Possible for you to do a video on features and tips for Google classroom.
It will be quite helpful to students as well as teachers.
Thanks for the suggestion!
3:22 You can also center (mouse button) click and it will open all the bookmarks in the folder. I do this every morning. I have a folder called Morning which contains all the things I check first thing in the morning.
A couple of themed collections - as I want to check certain pages and blogs on regular basis and they mostly have a regular update, so a group for Monday and group for Tuesday, etc... ... also each is still in a later group by type, so news and photography and books sites are also collected together.
do u mean scroll click??
@@dominichutt3460 Yes, you are correct. I guess the modern mouse, it's both a scroll wheel and button.
A note- This option works for an 'independent bookmark' and 'for a folder that has independent bookmarks' BUT doesn't seem to work 'for a folder that has sub-folders that further have those multiple bookmarks (webpages)' . At least doesn't seem to work for me. Great suggestion though.
Since I recognize the icons, I just went ahead and completely deleted the names. Only on Folders do I keep a name. Great video (as always). Thanks.
Yes! I love doing this in Chrome, but In IE you have to have at least one character in the name.
@@williambach2790 In the new version of Microsoft Edge (Chromium), which will replace IE, you can just show the icon only.
Nice job! Thanks for sharing your experience, Michael.
I do this with youtube
What a quick clear precise video. Thank you for sharing the quick tip on opening multiple sites at the same time. First time watcher, but this video has me hooked for watching more quick efficient learning tips.
Oh my goodness, this was the most helpful thing I've ever watched (I think I say that about all your videos, lol)! I had NO idea that I could make folders or shorten the names. Thank you so much!!
You are so welcome, Pahla. Thank you so much for your kind words!
Just saved you as 'Boss' in my bookmark bar, you are respectfully to be adored.
Such clear direction, pleasant and great precision. You've saved the day and are a delight.
You have helped much more than I can say as confusion was driving me almost insane.
Now I am relaxing and thankfully praying that blessing will follow you all the way.
Thank you Sir, Have a Nice Day .....
Wow, you are a lifesaver. Thank you so much for the types of content you are teaching!
4:26 With recent versions of Windows you can also use the Windows Key and period key to open the emoji menu. Nice video!
Great tip. Thanks for sharing.
Just did the very same a week before (Quarantine got us organizing and optimizing way more) and I cannot stress how much it has increased my productivity and reduced my time of searching on google.
Another pointer is that when one syncs phone and PC by using chrome in both, there will be an additional Mobile Bookmarks Folder. Handy when we can segregate what we frequently access in mobile as well as pc separately.
The initial thought of organizing my bookmarks was a nightmare (I had 300 bookmarks) but I was able to finish that within an hour. I'm so glad that I did. Bookmarks are kinda overlooked when it comes to browser-based productivity hacks but are pretty important nonetheless.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Great video as always! I loved the emoji tip! Thanks so much. Keep up the great work!
OMG! This cleared up sooooo much for me!! Love the emojipedia with the folders on the Bookmark Bar! Also showing me the "manage" bookmarks!! I new there had to be a way to search the bookmarks but never found how, so I know I have duplicates, maybe even triplicates of bookmarks! Just making folders of similar topics, like "organizing"! Boy do I need that! Thank you so much!!!
You are so welcome!
"Open All Four" Wow, what a cool trick! I always learn something. Thanks Scott!
You are most welcome, James.
Thanks for the tip on using emoji's. Works well in Firefox as well.
I normally have use the toolbar not so much for quick access but things I'm working on at the time, so they're easy to get through instead of wading through heaps of bookmarks. For stuff I regularly use (like GMail, Calendar and Keep), I just pin them and they become a small tab which is always open.
THANK YOU FOR THIS...IT TOOK OVER AN HOUR BUT NOW MOST OF MY BOOKMARKS ARE ORGANIZED
Thanks! that was very helpful. I watched the video to find out how to add a second bookmark bar, but I never realized that by just shortening the bookmark names I could fit several extra on the single bookmark bar. Perfect!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I pretty much knew most of this already, but seeing this made me actually do it. Thanks.
Glad to hear it!
LOVE THE TIP REGARDING SHORTENING NAMES AND HAVING MORE ROOM!
Fantastic. Now I feel so organised. Really helpful.

Beautiful tutorial! Thank you!
Very good tips, thank you Scott
Hi,
Very nice to see a video for the #ChromeBookmarkBar, please find my tips below:
Better ways to
1 - bookmark current tab = drag it from the lock icon to bookmarks bar.
2 - create a folder = right-click bookmarks bar and select a new folder.
3 - to move all bookmarks from one profile to another = copy from bookmarks manager and paste it to the other profiles manager.
Recommendations:
1 - use icons only, for the most used websites to save more space = right-click the bookmark and edit the name to blank.
2 - play with themes you like, so that icons come more visible = themes @ App section
3 - Do not exceed the bookmark full space, so that you can see the end = drag bookmarks to folders, organize within the bar, and not going to bookmarks-manager.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing, Shane.

