I asked 10 stylish women about their MUST-HAVE wardrobe staples, this is what they said

- THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who participated in this video! I love them, their style, and I hope you all get as inspired by them as I am every single day.
I asked 10 different female creatives what their wardrobe essentials are and why. Each one of them has a different style, lifestyle, and career, so I think there's something for everyone here. Some wardrobe essentials are similar, while others are wildly different, but each essential is SO personal to them, and I'd never say that one woman looks the same as the other, even if the essentials are the same. Each piece serves a purpose, and is true to them. This to me is the essence of personal style!
Make sure you WATCH UNTIL THE END because I'm sure you'll see some new but also some familiar faces! Be sure to follow all of them on their respective socials for ongoing inspiration and top notch content!

ABOUT ME:🌿
I'm Christina, friendly neighbourhood human on the internet slash pharmacist. You may have previously known me as Style Apotheca. I'm living in Toronto, Canada and on my channel you'll find me on my journey towards minimalism, being content with less, recovery from a shopping addiction, and my journey towards financial freedom from over $120,000 in student loan debt. Thank you SO much for watching and taking the time out of your day to support my channel. A little thumb always helps support me! - Jak na to + styl
I hope you learned something new from all the wonderful women in todays video! What are your wardrobe essentials?
White booties, jeans (so original) & a cotton loose fitting tee 👌
This winter, hoodies have really been having a moment in my wardrobe.
Year round though, I love a good cardigan. I can wear them casually with a t shirt and look casual, or wear them with a tank top and effortlessly look done up. They're also great with a dressier shirt!
Wool Coat or Leather Jacket, Merinos Wool Sweaters, High Doc Martens or Black Booties.
Slip dresses, high neck tops to layer in the winter months and pearls
Highwaisted jeans (yep, I'm original too!), men's shirts and my Doc Martens, the Jean-Michel Basquiat edition. ❤️
This is such a cool concept for a video and so impressed with the people you got to include! What a level up in content and a way to start 2023 with a bang, yayy christina! ✨🥳🎉
YAY IT'S UP!!!! What a beautiful video! Thank you so much for including me, Christina!
Yayyyyy love! Thank you SO much for taking the time to be a part of it! So inspired by you! Happy new year! ❤️❤️
It was very cool to see you pop up and I cant believe how well you included very poignant keywords for your style. Also for a moment I thought my autoplayer switched to the next recommended video 😆
I loved your segment.
I'm following you now--love your style (and your bangs!)
Thank you for letting me contribute to this video, it was such an honour to be featured here on your channel among such wonderful ladies ❤️ love how it turned out!
Thank you for being a part of it! Love!! ❤❤
I was excited to see you on here. I haven't watched you in awhile but that will change. I'm headed to your channel to catch up.
Wardrobe essential which no one mentioned - a fantastic haircut. 😊
I love your channel and the idea for this video! I hope you'll do more because it would be great to see more diverse interpretations of "staples" - apart from Hannah and Mee, all these are lovely women but they're all pretty samey - white t shirt / jeans / jacket / neutrals... I'd like to believe that it is possible to be minimal yet still have a bold look or style with adventurous shapes and colours (like Hannah). Not all of us look good in classic garments or a white t shirt and jeans. Not a criticism, just really loving your journey but feel like all minimalist content I see is telling me I have to wear this same "uniform".
100% with you in your comment. I loved that they're from different parts of the worlds -but a more diverse style collection would have been exciting. just to.. find new new perspectives and unexpected combinations of 'essentials'. Uniforms are ok, but in the end some classic uniforms start to look too similar.
I was going to comment something along the same lines.
I loved the video, don't get me wrong. But from 10 woman we got maybe 10 different "staples", 3 of them being jeans, white t-shirts and blazers in neutral colors.
This is incredibly sad, as it gives the impression that you can't have any creativity in a minimalist wardrobe.
Look up Daria Andronescu, she does capsule wardrobes that are jam packed with colour and personality!
@Trinity M Okey, yes I see you, it's a good point and it wouldnt be a 'basic' staple in ones wardrobe if you couldn't combine, match and mix it easily.
But at the same time Im thinking... Why not take your example? Maybe to someone a red pair of pants (maybe not leather) is their staple and essential and they have build an easily wearable wardrobe with it. Red is their neutral. (As for me Bordeaux & Dark Grey are my neutrals as I don't find blue jeans suit me)
Im not talking about novelties, Im really talking about basic clothes they can wear with almost anything.
