    This is probably one of Lennons greatest songs. When you really listen to his vocals you can actually hear the flem in his vocal chords which makes his singing even more expressive.

    Galleazo, not only are you an expert on Beatles vocal techniques and instrumental techniques, you have a comprehension of what each song meant to each of them. This is absolutely amazing. I'm one of your biggest fans and I know I've said it before, you should get your arse to the Cavern Club Liverpool and do a gig. It would be a sell-out. I'm going there on the 19th June to celebrate Paul's 80th with Tony Coburn. £20 a ticket and Tony is amazing too. No disrespect to Tony but I would pay double that to see you. Keep up the amazing work. Thank you x

    After watching Get Back, I appreciate John's work more than ever. His vcocals on the recorded versions of songs like this and others are fantastic compared to so much of his work in the documentary, where he is just goofing around. When jamming, his vocie doesn't sound that good, because he's not serious. But when it's showtime, he goes next level. That's pretty awesome.

    Dear Galeazzo,
    In the fall of 1965 I was ten years old and the album Help! was the first LP I owned. So this song - one of the highlights of the record - has been with me for more than 56 years. After a couple of decades one thinks one has heard all of the nuances that are in there. Wrong! Tonight, watching (listening to) this new video of yours I got some five or six new insights in what John was doing here. The part in the end about the procunciation in particular! Never realised John was singing 'Ah' instead of 'I'. And left out the r's. And so on. Thank you so much for all the inspiring and instructive videos you produce.

    Because I grew up listening to my own Beatles records that I had from family whom some were in the music business. But I was also a huge fan of the movie Help. And I just kind of as you do mimicked his voice. And so I was learning all the voice mannerisms kind of naturally at the same time as I was learning to read and write. That nasally voice on this track in particular as a 5 - 6 year old who would watch the Film Help religiously Hide your Love away REALLY blew my tiny mind. And the nasally voice John does for this track was what I loved about it. Oh and Frudua I will have to rewatch your Strat set up videos and relearn how to do all that again, so thanks for this, and thanks again for doing those older Guitar set up videos too. Merry Christmas to you all.

    Great video!
    About the r sound in 'here': you're correct that John doesn't pronounce the r in 'here' his accent. However, in this example he is pronouncing it a bit, but as an 'intrusive r' (which is typical of English accents). This happens because there is a word starting with a vowel after 'here'.
    Another example of the intrusive r is in the lyric 'I saw a film today oh boy' which John pronounces as 'I sawr a film'.

  • @cawhittles
    @cawhittles Před 2 lety

    The ‘got to’ part sang as gotta !
    And this is sightless unusual as people from Liverpool would pronounce’ got to as ‘gorra’ Cilla Black used to lay it on very thick saying Gorra when on TV!
