  • Today I decided to sit down and discuss the advantages of owning a BMW M235i over a 335/435i! All of these cars are great no doubt and they all provide amazing driving experiences and practicality in one package. However, I truly believe the M235i from a strictly (performance) standpoint is a superior car. Hope you guys enjoyed the video and be sure to like and subscribe for more content!

    One thing I forgot to mention is that the N55 used in the M235i & M2 comes with a forged crankshaft, connecting rods, & bearings unlike the 335i/435i.

      So it can take more power or what advantages does it get from this? And what are bolt ons? Im from germany and I always hear bolt ons but I dont make up whats meant with that. Anyways I've always come upon your vids since u have got your e92. Very informative and good videos! Keep up the great work bro!

      D K the advantages of having a car that already has forged internals is that when you want to turn up the boost or add bolt one you don’t have to worry too much about your engine blowing up with the added hp. Bolt ons pretty much refers to parts that you can install your self with out having to do major engine work like, headers, air Intake, exhaust.

    Is that ty brasel on background music? Also I agree with everything in this video except with the body roll part. It's not bad to have some roll and shock travel especially in street or canyon scenario. Softer ride and more travel helps with the bumps and changes in the road and the roll communicates as well. Great videos keep them up!

The steering feel is definitely improved and something I wish we could swap to the f30. • @TheDschuller90
      @TheDschuller90 Před 4 lety

      @@SimplyCarThings ya all in all the cars have very different approaches. The m235 feels like a go-kart you feel tight and snug and low where the f30 feels bulkier and you need to load up to get through a windy section with multiple quick turns. The m235 is much more responsive in that aspect and feels a lot lighter. Both are great cars you just have to drive them differently.

    I wonder Xdrive in three of these cars adds up any disadvantage? I mean, I know (also more fuel consumption) it's gonna add up some weight but an additional 50 HP or more and/or some light wheels etc. will change that weight difference. However, AWD gonna make this car way safer and driveable in all weather conditions, faster 0 to 60 etc. But I wonder if Xdrive adds up any disadvantage beside fuel consumption and weight? Does it ruins handling of the car etc.?

    Love your channel, but come on, you say that just because you own a M235i, I got the 4 series after test driving the 2 series and 3 series, because it handles better than the 3 series, but also more comfortable for a daily than the 2 series. Unless you goto the track, (which is what the M2 was made for), the 4 series is the better compromise. Don't get me wrong, the M235i is an amazing car, one of the few models that truly stays with BMW's roots of ultimate driving machine, but as Chris Harris once said "The 4 series has more performance than most buyers will ever need, it really does!"

      The M235i is rated at 320hp and 332lb/tq vs 300hp and 300tq when compared to the 335i/435i. The curb weight of a lightly optioned M235i is around 3440lbs vs 3635lbs with a 335i/435i. Those points can be fact checked fairly easily. The other points i stated such as chassis feel, and steering you will need to verify yourself by actually driving the cars back to back but I can assure you that the smaller, more nimble 2 series handles better and has a better feel in the canyons than its larger equivalent. There are numerous videos of M235i's running the Nurburgring in sub 7:50 times. The M235i has been tested to run 4.8 seconds 0-60 vs 5.1 seconds with a 435i.

      Al Yap the fact you’re trying to compare your 228i to a 3.0 straight six probably one of the best sounding engines ever made is laughable😂 you could get a stage 1 map on the 235 and it’d leaving your car standing

      Ben carver .. you have ZERO clue about cars. The 228 is more balamced, and I could smoke you any day any time. You would not hold a candle

      Al Yap the fact you’re driving a 2.0 litre proves you know nothing about cars for one, my stage 1 M235 would leave your car standing😂 it pulls on RS5s for fun from 40mph rolling

      @@SimplyCarThings im just buggin haha. i'm a little older than you so 4 doors is more convenient for me. Too bad you didnt opt for the b58 instead. would have enjoyed to watch you review a b58!

      I definitely wouldve gone for one if i could afford it! But even then, a used M240i is around the same price as a 2015 M4 so it's an interesting market right now lol

      Simply Car Things it's OK. At your age you've had better care than I did lol I'm actually looking to get my first German too. Thinking of another f80 or f30 335i.

    The 2 series is a Boy Racer , the Ascetic Design of the 3 series and 4 series looks much better, in my opinion they are much better looking cars overall than the 2 series. The 2 series will not age well, and will look dated in just a couple of years, compared to the 3/ 4 series which are timeless.

      For the F30 3 series they call it the 335i M Performance edition. It's basically the 3 series version, but it doesn't place M in front of the number. czcams.com/video/-D_vpnPzGYg/video.html
