That is the prettiest boy I’ve ever seen
Yes. He is. He has a very distinct face.
He looks like Cecily Strong if she were a man (or had a twin brother).
For real omg 😭
Have you seen Marcelo??
@@jason_always_painting3994 omg yes!!! That dude is not only hilarious and beyond talented - but he is also so hot and he totally seems like a genuinely kind person
literally saw his career go from the improv club to here. so stoked for him!
unilaterally nah maybe no in literati!!
ha
SO
Fun
Dude, ditto! I searched him after digging his standup, and seeing him suddenly on SNL was so the opposite of wtf.
Same
Yeah, same. I was watching his stand up shows for a while and now seeing him on SNL. Wow. So proud of him
I'm sorry that we lost so many legends last season, but it's nice to see talented new cast members fill their places. SNL has been the starting point of so many great carriers; it's fun to feel like we get to witness the start of another.
They aren’t legends .. the legends are from the 70’s- 90’s
Clare :
You are miserably honest .... and i h8 ewe .
LMFAO
💯
It was bound to happen. They kept largely the same cast for what must have been five to seven years. There was bound to be an eventual departure
I was thinking the same thing
He did well! Very nice delivery, and he was clearly having a good time while doing it. Excited to see more from him!
It’s woke garbage
Nice screen name, incel.
@@Bidenfriend You shouldn't put your fantasy in your name.
This
He's was a talented comedian well before this. Look him up.
He’s like a Pete and Mulaney combo with a little Norm thrown in and I’m all for it.
He's the only newbie that I actually like
Don’t disrespect him like that. He’s much funnier than Pete.
I think he looks like Cicely personally.
And Lyle the intern
@@quackster8295 ong
This was an incredible debut for michael I can wait to see more of him
I could wait forever to see more of him.
This was horrible.
He’s the only one that could fill Aidy’s vacuum of Arizona energy.
And Pete’s role as resident young person
Will we ever hear ANYONE say "look at the depth of col-our!"again...I think not.
@@carloschambers8423 Haha!
:) In the proud Arizona S.N.L. tradition of Aidy Bryant and David Spade.
Aidy lol she's basically Melissa McCarthy without the "it" factor
When I watch young comedians it always amazes how much confidence they exude. When I was that age, I was afraid of my own shadow. And the thought of talking in small groups, let alone millions would've sent me into a panic attack. I think the kids are gonna be alright.
Well this is one out of how many other countless idiots that roam this land?
Lmao “afraid of my own shadow”… yeah that was me too.
jost and che were visibly terrified in their debut (which i cannot fault them for; they were stepping into very, very, very large shoes)
@@360.Tapestry that probably factors in to the new cast being comfortable because they're right next to people who went through the same thing
Michael will make a great future update Anchor. 100% his own vibe but shades of Norm and Dennis Miller in delivery. His standup is Brilliant too. cant wait to see him develop on SNL
But that would mean Colin Jost would have to leave. But, hey, SNL seems to be doing one of its famous "rebuilding years", where the show's quality will suffer a bit because they're getting rid of the older cast members and trying to find some new meat.
And, yeah, I do hear some Norm Macdonald deadpan and casual mention of politically incorrect content, but Dennis Miller on Weekend Update was goofier, more giggly, and had a slightly more rapid-fire delivery than Michael Longfellow (and this isn't even mentioning the random asides delivered as serious news, how Dennis Miller's Weekend Update always started with music you're not likely to hear in a serious newscast, and women like The Weekend Update dancers and Victoria Jackson dancing on his desk. Mid-1980s SNL was...bizarre). I should know: the Dennis Miller Weekend Update is my favorite one, with Norm Macdonald in at second, and Jost and Che in at third.
Exactly what I was thinking. In a few years he’ll take over for Jost or Che
I feel like he and Punkie Johnson would make a good Weekend Update teamup.
Yes I'm getting Norm vibes too!
Dennis Miller! Hadn’t thought of him in so long but totally agree.
This deadpan humor is totally needed on snl, glad this guy’s here now
He's got a late 80's/early 90's cast member vibe.
