Let me know some of the principles and habits you’ve implemented to level up your style! ✨💅
Thanks for the video I really liked your tips :) One of my method is to think if the thing that I want to buy can be teamed with at lest three items in my wardrobe or I can borrow some pieces from my friends then try them on for a while and later decide if I really need them and feel comfortable wearing them. I was wondering do you work as a stylist? How did you get into fashio in the firts place?
Do you have the details of the bag you wore with the slip dress?thx
YES YES wear your special stuff. Heartbreaking to sort my mom’s clothes and find gorgeous cashmere she NEVER wore. Saved for a special day. But that special day never came. I wear everything…except the ballgown at the grocery store. Definitely something to ponder.
Yes!
I slept in a cashmere sweater last night…it was not wasted. My sister always asked herself, “what would this look like if I slept in it?”. The sweater was a thrifted men’s argyle which I also wore to get pizza yesterday. Welcome spring….snow and freezing.
I wish I could wear my nicer clothes on a more regular basis but I will absolutely destroy them. I wore a silk shirt to dinner at my parents’ and managed to snag the fabric right away. Without doing anything more extreme than driving, walking, helping set the table and eating.
Cashmere and wool I am pretty good with, actually wear those a lot to work. But I am learning that silk may just be not for me, though I love how it looks and feels.
@@metasymphony Different types and weaves/knits of silk wear very differently. You may not want to go with satin or some of the more gossamer silk weaves--they snag like crazy. I have several pairs of silk gabardine pants that I wear all the time, and no matter how much I bump into snaggable objects, they're fine. (I also thrifted them, so if something happens and they get destroyed, I'm not going to cry about it.) They're also hand washable, which I'm fine with.
@@sarahgelberg Ooh thank you, I’ll have to look that up! The shirt I wore was recycled sari silk so I thought it would be pretty resilient, but I think there are different kinds of sari silk as well.
The best thing I ever did for my style was pull my favorite items out of my closet and look at them together. Some very clear preferences became obvious immediately. There were just a few colors, cuts, fabrics and textures. Three words could definitely describe the vibe. And it was enough to put together a few days of fits that make me feel great. It felt like my true style was there already, but it was hidden in a lot of clutter. So I decided to wear only my favorites for now, and evaluate everything else one piece at a time at a pace I can manage. It has been rewarding so far! A few items went to consignment, so I have some store credit to use when I am ready. Friends wanted some pieces, and I am thrilled that they look great in things that were not working for me. A local organization was looking for specific items that I had, so I donated. The real fun is just beginning though--I transformed a couple of things into favorites with dye and small alterations that I learned with internet tutorials. I have at least ten more pieces that I plan to alter. My collection of favorites is growing without shopping!
I really had problems with the 3 words, because my style in summer and winter are very different. I have now decided to have 3 words for the warmer months and 3 for the kold months and suddently it works. Chick, comfy and casual for cold, feminin(flowy), Hippie light and easy for the warmer moths, my modyfyers would be edgy and dramatic all year.❤
I love that! I confirmed personally with Allison Bornstein the other day that your 3 words can def change! I think seasonally makes so much sense
I love this idea, as I live in Minnesota!
Oh.. great idea!
Great idea.
Hi Christina, I really love your content, thank you so much! I live in Germany and it is so refreshing and inspiring to see your style ideas because it’s really different from what I see when I walk down the streets of the relatively small town I live in. One thing I actually learned from this video is that the ‘aspirational’ part of all the methods like the three word method, wrong shoe and so on is something I could use for my own style. I passed many years feeling ‘off’ in my clothes because I never dared incorporating items that felt too far away from what I am used to. Your ten tips from this video really help, because I realize that I could just be integrating this and that into my wardrobe to move forward and see what works..plus seeing the inspirations from your own wardrobe really motivates me!
I cant stop watching your videos. This makes so much sense. I think my words are somewhat like Artsy + Cosy + Practical.
