How To Make Goma-tofu (White Sesame Tofu Pudding) | Vegan Recipe | Easy Healthy Japanese Breakfast

  • In this recipe, I will introduce how to make White Sesame Tofu. This vegan tofu dish can be both side dish and sweets. Please try miso based sauce, maple syrup and other sweeteners. Of course, enjoy its natural and plain flavor at first!

    Ingredients (4 servings):
    50g Kudzu starch powder [amzn.to/3cYOL5l]
    450ml Water
    3 Tbsp White sesame paste  [amzn.to/3eaxN43]
    Topping & Sauce:
    Maple syrup, to your taste  [amzn.to/3eaxN43]
    or
    Kuromitsu *Brown sugar syrup  [amzn.to/3echPX3]
    Kinako *Soy bean powder [amzn.to/3echPX3]
    Directions:
    1. Put Kudzu starch in a pot. Then, add water to dissolve it.
    2. Add the white sesame paste and mix well.
    3. Heat the pot with low heat. Keep stirring the mixture until it thickens. (About 10 minutes)
    4. Prepare two deep squared containers. Put ice cubes and water in one container.
    5. Pour the mixture in the other container and cool in ice water.
    *Pour a little bit of cold water on top of the mixture not to dry its surface.
    6. When the tofu has set, cut into 4 pieces. Move to the serving dish.

    I have one question for you : can we store the tofu in the fridge for a few days or should we eat it as soon as it is cooked ?