He reminds me of Kevin Nealon.
He reminds me of Norm, real DGAF energy but gets away with it because he's charming and handsome but with an evil twinkle in his eye
Expected him to be new davidson but he seems more old-school
He kinda looks like a young Mike Myers to me
Remiss me of when Robert Downey Jr was on snl.
"You shouldnt cut antivax people out of your life...they could be dead tomorrow" flawless delivery!
And look where we are today, anti covid vax were right !
i don’t know him but I’m proud of him
HI LIV
His delivery reminds me a lot of Norm MacDonald. I died at the A boarding group joke. When my office books my ticket I get in A1-15 and the entire time I'm like "Get behind me peasants! I'm on my way to my aisle seat in the first five rows. I'll also be taking the space of three carry-ons for no reason thank you!"
Unfortunately no one can replace norm he was one of a kind rip legend
that was the funniest part of the bit to me too. 'boarding group a' told me he's flying southwest, and none of us who fly southwest are rich.
This was awesome! Really seamless and effortless delivery, can’t wait to see more from him on the show
All CZcams comments erased
Yeah he seemed comfortable .Surprisingly good.
Effortless is the first thing I thought of. Bad timing was the second.
@@cwg73160 woke actor’s are the best
@@Bidenfriend Best at spewing inane nonsense. insane to imagine hating your family because they're democrats or republicans... And that's why I'm a moderate, I'm hated by everyone. But can see through both sides propaganda.
Loved Colin's 'I said get your hands off me' gesture at the end.
Couldn't tell if that was part of the skit or if Colin was legit upset by it
@@enjoyitbro after watching Colin’s facial response I wonder why Colin didn’t smile when Longfellow touched his shoulder as if to say, “I’m in on the joke.” Colin looked annoyed. Edit: watched in slow motion Colin shows discontent.
@@enjoyitbro I think Colin was annoyed. He raises his hand twice to say get off. A planned skit would have called for once. The second time was due to annoyance. Anyway, Jost look pissed to me. "Hey New Guy, no touchy handsy!"
@@phdt12 He was annoyed, I think. "Touch not our Royal Person, New Guy!"
It’s a follow up to how Michael says rich people say get off me one and a half times. It’s part of the bit.
Omg I'm impressed. There's a quiet confidence and coolness and cuteness that is so attractive lol. But more importantly, the guy has great material and brilliant comic timing. Good luck and with material like this you'll definitely survive this season.
It’s pretty rare for me to like a new cast member, but this guy is so likable :,)
And he will play it.
@@eltravos99 I’m a lesbian….? Weirdo lmao
I like this guy a lot, goofy silly very chill 👍
This man will someday star in a Ferris Bueller reboot.
Or a Ferris Bueller spoof SNL does for some reason.
For THIS Reason!!!
Yes! I can see it (and I saw it in June ‘86) and I’m usually - nope, ZERO remakes of my HS year classics.
Because we don't already have enough almost 30 year olds playing high schoolers?
Because he’ll need the money after being fired from SNL?
I hope this new cast member becomes a regular "commentator" on the news segment. Great delivery, you can tell he's pretty comfortable, and he's a nice looking kid. And being funny was a big bonus as well!
this dude is ferris level cool with his delivery... can't wait to see his work
Oh yay!!! I've loved this guy's stand up for a while. So happy he joined the cast!!
I like this new kid! Also, I feel like a lot of people won't catch the Colin brush off at the end as a rich white person. lol Well done!
@@GiselleKlara I meant Colin being rich now. That's cool to know that he got there from not being rich. Now I'm curious how "not rich" he was. I mean...are we talking middle class? Welfare? Streets?
He's adorable. Can we keep him?
Michael Longfellow might be my new favourite visitor to Weekend Update. 😀
I could see this guy being the next Weekend Update host when Colin leaves. Good delivery.
Good call - they might be eyeballing this prospect.