Thanks, your videos are always great. But whenever I watch a creator showing an outfit, and changing it, is usually achieved adding a blazer, jacket, scar, etc. But what happens in a hot weather or even when you get to the place you are goin? Usually we would take it out and then the outfit gets back to its origins.
I like to use Oxford shirts as over layers usually and that’s when accessories hair etc come in
Thank you! I love the opposites hack and wrong shoe theory. Gonna apply these this week to achieve more balance!
Its interesting to hear you describe the black slip dress as feminine and pretty. I would have described it as sleek and sophisticated. But that's different interpretations leading to different looks, even with the same 3 style words.
💯!
I've been immersing myself in your videos. I'm quite a bit older, and I recently lost 80 lbs. I like the wearing of sneakers with dresses and boots with jeans. I do feel it is important to dress my age and minimalist. I'm finding out how I can jazz up these efforts and still be comfortable. I did buy a few investment pieces. You are right, I shouldn't save them for special occasions. Thanks for the videos🎉🎉
Thanks for this great video! ❤ It really helps using these tips and tools. I am still searching for my style and especially for spring what my essentials are. I keep reminding myself it takes time. Have a nice day!
GREAT video! Every point was well thought out and creatively presented. I could not agree more about considering what you already have in your wardrobe and putting them together in new ways that reflect your personal style. Love the content.
Thank you!! Great tips. And love the new red tshirt on you! Both the colour and the style look really good on you. Somehow the colour makes your eyes stand out more 👌🏼
Thank you so much for your honesty and transparency about your previous spending habits and problems. Far too many influencers out there peddling a fantasy that they have all this and can afford it so you should too, without baring the truth of sponsorships, so called ‘favourites’, free goods in exchange for their promotion, links so they make money off your spending, and ‘hauls’ that are promptly returned.
Loved, loved the video Christina! What terrific suggestions!😊
I had fairly debilitating shoulder pain for years so I now have a lot of button down shirts and cardigans, decluttering anything that was polyester or acrylic. I'm not even mad about it because I discovered that those articles of clothing are not only practical but my personal preference for the long haul.
The wrong shoe just feels like, well, the wrong shoe...like you were running out of the house and grabbed what was sitting by the door.
The wrong shoe was the only tip that didn't resonate to me on the video. Or it did, but to reinforce exactly what you said: the wrong shoe actually feels wrong. I can feel awkard the whole day if I fell I picked the wrong shoe for the outfit.
It’s tough on me when I’m trying to evolve my style sometimes. I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone of t-shirt and jeans with sneakers. I enjoy your styling tips. Seeing a look and turning it to my own can bring up challenges. Thanks for the advice.
The bag you’re wearing around 4:25 is absolutely stunning! I love your style
Your advice is getting better and better!
loved the bit about not saving the dressier clothes of the favorites for special occasions....rather wear and enjoy them. a big fan
I think #10 is so important. If I’m still thinking about pieces of clothing a week after I put it on my wish list or longer then I know I actually am interested and it wasn’t just me being caught up in the moment.
Loved this video!! Some of these are so useful I tried one right away while watching your video ✨
Love this video! So many good tips❤ my favorite is big, slim, skin and don't save the good stuff, wear it now! thanks Christina
Very interesting video! I love to play with textures, so i almost always wear pleated skirts and unique shoes and different (mostly found in secon hand shops) blouses. It's so pleasant and makes the outfit mysterious, flexible or something else. Just interesting!
Many good and practical points to use!
Thank you, Christina for another great video, I am already trying to introduce some colour into my wardrobe, after your previous video, it was eye opening for me ❤ I would also love to see a week of your outfits or something similar 🤩
This is one of the best style guide videos i've seen, well done 👌
I find your videos such eye opening. Thanks.😊
Love this! Your videos are so full of amazing knowledge. Thanks so much! ❤
As always, a fantastic video packed with great tips🤩
Clothes are my life and I love to follow the second hand influencers. I really think I got it all down but once in a while I hear a really fabulous tip from an influencer just here or there. I feel like this video has gleaned the best tips I have ever heard into one video. Kudos and congratulations! I love your style!
