    Really like the idea of this, Logi products are generally quite good overall, but damn... That price!

      Exactly, 😄was just thinking "I'm ordering this one for my home "office" (read kitchen)...." and then - "... maybe I think about it... "
      But like you say generally Logi products are good - very pleased with my webcam, mouse & keyboard, so will check for discounts over here (Sweden).

      I like this integrated audio dock with many useful and powerful ports, too. While it's a pity that it lacks an ethernet port. I found out a similar product called hidock h1, more ports but less price. Looks much better than Logi Dock.

  • @CortexCompiler

    The 6 mics on that Dock do a terrible job of noise cancelling and the voice sound is pretty bad too; it was worse than the built-in mic. That is unfortunate considering the price point. This means that I would still want to use a dedicated microphone, so it would not fully realize the de-cluttering of the desk.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for the feedback Brad agree there could be some improvements made to the microphone performance but to be fair it is a speakerphone which isn’t designed for tons of noise cancellation. We do have our blind headset test open for 2023 to determine the best headset mic you can check it out vote.headsetadvisor.com

    • @LegendaryMaoMao20
      @LegendaryMaoMao20 Před rokem +1

      I agree with you, the microphone is terrible, but if they can improve it, and be as good as the JLAB workbuds microphone when it comes to noise cancellation, it would be pretty much perfect

    • @CortexCompiler
      @CortexCompiler Před rokem +1

      @@LegendaryMaoMao20 yes, for me, if they added multi-monitor support (thunderbolt) and improved the mic it would be perfect. Also, full disclosure, I purchased an open box one and for now can live with the mic performance and connecting one extra usb-c to my laptop (until I get chaining working). Watching for the next generation though.

      You can check out the hidock h1. Similar audio dock with more ports but less price. And it has the bi-directional noise cancellation for meetings and calls. The sound quality is good and no more microphone is needed.

    So here's my question for this device -
    I, like many others, have a work from home setup which is an extension of my personal computer setup. i would love a device that allows me to share 1 super ultrawide monitor (samsung odyssey g9 49inch), a mouse, keyboard, qi charging mouse pad, webcam, and wireless dongle for earbuds, and/or usb-connected speakers between both my work laptop and my PC and to easily toggle between the two.
    Would this device allow me to accomplish this feat? The item details are listed below:
    Logitech stream cam (connects via usb-c)
    Drop Alt keyboard (connects via usb 3.0)
    logitech power pad mouse pad (connects via usb 3.0)
    logitech pro x mouse (can connect via usb 3.0, but is tethered to the mouse pad, so it stays connected to whatever the mouse pad is connected to)
    logitech g560 speakers (connects via usb 3.0)
    logitech g-fits bluetooth earbuds with lightspeed usb 3.0 dongle
    Monitor is samsung odyssey g9 49inch super ultrawide (can connect via hdmi 3.1 or display port)
    Right now im using a ugreen kvm switch but it is limited on ports. and in order to connect 1 additional usb 3.0 device i need to use a powered usb hub, which i currently do not possess. but would rather not have to daisy chain multiple things together if this will accomplish the task as 1 device.

  • @chriswho6794

    Great video! Has the built in microphones been improved either via a firmware update or hardware update? Having a 6-microphone array mounted on the same housing as the speakers should be an easy task for Logi. I expected better noise cancelling AND microphone quality closer to their Rally Bar series conference room cameras - the laptop microphone seemed to have a better pick up.

    "Charge" the LogiDock? Does it have a battery inside of it? I read it off their website but it doesn't give a clear explanation why it needs a huge power brick

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Před rokem

      Sorry for the confusion but the logi dock doesn’t have a battery in it so it does charge. The big brick helps power the logidock but also gives enough power for it to charge a laptop through the usb c cable

    Speakers are good but the microphone quality is terrible; it’s so muffled and poor noise canceling in your test.

    LACKS IN TECH!!! I love products like Logi Dock.. There is nothing out there of this sort. I got mine recently and had to return it cos it doesn't work well with Thunderbolt 4 USB C ports. It needs DP Alt mode which depending upon the laptop manufacturers may or may not implement it in their firmware.
    I am really looking forward for an improved version of Logi Dock with the following:
    - Thunderbolt 4 support
    - Power Button
    - Additional HDMI port for 3 monitor setup
    - Support for display over USB - C ports
    - Ethernet Port
    - Overall better build quality (not that its bad!) and sound output for music
    The unique thing about this product is that its useful for both WFH setups and in business meeting rooms. Its lacking in technology though which is sad. Thunderbolt 4 support is a necessity in this day and age. I would urge Logitech to take this feedback and release a better version. Would be the 1st one in line to buy.
