.
Wow! Everything changes.
Question is 212 speakers enough to gig in party?
@GiantPandas - Agreed. And having a Fodera is like having a Bugati Veyron.
He is so cute! and a great bass player apparently! :)
@alexbassguy1 wrong. Fodera is like owning a jet.

Mic doesnt pick up the low freqs
It grows on you. I hated it until I kept seeing him play it.
Can you guys use a standard gain when uploading these videos? He is seriously hard to hear with my system turned up all the way.
I'm talking about his voice!
@HammondB200
scuzi, wrong post
@GiantPandas
how is that relevant?
@ghddtttty
how is that relevant
Isn't communicating verbally also communicating sonically?

that bass is ugly, but it sounds wicked.