Taking notes! Great video, thank you:)
Christina, I've been following you since 2018 and I have to say I love your transition from being a shopaholic to consuming consciously and also getting out of debt. I am on a similar journey and I so appreciate you being vulnerable and sharing this with me/us! I love your new style cheers to evolution!
Great video . Thank you so much
This video is solid! Thank you!!
Hi Christina, so true for No. 8 why are we saving our clothes?? Wear your favorite clothes!😊 Great advice.
Another lovely video and the red t shirt looks great. I’m planning to add one in a cool red because I miss having one- it’s a staple for me. So are a bluey-green v neck t and sweater Those aren’t likely to appear on most people’s lists of essentials but they are for me.
Great video!very helpful!
I heard some new tips and they are great. Thanks!!!
Thanks . You helped me alot.
Thank you so much!!!❤
Such great advice!
I'm really glad that you touched on how a person's upbringing can impact their sense of style, because honestly, I find that my style doesn't rely on outliers a whole lot. I like to keep things casual and I live in Tennessee.... traditional could be one outlier word that I would use. I also know that femininity is definitely starting to become a thing in my style even though my personality leans more on the masculine side at times.... It's a fun process to see you putting this exercise into practice, so I appreciate this video very much 😊
Delaying gratification is really working for me. Within a small amount of time, when I go back to my cart, I don't want the item anymore. Most of the time, I delete the items from my cart.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Every point is an absolute gold nugget!!! Love ❤️
Thank you!
Love the قطن tote bag!
Whoa, #10 was a surprise! And it shouldn't have been. The moment we forget what brought us to success is when those habits start creeping back. Thank you for holding the line... Now excuse me, I have some items I need to return. 😊
Great tips! Fun sweatshirts are my wardrobe essential and I loved your gray hoodie. Do you mind sharing where it is from?
I took the quiz and got results that were surprising to me at first: avant-garde, bohemian, and androgynous. After reflection, they all made sense. I’m still in the process of trying to get my head around my style blend, but I’m taking the 8-week style workshop from Indyx, and I’m loving it! It’s especially helpful to see examples from the staff in each lesson.
Where is the quizz, please?
I love that you link Canadian sites, finally - I have been looooooking for so long....I will be a big follower!
Christina and Alyssa Beltempo are both great for this!
I'd love to see an in depth video about rule #8 😊
Your parents sound really fun! Excellent video, as always. Thanks so much!
As I have told my Mom, wear a fancy whatever even when going to the Grocery Store! I wear fancier accessories with wardrobe basics to kick the look up. It is so much fun! 😊❤ Thanks for more great content, Christina! Your style rocks! 🙂❤️🤘🏼 That black dress...hubba-hubba! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
дякую за такий інформативний випуск 👌💙💛
Hi Christina, what is the difference between 3 style words and modifier? For e.g. my style words are youthful, eye catching, comfortable. Then what would be examples of modifiers for my style?
Terrific video! What brand is your green blazer?😊
Started watching this and couldn't even stop or finish the video before perusing my closet for all the maybes I've been keeping in the mix. Count 'em, 12 tops -- almost 25% of what's there! Thank you for helping me to take action on what I've already felt weighing on my mind when getting dressed.
Delayed gratification has worked SO well for me, and I have only mastered the practice by pinning everything that grabs my attention. Doing this has allowed me the space not to feel pressured "because I might forget it or where I saw it" but also sometimes I'll go back and be like, "Wow, that was definitely a passing fancy, glad I didn't buy that!" 😂
Not sure if you'll see this, but can you tell me where your black tank top came from that you wore in those clips toward the end of this video? Love the interesting and elegant scoop back!
I always thought that I must wear skirts and dresses with feminine shoes and I didn't like the vibe so I decluttered all my dresses and skirts 🙈 I started to slowly add them in my wardrobe again and now I only pair them with converse, oxford shoes or doc martens boots, and leather or denim jackets. I don't feel like me if I am all too feminine. I never thought that one of my words could be "sporty".
