This is so interesting! I can also attest to Kibbe body typing (and colour analysis) being really helpful to people who sew. I've been a seamstress for over 20 years and It has definitely helped me with pattern selection. Now I also understand why I have always gravitated towards structured fabrics and tailored things (I'm a dramatic). If you google 'Sew Your Kibbe' there is a series of blog posts that have sewing pattern recommendations for each Kibbe ID. It's also useful even if you already have your patterns because you get great examples of the lines and styles for each type.

I also had the experience of recognizing that my color analysis reflected some of my essence blend. I am a bright winter and during my analysis the person analyzing me notes that summer colors were very calming in me but weren’t “enough”, but I have a lot of ethereal in my blend and it was interesting to see how colors played on my facial features. When we were trying winter drapes it was noted that the dark winter colors were too heavy on me and either “hid” me or looked like “dressing up”. The true winter colors flattened me out. During the bright winter drapes it was noted that they really brought my sparkle back. I need some “playfulness”. I’ve suspected for a while I have gamine or ingenue in my blend and I could really see it come out with the bright winter colors. Bright spring colors had the same effect on me except obviously the warmth of the season wasn’t right, but the nature of the colors brought out that playful side. I wasn’t expecting so much insight during a color analysis and I am so glad I finally went in person. This was a great interview and I resonated with a lot of her story. It’s definitely a journey and it can take a while to fit all the pieces together

Thanks to your video interview with Gizelle; I took Ellie-Jean’s quiz and what I did was to take the words of mushroom, mountain, sun and flower and I found that mushroom describes my use of neutrals. Mountain for the draping and structure that looks best on me, the sun for my statement and bling jewellery, and flower describing the fabrics that are best for me.

You really do look so good in the bright spring color palette. I’ve started learning about color seasons about 1 year or so ago. And you really do shine in the BS colors you’re using now! Also, I have watched a ton of your videos and really enjoyed this one as well. I’d love to see more of this type of thing. A super great video! I feel like I am a summer, but the clearer colors look harsh, most soft summer pallets are too rosy, sweet. I always wished I was a winter, but I couldn’t be. I love the dark colors, like a dark, soft summer. So it always confuses me. And about the essences, it makes me everything so much easier when you can be multiple ones.

The height thing in Kibbe is tough for those of us 5'4" -5'5" or slightly shorter. I know I am not Gamine. That leaves Romantic. I do have a large bust, but I do not have petite features & my waist to hip ratio is not big. I settled on Soft Natural since I had already figured out that soft tailoring worked for me & I had fairly square shoulders & a wide rib cage. A longer, unbroken vertical line looks best on me. Romantic lines aren't bad & I don't mind feminine touches like lace trim but full on "girlie" clothing is not me. I prefer darker, richer, earthy colors & neutrals to anything too light & bright (warm spring/warm autumn) & I still wear black but not as much if there is a better option. I avoid grey & cool, soft colors which look horrible on me. Pretty sure I am Natural/Romantic/Dramatic.

LOVED THIS! I actually think when we have more essences it actually makes it harder to pinpoint, but once you crack that it makes such a difference!! For me I think I am about I 30% G 30% N 15% R 15% E 10%. Or at least that is the break down I use for the elements I see as suiting me etc. But to begin with I thought I was GND and also GRD/N. It is so confusing when we laser focus on one aspect of ourselves, we also become blind to who we are. The moment I knew I was onto something was my graduation. I felt like I incorporated all of my essences, and my photography looked at me strangely for a moment and was like ".....your outfit matches your face ?? does that make sense?" I am wondering though about consultations with Andrea, how much do they cost? I can't find any details online.

Notice how pocahontas isn't wearing something giant and flowy. I think i'm a flamboyant natural, but I look terrible when I wear big flowy stuff. I have to wear things close to my body or it makes me look big. I've got a bigger butt and hips and the big shoulders, of course, I look so much better when I wear things slim to my body. What do you think about other flanboy? Naturals, like princess diana, she's always wearing fitted dresses. I wish somebody would talk about this.

Yes i think this is def my 3rd essence after this video! Im new to essences so I had ruled it out straight off bat as Im not Kibbe dramatic or overly sharp. And also from your natural video i didnt think i fit the nomad (my other esscences are natural and romantic) or have that same dark dramatic vibe as you (my colouring is much lighter, more like Julia Roberts). But i am always craving a bit of 'edgy sexiness' in my looks that I could never really pin down as well as loving bold elongated earrings, bright colours and clashing coats etc so I think this is my 3rd essence! Also the soft natural recs are 3 outfits I own pretty spot on 😂 (hot pink for the bold outfit dress though and a longer sweater dress with a side split for the dress option) haha. Also side note, the soft natural suggesstion for all 3 of my essences was pretty spot on which has confirmed my soft natural too!

This video is brilliant. Made me noticing, in my case, there is a lack of alignment between the way I feel, perceive and imagine my identity from inside, and the way I arrange how I look from outside. With the time I became really proficient at making my appearence nicely looking from outside. I know my body type, my color season, I have a sense of fashion, and I know that certain esthetics look good on me. Nevertheless... I always worked from the point of view of a mirror. Like going outside of my own gaze to look at my eyes (sorry... It's getting philosophical). This video is amazing because it questions and solves this fracture. First it indirectly pushes you to investigate your authentic needs, by finding the phantasy in which you are more likely to have them fulfilled. Then it guides you on how to realign your image from outside with this phantasy (at this point more like well designed vision board of your sincere wishes). I am very sure that the integration of this with that will make the daily life more similar to the performance of a ritual, or truthful manifestation/realization of actual self. It is fashion advise embracing, performative turn, psychology, exposure work, and subconscious reprogramming techniques. Impressive!!!!!

I think 3’s work better if you have pieces that don’t fully go together like the different browns in the accessories when it’s only 2 (shoes & bag) the two different browns create a break in the rhythm but when you have 3 items in different browns it turns them all into half notes, the intentionality makes it more dynamic and increases the tempo of the look.