So much comedy in the comments lmao
This was really good, Longfellow definitely the stand out new cast member so far, excited for the new season
"Get your hands off- I said GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!" Is sooo funny
Michael Longfellow is awesome. Great addition to the cast. Can't wait to see more of him!
"I imagine a lot of people in your family are republicans."
"Not really."
"Oh, just you."
Lol.
Pete left and now I have a new snl crush
First time seeing him on Update and he knocks it out of the park. Can't wait to see him in the rest of the season.
Nice ending! Longfellow placed his hand on Colin’s shoulder and “get your hands, get your hands off me!”
Michael Longfellow is hilarious, this is such a good hire. Lorne's still got it!
Michael looks like he could be Cecily Strong’s brother.
Or Norm Macdonald's son. But I'm leaning towards "Cecily Strong's brother".
Rich Colin telling him get your hands off me at the end was brilliant. He’s so nuanced. Always sliding something in on the low.
I love Michael Longfellow!! I’m so thrilled that he joined the cast, can’t wait to see more of his work!!
This guy I terrific. Weirdly he feels very 90s to me. With his look and general demeanor somehow.
This kid is going to be famous. Calling it right now.
Yeah he has something
Fairly sure he already is.
On SNL? No chance.
@@cwg73160 never
This was great!! Do you consider step moms family? “Ah, shoot” 😂
I am really looking forward to seeing more of this guy. His delivery is great!
Huge fan of Michael’s comedy! Excited to see his debut!
It was at :51 where I saw a glimpse of Norm McDonald. That sheepish grin staring down the camera, I love this guy. ❤
I really like this guy, he’s funny. I’m glad they added him to the cast.
That don’t touch me business at the end was classic physical comedy. This new guy gets it.
Can you explain Collin seemed like disgusted
@@evnash8295 He wasn't. "seemed" is the comedy. They played at the "you are not good enough to touch me".. and the discomfort guarantees a laugh. It's an old, but very effective trick
@@Corporations8MyBaby alright good I was kinda worried I was gonna have to hate Colin
@@evnash8295 This seemed off to me also, hopefully the guy with the eaten baby is right.
i love how different he is from the other cast members. it's the perfect kind of diversity. reminds me a little of pete
It’s like Pete Davidson and jimmy fallon made a baby. Not funny and laughs at his own jokes
@@ZACiSAREALBOY I thought Jimmy was funny on SNL. He's not funny now, but he got a few chuckles out of me on Weekend Update.
@@joeybaseball7352 i agree. i thought he was kind of funny during his days on snl but he went a little downhill. he has a big heart tho
@@joeybaseball7352 I mean, when they break sometimes it saves a sketch, I’d say 2 good examples are the prospector sketch and the cowbell sketch. Which jimmy breaks the most, and he had a character or two that was passable. Never really made a skit though.
I forgot to mention the Debbie Downer @ Disney Land, but that’s just straight up comedy gold. Everyone is breaking in that one
Always a reminder that time marches on when the rebuilding years begin...nostalgia plus seeing at least one legend get their first big moment in the national spotlight
He scarily looks like a young Mike Myers😂
I got Pete Davison vibes.
1/3 Pete Davidson and 2,/3 Jimmy Fallon.
Instantaneously brought to mind Mike Myers, & that makes me so freakin’ happy.
I can see mike myers, i sort of see a young white michael jackson
I can’t believe I went to the same high school as this guy and known him for a while. So proud of him! My jaw dropped when I saw him in the lineup.
I can see him being the next Pete Davidson tbh ngl. He’s perfect for this show!
lol hilarious! his mannerisms and pauses are perfect
new cast member to crush on since all my other ones left
I like him! He’s so good at delivering bits in a calm normal way, which makes them funnier.
Also I think he’s a bit nervous. The way he shakes his body is not consciously, I think. Looking forward to seeing his performance!
I think you're right. Imagine practicing your lines until you know exactly how you want to deliver each one, but when the time comes that you are debuting on a national stage, it occurs to you that you must remember each of them, in order, and manage to try to look natural as you deliver them at their proper times. I know I'd be shaking in my boots! I'd also forget half of the lines.