Me too! It made so much sense to me when I figured that out. I’m def with you on the sneakers and boots with skirts!
Great suggestions! I wish you’d given a link for the croissant bag. Which video did you introduce it in?
it's the songmont luna bag! check out about 3 videos back (chic in a rush) for more info :) xx
My favourite video of yours 💥⚡️
Can you make a video on dressing as a wedding guest? I have a couple weddings coming up in the fall :)
Can you please recommend a classic black belt with gold hardware like the one you were wearing? Thanks
I was so excited for this Indyx thing, but unfortunately I don't feel represented by the styles offered at all. Like, I just don't ever wear high heels and I don't shop or desire specific brands.
But I love this tibi colour wheel! I want one!
The fringe jacket and cowboy boots killed me 😂😂, yee-haw! Thanks for the tips, I’ll try the quiz. I grew up a tomboy but find that dresses suit me a lot better but I always feel like someone else.
giddy up!
Please tell me the maker of the pleated grey pants you wore. Looking for inward facing pleats, so much more flattering than the commonly found outward facing pleats. Thank you
Tibi Stella pants! The colored ones that aren’t in the “WOF” section on their site usually go on excellent sale around summertime
OMG those patent boots - what brand are they please?
Yes! More about this ❤️ I have been heavely inspired buy you, Signe and Alyssa. The only thing I can’t nail down is my three words as I both like to dress classical and bohimian but not together. So I have more of two different styles living in my wardrobe side by side. Is it possible to have two sets of three words? The bohimian style I have in dresses but only dresses. So I still can combin most things. I find that I have lots of words describing my cloths and that is confusing.
I understand the struggle. What I do is move the dresses to a separate part of the closet and leave them out of my style words. That way I can experiment and be creative with what dresses I buy, but they're one and done so I barely have to style them.
@@pajamamama5965 Well, but I use other things like boots, shoes, cardigans, blazers & jackets etc. from my wardrobe to style my dresses? So they are mixed in with everything else anyway…
@@evalindell2757 I see. Maybe you could use classic as one of your 3 words and then bohemian as 1 of your modifiers?
@@pajamamama5965 yes! Or I just have more words… I love my wardrobe and if this is my only struggle then I might just do it my way with two different sets of words or merge the two and have more words…
@@evalindell2757 I agree it's a little confusing if you're only supposed to have 3 words and then you get 2 more modifiers. To me it's a total of 5 words... My 3 words are classic, comfortable, and casual. The 3 C's LOL
Yes! You have really gotten it nailed down! Loove seeing your journey 👌❤️
I've really had to delay gratification until I can figure out my 3 words. It's tough because I like elements of styles that are so different from each other -- ex. cowboy boots and turquoise jewelry but I also like East Coast prep, classic French style, Southern preppy, and flowy, feminine skirts. But also I'm a stay at home mom of multiple kids, so my beloved blazers or crisp button ups aren't practical for everyday wear, but I'm enjoying the challenge of melding everything into my own style and elevating basics to fit both my lifestyle and style.
Wish lists are great tools if you have a certain type of clothing you need or want. It also helps when sales do come up and that saved item is up to 50% off. I never pay full retail for clothing. There must always be a discount or perk. Also since I'm no longer corporate I do not feel pressured into buying a certain type of apparel.
What was the app or link that helps you to define your style's 3 words? Thanks for your tips! ❤ from 🇨🇱
indyx! it's below and you can take the style quiz once downloaded (all free!)
What are these gorgeous earrings you are wearing around 11:37? Where can I buy them or something similar?
They’re from Pamela card! I always have a discount with her in my video description too 🥰
I love your candor. I used to dress more edgy with a lot moto details. In my defense, I do have a motorcyle, but it started to feel dated like I was walking out of a scene from Road House. I swung the other way and went more classic and ended up with a million button downs. I found my balance with a little ruffle here and there and a pop of color. I still love all my leather but I wear it to balance an outfit that may be too "fluffy." Thank you!!
