Well, Solution 1 still works for me even I had to make some folders first though.

Option 1 only worked for when I closed then re-launched chrome, but it still kept showing when opening up new tabs. So, I went with option 2.

For me, Chrome was not listed under Polices but was listed under Software / Google. I created the DWORD 32-bit value but it did not work get rid of the bookmarks :(.
If you create the Google then Chrome folders under Policies, (mine wasn't there to begin with either only Software / Google too), it works.

It's great saying go to run, I've never even heard of run and I've never seen that thing you clicked onto to get it.
Dude - Its common in windows, any way below are some easy ways to open "run window"
just use windows search and search for run
right click on windows icon (4 squares ) and select run.

@@brainerstech Oh, I found it. Windows key +R. But what I discovered was not exactly the same as you (or anyone else) showed on the screen. I felt my way around the thing and it didn't work. I gave up.

for any recent viewers out there : the Registry hack doesn't work anymore on the latest version of chrome .
Easier alternative : move your bookmarks from "bookmark bar" folder to "other bookmarks"

even after after using control + shift + B , 3 dots or right click it wont go away in home page

unless you have opened any website it won't go away, so pls do not leave new tab empty, you can do it by setting default site as may be google.com

Didn't work for me, I'm afraid.
Friend, Please rewatch this video completely. There is no reason why it is not working. There is one point where it seems not working but I have told reason and workaround for the same.
None of that worked and the last one deleted all my bookmarks.
Dude - pls remember as told in the video, you need to be on some website, at least on google.com for this to work (hiding the bookmark bar).

Bookmarks are still there after what the video suggests.
Bro- it goes away or get hidden, only if are on some website at least google.com. Some times chrome default new window page is not google.com. Keep this in mind and retry the video.

Bro - even if you hide, unless you are in any website it wont go away, so to work around it you can set google.com as a default website for new tabs.
