- My garden is a disater! Now I need to get it all cleaned up, soil topped of and amended before I can plant for spring. This is something that should be done at the end of the fall season so that you are ready when spring comes.

Where i live High School students have to do some community work. You might find a biology class that might want to help turn that disaster off. Do a presentation at the school. You will have help every spring.

@@TheScaredyCatGardener Yes i hear you i am 71 no backyard but i have inside garden 3 aero gardens lettuce tomatoes, basil. and window unit of microgreens. It took me 3 times to get the tomatoes to grow finally. I am learning from you thank you. The microgreens i got mini greenhouse , posted soil and seed from dollar tree total of $3.75. Share.
Im addicted to gardening! I have thrown seeds everywhere 😂 my main garden is empty still but can't wait to start it, also my husband is going to till up a bigger one and man am i excited. Im doing corn finally. I get such a burst of happiness lol, i remember being a kid and my mother did the same. I didn't get it then but i get it i get it, i wish she was still here so she could see mine😢 i believe she would love it and have so much advice. Im dedicating the big garden to her this year with her name on a plaque on a bird bath or something. I think it will just make me feel good and ill have a joy just having her being a part of it. 😊 Ty for sharing ❤

Try using azalea fertilizer on the blueberries. They love acidic soil. My blueberries bushes have 5 times the berries/blooms as yours does.
It’s not time for mine to bloom yet actually. It’s still in the 30s at night. I’m hoping they make it ok due to getting some early blooms.
That is marigolds growing up in the pot. I have several about five inches high growing. I live 30 minutes south of Raleigh, NC.
I thought it was but it brought more bad pest than anything. I didn’t know it would come back each year lol. Thanks

I always leave everything till spring, since i have to wait till mid may to plant most things, it keeps me busy in April.
That’s a good idea and even when I do it in the fall I still have a little to do in spring lol

Hah! I don't measure either! I'm jealous of your parsley! Rosemary is an evergreen zone 8 too so I think yours died 😢 calendula is a medicinal herb you can add to your medicinal arsenal! My thyme looks like yours, I'm gonna add more this year. Happy gardening! You don't do seeds right? I remember you had a hilarious video denouncing them. I'm doing seeds first time this year and hating it. If by near end of April I'm not happy it's off to the nursery for plants!
lol. Yes I do seeds and get some starts from the nursery BUT I only direct sow my seeds. I denounced starting seeds inside 😂

You can also use plastic totes. Just cut holes for air and drainage. I used a couple of $ 10 kiddie pools from $ gen , same thing, holes in the bottom !!👍

yes, mine is a mess too
zone 9 in Texas, planting in containers, planted squash, bell peppers, potatoes, garlic, tomates and cucumbers, celery. If we were neighbors I'd lend you a hand. Had to start over this spring. Im still at it, need to get more companion plants. Really enjoy your videos.

Have you heard about bokashi. It’s Japanese. Fermenting food waste and using the liquid from it.

I purchased the same bag at Home Depot yesterday to top off my beds for $7. You did well to stockpile it last year. I didn’t have enough time to make enough compost.

Nope the grass was just cut. We have to keep it a certain length. HOA rules and there are no leaves to get up
@@TheScaredyCatGardener So sorry 2 know about that.Aunt from Fremont,Ca. had the same problem.Everybody's yard out front had 2 look alike and had 2 get permission 2 do anything 2 the yard.
They could do whatever they wanted w/the back.They lived n a Condo but sold it and moved 2 Oklahoma.
I could *nvr live n a place w/sooo many rules regard'g the yard/property.❤🤗
DO YOU KNOW THAT LOWE'S, AND HOME DEPOT,MARK DOWN ANY BAGED DIRT,MOSS,PEARLITE,MULCTH,AND THE LIKE 1/2 PRICE, ITS SUCH A BLESSING FOR ME😊 where do you get those big red planters from??? OK I forgot to say,if the bags are ripped, or torn,they will give them to you 1/2 price
They only mark them down if the bag is busted here. I got them from Home Depot but my store didn’t have any at all this year. No reds. Thanks

What kind of taste, does swiss chard have??? Do you use it like all the other greens ,both cooked, and uncooked??? I am a salad queen, in my family 😊
Yes you can use it cooked and raw. However, personally I only eat it raw. I don’t like the cooked taste. Most people only eat it cooked. Thanks

Hey, patio condo gardening here in NC 7a.
Couple questions. I'm trying asparagus and celery 1st time this year. I started both from seed indoors, so I have great seedlings now to put in planters or raised bed. How many asparagus crowns did you put in one planter? And do you think I could grow one celery plant in a stardard sand bucket that is 14" tall, 10" diameter, of course drilling so drainage holes??
First double check your zone!!! They changed last November. I was 7B now I’m 8a. Make sure yours is the same. Yes on the celery and I just broadcast some asparagus seeds.

You need more than one type variety of blueberry bush. Mine are
1st. Emerald Blueberry
2nd Sharpblue blueberry
3rd. Powder Blue Blueberry (the rescue one)