I JUST watched the Road House remake yesterday! 😂 love that you found some good balance in your style!
@@Christinamychas LOL! thanks.
I have trouble wearing special occasion clothes in my everyday life. I think I may try harder!😅 By the way, I love that red on you.
I love it toooooo thank you!
Just dress down the look. Mix it up. It’s actually fun.
Christina, thank you so much for this content! Very helpful. Just one question: when it comes to colors are'nt you more a 'warm type' than a cool type? Red and black suits (in general) cooler types, and I think you're a warm type.
I’m more cool/neutral id say! Warm tones tend to make me look ill, esp with makeup !
I loved the arabic bag text :*
15:35 Йой, який гарний тризуб
I see you styling a lot of Tibi pieces lately. Could you do a review of the pieces and also on sizing?
I downloaded Indyx app and took the 3 word quiz. You are right, it was remarkably accurate! 🙀 I don't know if I am pleased or a bit sad that I am so predictable 😸😸 (it reminded me that I am super depressed that Dries Van Norton is retiring since he is one of my absolute favourite designers of all time)
here did you get the black dress, the silky one? I love that twenties look
It’s from KOTN! Linked below ❤️
Christina you have such a adorable and sweet voice and I am your biggest biggest fan you are my truly truly inspiration and I will support you so so much 🥹🥹♥️♥️♥️
Yes, finally someone who understands that minimalism does not mean lack of color.
💯!
Oh my gah!! Please tell me where you got the sunglasses you’re wearing at 6:52 ! For myself I am too tall for most pants and my arms are still to long for my height, hence most jackets, coats & shirts/blouses have never fit. I always look like I’m growing out of my clothes. That alone has made me feel like giving up. Sick of scrunching up all my sleeves, it’s not a good look for all sleeves. Wish I could dress like you and your two friends in the trip to London & Denmark video. ~kari in Victoria
I love since I've reduced my clothes i have more to wear.
so excited that you are doing styling consulting for others. I kept thinking that you should be a professional shopper for other people since you love fashion so much.
it's soooo much fun!
Can you explain fashion modifier a little more please
How do you keep your necklaces from tangling together?
I really don’t haha 😂
I like clothing brands with a environment commitment. Thank you for sharing this brand
KOTN are awesome!
Great video! I am going to wear my off white linen trousers around my 80 lb Aussie Doodle puppies (who love to get wet and dirty on our farm) and see how it goes. I’m tired of keeping things for later.
Leaning into opposite always takes a look from costume to fashion 💯
Can I please ask your lovely jewelry neckless love them. I think I lack those accessories.! Actually I know I do, are yours inexpensive? Please let me know love your videos !
They’re mejuri! A mix of gifted pieces from previous partnerships and ones I bought. I usually go 14k gold bc I never take them off!
Thank you kindly ❤
I spy those new metallic heels ❤
Could you give me a link for your sneakers with the black stripes, thanks. Amazon if possible
Adidas sambas!
Thanks, just ordered , they didn’t have women’s available but just ordered the men’s in a smaller size
Christina I have narrowed down my 3 words… but how do I translate the word ELAVATED into my wardrobe/outfits? Even MODERN.. I really struggle to find pieces that represent these? Hence my wardrobe is just full of CLASSICS 🥹please help! Btw when is your next collab with Signe and Allysa ❤️
I think it’s less about the item and more about how it makes you feel! What can you do to hair, jewelry, styling, shape etc that makes you FEEL more elevated in those classics? Maybe it’s an earring, a bag, a layer etc - trial and error and taking notes!
@@Christinamychas thanks so much! I never thought of it that way 😅
Loved the 1st principal, really new to me, and I might already do the wrong shoe unintentionally as comfort is 1 of my 3 words. I'm afraid that the slip dress doesn't suit you that's why you style it by covering it. The suit and black tank is your best look👌
❤
I definitely would wear a ball gown to the grocery store on a dare. Maybe visit the TP 🧻 section. lol
iconic! ✨✨
😂
😀