You have a talent for sharing info that so many youtubers don't posses, thank you for that. maybe I missed so I'll go over again but incase it isn't there I am wondering. Question; can i highlight several bookmarks & transfer to file at one time? I have hundreds and only 7 categories, doing one by one could take awhile.
Thanks man... it was a hectic thing to search for the files which I have book marked. every thing was messy but now I have clean stylish bookmarks bar... a peace of mind 😀
So glad to hear that. Thanks for sharing!
Super helpful, thank you!
You're welcome, Nick.
Very helpful. Thank you!
For popular sites you can remove the name and keep only the icon of it will be enough, that way you can save too much space in the bookmark bar.
For example you don't need a name beside google or youtube
Thank You, very helpful!!!
You're welcome!

this is amazing thx u
Very useful! thanks!
very helpful video. THanks
You're welcome!
One more tip on this is while on Chrome and let's say you're on a site you want to bookmark
you can drag and drop the url from the omnibox and drag it to one of the folders I described to you above.
It's that simple. I do this all the time and it works like a charm.
One true example is I have in my L folder a sub folder named LEFT OFF and I use this if I have to quickly get
off a site to go to another site. I 1st highlight the entire url then I drag and drop the url into my LEFT OFF folder that's sitting in the L folder.
That's a great tip, Joseph. Thanks so much for sharing this simple solution!
Simpletivity: Thank you! I did learn 1 thing i didn't know before which is that you can put folders on the bookmarks bar. Cool!

Sounds great! All the best to you as well!
cool things ,,, thanks for the info
Thanks for this lesson!! I have book mark a lot on youtube, but not able to locate any. Can you help with that? I press the star but not able to find anything.
Thanks:)
There you go making my browser life easier. Thanks. Now I can remove a few pinned tabs.
Simpletivity: Here's a bookmark tip I use...
put on the bookmark bar 26 folders and name them of course a,b,c, etc and associate your folder with a website you want.
example: in your G bookmark folder you can add a sub folder named GMAIL and place Gmail's bookmark in the sub folder
or by itself. I also in G have a sub folder GO and I place bookmarks first 2 letters of the item in the GO folder (example: GOOGLE).
All this to squeeze every bit of space on the bookmark bar.
Thanks so much for sharing this tip, Joseph.
Thank you
Very helpful
Glad you think so, Melanie!
Thinking about trying Firefox is it safe and do you recommend it? Thanks
So I know this video is 2 years old but I just wanna say 1) thanks for the tips and tricks and 2) why doesn’t Google Chrome just implement some system or some way to change the folder icons. I know you can use extensions to change bookmarks themselves (not the folder), as well as other Chrome extensions to create a completely different sidebar for bookmarks that is independent from Google Chrome; not native. I really don’t want to do that because things can change and it’s overall much more simpler and easier to have the native data of bookmarks and the folders they are “housed” in instead of using a potential worrisome third party extension that can change at any moment. If you have any feedback, tips, or suggestions to this common issue I have been researching all over as of recently, any feedback would be greatly appreciated ❤
P.S. Thanks for this video as it is a compromise between a yellow folder but with the added addition of some “life” and “color” as you can sort or customize your folders using the emojis, as you stated, yet you can’t change the folder icon itself! Take care and stay safe :)
good thanks
⚠i've one question, in bookmarks bar.. i've only few to show then a right arrow shows because of anothers are hidden, after press arrow we able to click that. how can we add most n most bookmarks in front of our eyes?? hope you got my question!!
I wish we could change the colour of the folder for bookmarks.... would make it so much nicer on the eye
Can the Bookmark Bar and Bookmark Menu work independently of each other? Safari behaves this way but for the life of me I can find a way to do this in Chrome.
I’ve created or added Bookmarks Manager to the first position on my bookmarks bar.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing!
How do you get that little google icon by the extension?
how do i put the bookmarks on the web page, not in the bookmark bar. I saw you had a few, I put a few there, but i don't know how i did it, and i've spent a few hours trying to figure it out. can you please help with this?
new sub today. Thanks
thank u😍
Welcome 😊
Is there away of sharing bookarks in Chrome with specific people - if so demo appreciated!
Could you make a video about password management? I've thought about it and can't decide how to deal with it.
Password Safe is great. Free. Open Source. One of the best password managers out there.
