      @silentwraith5706 Heartland was going to be a one and done play through. A watered-down version of the franchise. The only way that it would have been worth playing is if we imported our current characters. It's just basically an extra mission in a new map. Why is everyone so upset about something that none of us asked for in the first place.

    It's a shame they couldn't have taken some of what they had done for Heartland and at least wrapped it into some more Division 2 content. I think the core gameplay idea was solid. I played a bit during the beta and it felt fun. It was another Ubisoft 'lets jump on this trend and then take way too long to release it' type of situation (similar to their Ghost Recon based battle royale) and ultimately they realise the product needs much more spent on it than they had planned to be a fully standalone title but i think as a piece of free content for Division 2 it would have been more than fine.

    Let's see how safe those IP's are if Star Wars Outlaws flops. The game industry appears to be in shambles right now in terms of game sales. I don't think Ubisoft knows that they're sitting on a gold mine with The Division. IMO they should drop everything and only focus on rainbow 6 and The Division franchises. Those are the only games that I currently play. I haven't messed with an Assassins Creed game since AC syndicate. I didn't like how they turned the AC series into an RPG looter. I loved the Ezio series, AC IV: Black Flag and AC syndicate though.

      Division just doesn't have enough content or replayability compared to say a Fallout 76, it pains me to say as I love the gameplay but it's just never interesting when I login. Nothing to really do or chase compared to a game with open world exploration. Fallout isn't anywhere near perfect it's a buggy mess but it's way more enjoyable then coming back to Division that lacks high replayability.

      @@HarlinQuinnX negative. The Division just more repetitive. Fallout is more survival. You can make your own base and put it almost anywhere. The Division you can't.
      You can't even make a camp, drink water, or eat as a metric. You just run out and do missions. Fallout you can see other players, help them, do events with up to 20+ players. The Division is locked to raids. Maybe 1 or 2 of them and just for 8 players. Fallout has way more raids called events. Just much more to do and figure out puzzles

    Ubisoft had been working on Heartland since 2019 and gave positive reassurances and affirmations for Heartland until about 3-4 months ago. A software company MUST be positive as long as a project is underway. Also, look at the people on the Heartland team who were completely blindsided by the cancellation. Having a dev say that everything is fine means NOTHING. They are the last to know when a project is being cancelled. Management needs them to continue to believe everything is ok in order to not let information leak to the public. I have been in both situations...on a dev team and hearing that my project is cancelled and as management withholding information from a dev team until the company is ready to make the decision public. That is just how it works. In my very last job as a product manager, my team had been working on a major product update until the day we were all laid off.

      That’s quite sad to read. You basically don’t want new costumers for (maybe idk) one of your favorite games. You gotta think further, if it doesn’t flop and the mobile players like it they might try out the other division games, like Div2 and 1. That means more players=the franchise won’t die out. But go on i guess I already read like 20 of these Ooga booga comments.

    • @kamakrazi
      @kamakrazi Před 16 dny +1

      @@_Pan_s_Waknss_ I will repeat myself, as I have so many times... "WE DO NOT WANT MOBILE GAMES!" It is a waste of resources and becomes a micro transaction hell. You want to know why they are struggling? Because they make bad decisions for the gamers. They think about lining their pockets before they think about creating content that players actually want. Something like, killing off main characters nonchalantly, only to un-alive them later with some made up bs about "oh, well you didn't actually check to see if they were dead." crap. THAT is what kills a franchise. And to be quite honest, I'd rather it die, than they desecrate it. TD1 was legendary. It had its quarks, and bugs, and issues. But they intentionally broke it to push players to TD2, and we went. And then they abandoned the IP, for nearly 2 years... Now they've come crawling back to the dedicated few that actually love what this game USED to be. Ya, the dev's now are trying with what they've been given. But stop wasting resources and funds on mobile crap. No one learned from Diablo Immortal because feeble minded people went ahead and bought into the micro transactions of a tiny screen and limited battery life. I didn't build a badass gaming pc to play a crappy mobile game. I don't want it, the majority of the community doesn't want it. And "mobile gamers" aren't real gamers. They do not represent us, and they never will.

Game companies will understand that money just isn't there, we want fresh titles and updates for Grindy PVE games. RG it has been disappointing but some Division Content Creators whose name I won't mention because you all know who I am talking about will milk the hell out of Heartland being cancelled with a series of 2-hour videos just to milk it to make money and I despise these people because they are not true Division Content Creators they are doing it for the money and the money only.
    To me RG It makes a lot of sense to use Heartland and work off this for Division 3 as they did with THE RIFT which was meant to be the final DLC for Valhalla but we got a new Assassin’s Creed Mirage instead and to me as a coder and somebody who can game code it does make a lot of sense to do this if you already got a good storyboard that you can expand on and a working map that can be expanded with development it makes a lot of sense to me to use what you already have.
    What I'm also annoyed about with the cancellation of Heartland are those who will milk this for clickbait and for making money from long videos no introduction is needed who will be doing this. ? But the emotional response of Heartland has angered me a little. 2 and a half years ago I came very close to dying if it wasn't for my common sense and initiative to go to A&E/ER and book myself into be seen I have told in the early hours of the morning that I had a middle heart attack I spent 10 days in the hospital and 5 out of 10 they didn't know what caused my heart rate to shoot up to 136 beats per minute standing still and it turned out after tests and scans that I didn't have a heart attack it was much worse I had a Pulmonary Embolism and if I hadn't gone to A&E when I did I would have been dead by the end of the week. My perspective on gaming has changed a lot and considering what happened lately with my wife I couldn't care less if a game has been cancelled or an expansion. There are more important things in life to worry about than a game. I'm not having a go at you far from it buddy you're probably one of the honest Division Content Creators out of the Division community and that is why like your content you're upfront and honest and you don't milk your videos.
