Congratulations 🎉, Dr. Precious , im considering going to college at 32 to be a psychiatrist ( startingfrom the very beginning) . Do you think it's too old to start? I have no children and not married maybe thats an advantage what are your thoughts, thank you .
It’s a pretty personal decision. There are people who choose medicine as a second career. It’s a long journey. Undergrad, plus med school plus residency is 12 years. It all depends on how passionate you are about the career, if you’re willing to be on such a long journey, willing to take on the debt and the sacrifices. I usually say if there’s anything else that you love more as far as other career options, then maybe choose that route. It’s definitely doable to start at where you are, but it comes down to if you’re willing to sacrifice all those years and have delayed gratification
