    Love the pots and the gardening bag...I usually heat that with a gas lighter and it goes in easily. Great channel!

    Hello SC Gardener! I invested in a mallet with a rubber top to use in the garden. Works very well and acts as a protection while hitting things in. Much appreciation for all you do!

    Like I was taught, you use what you got to do what you gotta do! Just glad to see someone planting leeks; personally I can't do without 'em. The freezer is bulging at the seams! BTW, dahlin', you got my vote every time they'd let me.

    Sis when I first Started container gardening I was using a wood burning tool! Worked great before I started using a drill..which I don't trust myself with..that's hubby's job lol

    I’d do the same thing…tape so it doesn’t split! Then, a pointy screwdriver and hammer away…Lol….it works!! The, I went out and bought a drill. Now.. it’s easy-peasy….🤣🤣

    I think the funny looking instrument is a de weeder like something you use to dig up dandelions I just mix 3 tblsp of salt mix with water in a spray bottle to kill my weeds if a small amount I use home made weed killers I could be wrong but that is what I think it is have a great day God Bless you are doing a great job and you make gardening interesting ,informative, and fun.

    I’ve done this to 5 gallon buckets. First, I heat up the tip of the screwdriver in the fire then, ram it in the plastic.

    I probably would have started with a hammer and strong nail, then moved forward. I like the idea of a soldering iron from others, I may look into that.

    Heat up a screwdriver or a ice pick on the stove. Get it hot and make your holes. Works every time.

    I probably would have used the tape and a screw and drill...but you did good, girl! I SO wish I had a soldering iron. For $5 I'm getting you can bet I'm getting one as soon as I find one.

    Well, I would use a hot knife plastic cutter but sometimes when what you need is unavailable I take out the kitchen knife and the hammer if that do not work I am on my way to the hardware store I have been there You are very determined glad you got your holes my problem I have now is I want some rollers for my flower pots but I will get them.

    I use a soldering iron. They are between $10 and $15. I've bought one at Walmart but lost it ( the guys probably borrowed it and forgot where it is). I just bought another one today at an auto parts store for $12.99.
    I use it on buckets and totes for holes. I put my holes on the side so it will hold a little water. I don't have to water as much.

    Pretty good - took a lot of determination. Glad you didn't get hurt. I just ask my husband to drill them for me. 😊

    I use a wood burning tool. Paid $5 for it at a big box store. It works great. If you use a hammer and nail. Just put a block of wood under it.

    Buy a soldering iron. The hot tip will melt through the plastic and then you can widen the hole you just made.

    It may have been kluge the whole way through - but the final result sure doesn't look it! (Those are prettier holes than I get with a drill.)
    And, it's kinda weirdly reassuring that someone who seems as organized as you has misplaced TWO proper tools for the job - my ADHD heart thanks you! 🤣🙏

Since Walmart sent all those nice kitchen goodies, maybe they can send you some tools and a toolbox. 😉 Gals need a tool box with basic tools, like a power drill, adjustable wrench, glue gun, some wire cutters, a leveler, screwdrivers, and a hammer.

    I use a cheap soldering iron to make holes in plastic pots. If you get a soldering iron (can find them for less than $5.00 - just be sure to use it outside due to the fumes of the plastic pot when making the holes. Very fast and easy to do.

      They look complicated lol I’ve worked with drills and cordless screw drivers before though. I may try the soldering iron. I see a lot of nice pots at the goodwill but I pass them up because no holes lol

      I’ve been looking at those since so many people mentioned it. And they look so complicated. I see a few drill/cordless screwdrivers that aren’t expensive and it just seems like I could do so much more with it. But who knows lol. Thanks

    Heat the end of your screwdriver. Burns right through plastic. That’s how I do it.

    I heat a screwdriver on the flame on my gas stove, then poke it in the bottom of the plastic pot,,,,, DONE DEAL., make sure you use a pot holder for the screwdriver

      A lighter will work also. Thanks for the tip on using the tape. I busted the bottom of my pot 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ but oh well. Wish I had thought of using my wood burning tool or soldering iron. But I have 3 more I need to put holes in. Thanks for the ideas on doing it

    I use my hot glue gun.melts through most plastic for me