Example: My basic isn't a white shirt, its a black tshirt (or more specific the best for me is a vneck/waterfall black top, it suits me best, it matches to any other clothing piece I wear, when in doubt I fall back on these but its very essential but basic in my wardrobe)
@Trinity M I think this is where this community fails to get the point across- most people seem to be doing both classic AND neutral and color/pattern is often an occasional pop or relegated to something that it's 'possible' to work with yet we rarely see anyone doing it. It's one of those things that keeps reinforcing itself, in that people who are drawn to neutrals seem more inclined to make a capsules, that's what's seen, and what gets replicated.
If you live in a colder climate the only reason I see red leather jeans as a bad staple is that cleaning them could be impractical, otherwise the color could easily be worked into a harmonious palette (reds, purples, browns for something tonal or primaries) where it would get a ton of wear, since it's just an elevated casual piece. It makes sense that comfort, casual, and practical often overlaps with classic, but with the amount of effort being put in the lack of color is kind of strange and does make everything look very same-y.
What an incredible bunch of women! Feeling very honoured to have been a part of this video, thanks so much Christina and Happy New Year!! xx
Great tip Immy and great video Christina! Happy new year to you both!
Thank you for taking the time to be a part of it, Immy! Happy 2023!
Immy I was so thrilled to see you in this list! Love your content as well!
OMG You are such a rocket Christina! Thank you SO much for including me in this video and allowing me to contribute amongst these incredible creators! HONOURED! LOVE YOU! xx
Love youuuuuu!!!! You’re such a breath of fresh air 🥰🥰
Loved seeing you on here as I love following your content over on your channel ;) Especially loved the thrift video in Portugal (I am Portuguese) and trying to help Portuguese women find their style and be overall more conscious of what they buy. (It's a process, I started this channel talking about cloth diapers!). Have a wonderful year!
Yay Alyssa!
This is awesome! Everyone is unique, but one thing they all had in common is they all dress for comfort/wear clothes they feel good in. As a physical therapist, that is what matters most to me in my work wardrobe, inclusive of clothes that move with me and that are modest, as I work with kids. This video is so inspiring!
Yes, I believe that the best combination formula is to look beautiful yet feel comfortable the best recipe for feeling confident with yourself!
This feels like a Disney crossover episode with all your favourite characters. Great video!
😂😂 amazing!
I was expecting Leena Norms to be in this!! She recently did a really cool series examining her style, sustainability and her relationship with her wardrobe. I felt the "jeans, tshirt and a blazer" was an over-represented style and IS actually trendy, but it makes sense since it's the creators who match your own style.
Not to criticise this video - I think it's great - but a quirkier style was slightly underrepresented as well as plus size women. Leena Norms is great, Shelbizleee, Outfit Repeater, Lauren McKinney... come to my mind.
@@melligolightly I will look for those girls you talked about, as I really like Leena and her style.
I am trying to get more sustainable and maybe begin a capsule wardrobe, but it's frustrating that every single person I look up as a reference for a capsule just wears the same basic neutral (and to me, very boring) thing. I am on the verge of accepting it's just not possible to have color and fun in your wardrobe and care about consumerism
It's absolutely possible to have a colourful capsule wardrobe!
@@amandalarissavieira7428 Also look at Daria Andronescu! She basically teaches how to create a very personal, colourful capsule wardrobe and shows many examples on her channel.
@@pialupa thanks. I just looked up at some of her videos, and she is amazing 🤩
One of my favorite videos you’ve made! Would love to see the same kind of format but with some of your subscribers who have found their personal style, but are not influencers. I think that would be really cool too :).
I follow Beltempo and Poston. I love their personality and style.
Comfort is mentioned by almost all of them. I think what they meant was authenticity, not wearing something they are not comfortable with. One person’s comfort may be different than the next. It is not sweat shirt and jogger pants all day and night. A slinky dress may be comfortable and staple for some but absolutely no-no for others.
I enjoyed this video so much!!
The perfect kick-off to a new year!
What I noticed is that most of the ladies described their style as casual and included comfort as one of their top requirements. If I was told at the start of the video, “This is a list of women who prefer a casual style and build their wardrobes for comfort,” I would have imagined in my mind a sloppy, disheveled, and bland wardrobe. Instead these women looked very put-together and beautiful. They all exuded confidence and I think it’s from doubling-down on what works for their lifestyle, their body and their taste. What an inspiring video!!! Thank you Christina for such a wonderful collaboration of ladies!!!
