- The end is near y'all! I now have 8 more shifts and 2 more weeks of residency left. I'm so excited for this next chapter and can't wait for you all to join me on it!
I'm Precious, an Emergency Medicine resident physician sharing my experiences through medicine and life. Through my channel I hope to show that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed throughout the journey, not only at the final destination. Along the way, I hope to provide advice to students and motivation to anyone pursuing a career in the medical field.

Congratulations on becoming an attending physician 🎉. I love forward to watching you enjoy your fruits of labor. You can do anything you put your mind and effort into. In the future, I would love to see you do videos on your career as an attending physician. For that reason, their are many physicians in training doing youtube about their journey but their are very very few on CZcams as an attending physician.

Congrats! That is so exciting that you are close to the finish line. I'm graduating from med school in a year and am trying to figure out how to best manage my finances going into residency soon-ish. It would be great to see a video on how you were able to budget, afford property, etc. as you transitioned from student to resident!!

I work in UC. Oddly, this year many of our positive streps are presenting with URI symptoms. We always run PCRs for accuracy. Congratulations!! Well done!
That is so interesting! Do y’all send off cultures as well?
@@WhiteCoatChroniclesCultured only if positive. We only run a rapid, (with culture) if it's close to closing time or we are short on Eswabs (which happens sometimes). Influenza and Covid are typically PCR too. We have labs on site, so they turn them around in an hour.
I had the same illness! I tested positive for strep and started feeling better on antibiotics, but then maybe day 5 I started feeling worse again. I don’t know if I had some viral secondary something, but the sore throat came back with a cough that didn’t go away for WEEKS, that turned into bronchitis. I had to get steroids and an inhaler. I also got serous otitis media in both ears, and both ruptured, annnd thennn got a secondary bacterial otitis media in my left ear and had to do a second round of antibiotics. I hope yours doesn’t get as bad as mine!! This has been the illness that won’t go away.
