    For anyone watching this, the 30 round magazines don't really drop free is due to a built in interference fit on one of the engagement surfaces inside the gun. If you want them to drop free there's a particular section on the back of the magazine that you have to round off with a file to get them to drop free.

    As a child of the 90s, I personally found the Scorpion EVO to be confusing due to its hybrid controls inspired by both MP5 and AR platforms. Since I'm more familiar with ARs, I opted to build an 9mm AR PDW and denied myself options in favor of consistency.
    I appreciate this video because it skips the use of the EVO's charging handle altogether in either reload method. From my experience, it is possible to lock the bolt using the charging handle then find that you can't release it using the bolt release.
    The tentative conclusion is that a shooter who is dedicated to either MP5 or AR TTPs will find the EVO usable with their current methods, but that a shooter who has spent time with both could hit a few snags.

      If you put the charging handle on the other side, it's actually very similar to SIG rifles like the 550 series. Even the bolt release isn't a paddle like an AR but more like a lever like the SIGs.
      Of course you can't use the bolt release once you've locked it back with the charging handle in the up position like an HK. Like all weapons, you familiarize yourself with it and run it in practice and through drills. One mind, any weapon

      The only way to truly train for searching for more threats is in force on force where you can move to cover and also learn to recognize dangers 360. I get why looking back and forth is considered better than nothing, but I see a lot of people who do the scan in airsoft simulations and they look directly at a threat, and just keep scanning while standing in plain view. I suppose it entirely depends on if the individual takes his scans seriously or not, but to me I think there is no substitute for force on force training. Personally I don't do the scan at the range since I won't be looking for anything, but I do do it at home along with a chair to simulate a barricade when dry firing where I have targets pasted on the wall with a "lucky charm" style numbering and depending on what I drew before starting the drill, they represent threats or not.

    Are u allowed to put a vertical grip on a scorpion or do you have to fill out a form with the atf because that’s what I had heard

    • @coletam
      @coletam Před 3 lety

      He has a a registered SBR - in general no you cannot put a "vertical" grip on a pistol or a shorter than 16" barrel rifle. "Angled" grips or "Hand Stops" on the other hand is good to go. On that note, there is much discussion (which you can google and find forums, reddit etc) on whether that particular BCM (Bravo Company) "Vertical" gunfighter grip can be put on SBRs or pistols due to it not being "90 degrees" from the bore, which is what the ATF defines as a vertical grip - a dumb law to begin with, but its Big Brother rules and they are not your friend (If you note the slight angle to that grip, it is either 89 or 91, but not true up and down 90 degrees). The problem is, literally in the product name, it says "Vertical" grip, which you probably don't have much of a case to stand on and defend yourself, as well as BCM itself most likely will not back you on that either and stick by their product being a "Vertical" grip. It's up to you if you want to "roll dirty", which I'm sure others out there probably are doing. It just comes down to do you believe you can confidently argue your case should you ever be put in a situation where the status of that weapon ever be questioned. But there are "cut" or "chopped" examples where people have modified the BCM to be in a hand stop, shortened down form factor. As well as look up Ivan Tactical, and the ZenitCo RK-6 handstop - I know a convulated, roundabout way having to source a part from overseas or if you can find a retailer stateside that has it. But note how it's shaped, and how it's named. Big goof on Bravo Company's part, for not naming it "angled" grip or some other loophole terminology.