Yessss this nails it!
I think the most valuable pieces of advise I've learned from minimalist / fashion vloggers is to think about a color palette and to give yourself some extra room in your clothes. I feel like this particularly became an issue for me when I gained weight. There was resistance to upsize when necessary, but as I lost weight and many of my pants did not become too big, but better fitting I understood how nice it is to not be squeezed into too tightly fitting pants. I've always gone for a more loose-fitting top.
Also, I feel like saying I like jeans or leggings and a t shirt or a hoodie was frowned upon for years. Like that's a poor formula for style and invalid. It is often what I like, but I also really enjoy a nice cardigan. I feel like I can wear them casually or dress an outfit up with them. I really love that duality.
Probably my favourite video of yours yet!! Would love to see more of these!! I don’t always relate to certain style bloggers or influencers because obviously I have my own unique taste and lifestyle needs, so it was so nice to see how different people interpret their style and express it. Seeing different styles than the creators I already follow was so inspiring!! 🙌🏻
It's a good one!
Women celebrating women - this was beautiful to watch!
HLP❤️❤️❤️ just the dulcet tones of her made-for-ASMR voice and her creative-intellectual thoughtful perspective send me ❤️ And I just love her aesthetic. No one else in the space comes close to expressing what I want as well as she does. I’m a hardcore fan.
My personal wardrobe essentials would have to be chunky heels with a creative flair, statement accessories, and animal print. I need a little of each to elevate my basics.
I feel the same.
This was sooo incredibly amazing to watch and hear. I love everyone personal perspectives !
Thanks so much, Christina. Loved this video. You featured a few of my current faves and a few new people that I am now following. I love the current message that so many content creators are saying… about starting with our own closet. And what Amy Smilovic says… wear your clothes. ❤️❤️
Omg I’m also obsessed with Amy! Haha so glad you enjoyed!
It was great seeing Signe and Alyssa among those 10 stylish women you appreciate, I follow them too)
Women supporting each other is lovely to see, some wonderful ideas ! 😊 thank you Christina Mychas
Well done .Everyone on here brings something different to the table yet so relatable
What an amazing treat to also see @hannalouiseposton on here 😍 👏
Such a treat! She inspired
My first no buy so I was fangirling ❤
@@Christinamychas I found her about two months ago and I'm about 150 videos in ❤️ I found you through her channel 🙋♀️
Such a great video! Someone else to add to this list is Emily Wheatley, The Edgy Minimalist. She has great style and lots of great tips. Thanks again!
Emily is indeed amazing. But we know DAMN WELL her answer would echo those in the video. It's white t shirt, a denim and a Blazer. I'm just coming from a video of hers where she stated that. Rsrsrs
@@amandalarissavieira7428 maybe the white tee and denim... But she'd add something to make it edgy, probably in her footwear.
What I find interesting is how people can take those basic elements and make them different just by choosing a different cut or fit, though I was surprised Alyssa Beltempo didn't pick a button-down shirt as one of her own basics.
A great overview of some of my favorites. Thank you for taking the time to collaborate with them. A couple that I love that I did not see: A to Zen, Connie Riet, Emma Hill, and Eugena Diaz. I know you can't feature everyone, and creating content takes time outside of your everyday life, but, I thought I would share in case they were not on your radar already. They have a range of styles like others you featured, but, I learned something from all of them. Thanks again!
Loved all the Ladies guests! Found a lot of inspiration! But one thing you all repeated which is true not just in fashion is to know yourself well 😍 and since people change over the years, I find this a really exciting journey 🥰
This might be my favorite video from you so far! Been following for a while and you’ve definitely become my favorite CZcamsr/ content creator. Your videos are so inspiring, helpful and creative! Keep up the great work! Wishing you a happy 2023 🎉
Christina blessed us on this first day of 2023.
This was awesome that you featured all these great creators! I love Hannah Louise Piston!
Christina, thank you for being a woman’s woman and sharing your platform. It was very illuminating seeing all the different styles.
So many wonderful and familiar faces. Great video, Christina!
I love the lifting up of other women creators that this video gives.
What an amazing start to 2023! It struck me how many times comfort came up. Still trying to pin my 3 style words down but I'm getting there! Thanks for the consistently thought provoking content x
LOVE the women you chose!!! 🤩
Me too! So inspired by them!
