Thank you! I just had to replace my oil seal behind that little bastard and I got it mixed up -wasnt sure how it went back on but I got it now!! I think I will experiment with it too since I have a spare- I'm going to file about 1mm out of the trailing wall of that keyway (on the magnet) and see if I advance my timing a hair.

I have a brand new build, everything is spot on, compression is excellent, the clutch does not slip carb is nice and tings no air leaks and still not running. I can bet it will be bad timing. I'll check tomorrow hopefully my days of frustration with this engine is over.

Thank you! I think I put the magnet back in the wrong way, also it has a few degress play, because the woodruff key is not perfect, I guess that was my problem, because my engine runs well until, I release the clutch, then the engine lacks power. It used to be perfect before I took out the magnet. I guess it got weak, because the spark came too late, and the explosion didn't push the piston enough. However that's my theory, I don't know what really causes the loss of power.

it makes your timing wrong. It sparks when the on is at the bottom and not the top. Therefor no fire because there's no compression.

dest151 If assembled correctly, and 25:1 oil/fuel ratio is used, and the carburettor jetting is correctly optimised for the atmospheric conditions in your locality, these Chinese bicycle engines are surprisingly reliable, if they are not over revved.

somebody needs to start producing magnets with the keyway in positions deferring by one degree a few one way or the other or produce a magnet which can be adjusted. after certain work is done to these engines many can benifit from advancing the timing a few degrees

I never heard that. I wouldn't be surprised. The air filters are useless, sucking in dirt every second. That's not good. Engine cylinder wear and scarring. I made my own foam air filter and treated it with foam filter oil like in motorcycles. I am hoping I get a good life from this motor. I would highly recommend replacing that absolutely useful air filter immediately with a foam one. Just saying . Peace