It's super big shoes to fill! First time out is good.
@@Dawn737 Do you know anything about SNL? Every single person is using cue cards.
I've watched this a few times now. I absolutely love it. So naturally funny.
Michael Longfellow did a great job! So natural - well done and we hope to see more of you!
This new guy crushed it! I like his energy and his delivery, really good stuff. Can't wait to see more!
Been following this guy on tiktok for awhile, his stand up is great and so was this. Hope he does well!
"Aren't there a lot of Republicans in your family?"
"No, not at all."
"Just you then?"
😆
He's quite the babe! Great sense of humor & those looks! What a combo!!
I must say this: I have been watching SNL since I was old enough to know that my parents thought it was inappropriate for me to view so I snuck downstairs Saturday evenings to watch with the volume really low. Dana Carvey/Phil Hartman era. I am impressed with Michael Longfellow. Great delivery, seems very comfortable as if he's been there awhile. I look forward to seeing more of him on the show.
He’s just adorable!
I'm glad they introduced Michael on the Weekend Update. I think I might like his humor.
Saw him on Don’t Tell Comedy this year. Lots of great comics on there.
There is a young Jimmy Fallon feel from him, I see him becoming big :) he is funny
Saw him years ago on Conan and thought he was really good. Glad to see he joined SNL.
I think he's really funny and he did a great job. He always reminded me of Bill Hader. Can't wait to see more of him.
This guy reminds me of like 6 other previous cast members, but in a good way. Good stuff.
Hol up lemme guess
Pete,Norm, Bill hader, Mike Myers, and A Whitney brown with a hint of Dennis miller
His voice is literally so smooth and I love it omg.
He's cute
He has the same nervous tallboy energy of a young Conan or John Mulaney
Michael Longfellow is the first SNL cast member to appear on Weekend Update during their first episode since Pete Davidson way back in 2014. 👍👍
Cecily strong is still in the cast.. She currently is finishing up another project and she is expected back.with the show late October.
That shot at Bill Maher was spot on!
Colin looked pissed at the end when Michael touched his shoulder.
I scrolled down to see if anyone else caught that.
It was part of the sketch..get off me man!!! Frim a rich dude
its called acting...
yeah awkward
veeeery good. can't wait to see more of him
"get in the will" killed me lmao
Very cool and smooth delivery, will be good to see more from him
Wait, was Colin Jost really annoyed when Mike put his hand on his shoulder?
Yeah, I’m kind of on Michael’s side because Colin tapped him on the shoulder first when he first rolled in glad I wasn’t the only one noticing!
I can tell this guy is going to be good. Excited to see more of him
It's the 'get your hands off me' by Colin at the end for me.....
Anyone catch that awkward exchange at the end between Colin and the new guy? Colin giving the “don’t touch me” gesture.
I like the guy's style...doesn't have to be loud, over-the-top, shouting. Just great writing and great delivery. Looking forward to more!
Ok! Call me a fan of Michael Longfellow 🎉 Imagine the PRESSURE!!!! And he seemed like he’d been a player on SNL for years. ❤
He reminds me so much of Norm McDonald
Intern Lyle vibes. Digging it! Can't wait to see more from this dude.
This is awesome, Michael Longfellow made his Weekend Update debut on the show.😄☺
Feel like he could do a good Charlie Sheen impression.
More of this guy yes please.
This eye candy has that kind of dry humor that i love, hoping for a Netflix especial
The Simpsons joke didn't get the laughter it deserved

This guy is going to be famous. I’ve seen his act prior he’s extremely good!
Michael did great!
Michael Longfellow's face is way too perfect. It's making me uncomfortable like I'm in the uncanny valley or something. 😅
Aristotle 2.0 Someone explain this new vampire direction of the show.
lmfao thank you forreal
He's a nice breath of fresh air. Seems like he just says what he thinks and doesn't care how it comes across. Love it.😂
Kind of like Pete Davidson, only not as depressing and more deadpan.
@@canaisyoung3601 and more norm if he doesn’t alienate half the country I nominate him for the next update anchor