AWESOME video!!! Christina your idea of creating this video says a LOT about you….. You are uniquely generous willing to share with all of us, kind, and just VERY COOL……. Thank you and may 2023 bring abundance and prosperity to you!!!🙏🏾🌹💖
After watching this, I thoughtfully honed down some words to describe my style and use going forward:
Clean, easy, nautical, and secondhand (thanks to Immy, for making thrifting cool!)
My sole colors are shades of blue/white/pink.
I feel most like myself when Im in a white top and jeans, and reverse those colors in the spring and summer.
Awesome video collab!
Do you ever thrift online or do you just thrift in person?
Really enjoyed this! I'd love to see a follow up where you talk about your own thoughts on the different perspectives we saw here, as well - has it given you any additional insight into your own style/wardrobe, what were the themes you found most interesting, etc. (Not that I can't do my own analysis, just that I'd like to hear yours!)
I LOVED THIS- such a refreshing way to do a collaboration and I found some new to me creators. So well done ladies
Thank you for this!! I enjoy your content so much. It’s nice to see this lineup of beautiful women looking chic, confident, and cool while not one using their fashion to prioritize the male gaze. You all look incredible and I’ve left this video feeling re-inspired for the year of fashion ahead.
I loved the collab you did with Alyssa Beltempo on her channel.
It’s funny that denim is a wardrobe essential to so many women. I eliminated denim in my wardrobe 7 years ago. To me it was the most important decision.
But I really love your channel and especially this video. Great idea!
What a lovely idea for a video! I love that you did this 🙂
Great content and such an awesome format! I love the generosity of highlighting other stylists so we can learn from them as well.😊🙏
Wow! What an awesome video bringing together some brilliant insights from these stylish ladies! 👏
This was such an interesting video idea! Definitely some thought provoking answers to your questions. I love hearing from others about their personal style and their go-tos. I found a few new people to follow.
As an aside, one of the contributors has so many haul videos and when I took a look, their entire channel seems to be about buying things. Just an observation. She seemed so incongruous alongside the others.
Couldn't agree more to both parts of your comment. This video has introduced me to several new channels I'm eager to learn from. One channel however definitely stands out from the others and feels heavily focused on consuming and spending.
i like how everyone encourage being theirselves
Oooooh good idea!!! And yes me too 🥰🥰
Beautiful Jewel Box. Loved this❣
Christina, you have made a classic video about style here. I love how thoughtful these women are. Congratulations!
Not me excited to see some of my favorite content creators on a video of one of my favorite content creator😍✨️
Absolutely loved this video, Christina!! Definitely found all these women so inspiring and followed a few that I didn’t know before. Thank you so much and Happy New Year! 💕

Thank you for sharing this video. It was nice to be introduced to some creative women I haven’t come across before and I appreciated their style advice.
Best video I've seen so far this year😀 (and probably last year too.. so good, so fun to watch and get to know all these amazing creators)
Thank you for putting this video together
Really enjoyed this concept. It was original. Thank you
This is a very nice video. I'm Generation X, but a college prof, so I like to think I'm a little more "with it" in terms of clothes for younger people than most older folks. I am still trying to figure out the differences in style between a lot of the popular vloggers. It seems a lot like the "preppy" days of the 80's and early 90's. I love that look, but I can't see much individuality coming out of it today. Not being critical at ALL. I just sincerely want to know what the thinking is around being really "out there" in terms of fashion today.
What a fantastic idea, Christina! I love you and Alyssa, so it was great to hear from some other interesting and knowledgeable women. Thank you for doing this😍
This was excellent!
This is awesome- great women support great women👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
really great concept and am following many of them. thank you!
I have been following your channel for years. Not big on commenting. Such a great content and inspiration. This video was really great and so refreshing content. Keep going.
Thank you so much!
What a great video. I am happy to say that I follow at least 4 of your guests and will have to follow the others too. Well done.
What an awesome roundup! Personal style is so unique and this collection of ladies is such a great example of that!
This is a brilliant video Christina! Brava
Thank you so much for bringing all these inspiring women together in one video! Some old friends and lots of new discoveries.
LOVED this video!!!
Such a good video with great creators! Great idea! Thank you for putting this together!
Loved this video. Christina, you are the BEST!!!!
Love this so much!
Amazing!! Thank you, I know it was probably a lot of work to coordinate all of this. Cool way to start the year!
Fabulous. Glad that jeans, tee and blazer seem to be the common thread as that’s exactly my style but good to see the odd alternative from some of the people you featured. Love your content. Happy new year 🎉
What amazing women to follow and learn from! This is a gift. Thank you Christina!
