  • Let's use our 4 style pillars (lines, shapes, color, and details/finishings) to vet a purchase. We will be using my pillars as an example and taking you through why one dress failed the test and why I ended up buying my first Bright Spring piece!
    And we can even do your pillars as examples in the future to help you buy with more intention!

    Yes, more examples using style pillars, please! I must add that it was truly surprising when you said you are a Bright Spring, but seeing you in the right color made all the difference from seeing some of your other outfits from previous videos.

    Yay! This was a great example. Would love to hear later how you felt wearing it out and about and different ways to style a piece to bring it "back" to your style statement.

      Yes I haven’t had an official outing in it, that was just my try on. But I can definitely do this 👍🏻

    You really do look so good in the bright spring color palette. I’ve started learning about color seasons about 1 year or so ago. And you really do shine in the BS colors you’re using now!
    Also, I have watched a ton of your videos and really enjoyed this one as well. I’d love to see more of this type of thing.
    Maybe even having you analyze an another person as well in this way as they consider buying a new piece and pulling in their body type, personal style, etc.

    The color looks great on you! I wasn't sure you were a bright spring until you showed yourself in the dress. Perfect. Yes, these videos are fantastic. :)

    Now makes sense why you always looked so great in an Icy mint shiny top you use in old videos, it was more like a BW but since is a sister palette was close. Love how you look in your BSp palette, you shine! Your skin looks like glass.
    You are beautiful anyway ✨

      Thank you! Yes, I think I was so sure I wasn't a spring, that I kept circling around brights but never really hit the mark. I'm truly happy with the new palette! It'll be a fun exploration and pivot

    • @Kari_L12
      @Kari_L12 Před 3 měsíci +1

      I hear you. I'm in the same dilemma if I am Bw or BSP after all. I think sadly the representation we have of Bw and Bsp always looks super high contrast and even dark so it can confuse us and make us feel imposters if we don't look like that but see the bright colors working in drapes. I see lots of BW and BSp are often said they look like summers. I find that interesting.
      You look like a summer gal (not so high contrast) but is obvious how good you look in bright even if leans a bit cool, but is still bright.
      I hope you enjoy your new palette!

    Loving your post-Bright Spring content. I think you looked beautiful in the Deep Summer colors but the contrast really highlights the harmony of the Bright Spring palette with your features because even with very minimal makeup they make you look like you could be readily photographed at the Met Gala! This dress is really lovely on you and its versatility for styling options seems like it's a great choice.

      Ooh! My parameters are: soft natural, bright spring (I think), usually like more medium weight things with my soft natural lines, and style statements I would say comfy with a pop. I’m a doctor who works in a clinic. I like pretty simple not fussy lines but with little pops of excitement like a funky earring,hair scarf, or fun glasses

    This is soooo helpful! I also had an "aha!" moment when you talked about the weight of the line. You are simply stunning in this new dress, and I love how your content is developing!!
    As you are collecting some parameters, I'd like your help. I'm experimenting with the style statement "a bit relaxed dramatic classic". I'm going to the U.S. this year to do my PhD (very excited!) and I like the smart casual vibe, not being that constricted. I think that dramatic classic is my Kibbe type and bright winter my color pallete. Maybe you could consider my example to style a buttom down shirt in a solid color with an interesting black jeans (appropriate to commuting by bike) and interesting flats.
    Best regards for you and your Brazilian father!

    Hi! I don’t know if this will help you at all but when I got color analysis I washed my clothes that were close to the right color with my undertone color (you could do blue or yellow) and it changes the tone of the garment to fit your color palette better! If you have anything you love that you can add yellow to (like that house of can dress) it would probably work really well!!

  • @northwoodfalls1403
    @northwoodfalls1403 Před 3 měsíci +1

    I had a bit of an “ah HA” moment there when you were talking about weight and how the design and construction can accentuate that. I have a few summer dresses that suit me well but they kinda annoy me and I’ve never been able to pinpoint exactly why. They have a lot of fabric in the skirt and are very long which is great. But the skirt is very gathered at the waist and while it does create a lot of vertical lines down the skirt portion, it’s too soft. I realized while watching this that I do like pleats and gathers, but when they are bolder, stronger, more defined, and fewer of them. A few boxier pleats vs hundreds of tiny gathers would make the dresses PERFECT for me. I can still make them work, but I know now what to look for to avoid that disappointment when the garment isn’t as good as it could be for me. It has me thinking if it would be worth it to try altering one of them ….. 🤔
    The red of that dress is bang on for you. It doesn’t look startling like a bright colour does when it’s the wrong one. It looks totally harmonious and natural. The style suits you so well, too. ❤

    • @Gabriellearrudadesign
      @Gabriellearrudadesign  Před 3 měsíci +1

      This is a great observation and can help you so much when you're reviewing your own wardrobe and/or shopping for a new piece. If you're thinking about altering a garment, it might be wise to also use your other pillars to make sure 1. it's a possible alteration 2. make sure it's worth the time and money to adjust it. And thank you!

    Even though your old red dress wasn't in a bright spring color, it still looks really good on you based on all your pillars. IMHO both of the new dresses (the pink and the red) seemed too bright on you. I thought the old red dress harmonized with your skin tone better.
