- This motor began life as a 1971 Lightwin. It was resurrected using parts from various year motors Evinrude and Johnson. it turned out to be a really nice runner and will make a great backup motor to take along in the boat.
I love that sound of an outboard motor. I can smell the gas too! Thanks for putting these videos up there!
Me too. Thank you and thanks for watching!
@@oldjohnnyrude8404 Sounds like you are in Michigan. I am up in Newaygo County.
@@misbwb Yes, I am in Michigan also. You're a few hours from me.
glade your back on the water again, miss you and Ben. am a 85 yr vet that enjoy this stuff., all are lake in the area still have ice and snow on them, and looks like they will for another 45/60 day.{southern Utah.} looking forward for more to come., thank again for the great videos.
It's great to be back out there. The lake at out cabin up north just opened up last week too. Looking forward to getting up there on the lake again as well. I'll probably be getting some out this year that have not been run in a while. Thanks for watching!
Happy to see the lake run vids!
I was great to get out on the water again and make a few new videos for the season. Thanks for watching!
Still got my grandfather’s four horse Evinrude circa 1967 (I think). It looks very similar to this. Ran it around the lake last weekend, still runs like a Swiss watch
These are great little motors. I really like them and use one of mine for a backup kicker quite often. The weak point of these, in my opinion, is the rewind starter. If you're gentle with the starter, it will serve you well for a very long time. It's extra cool that it was your grandfather's motor. Enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
You saved a good motor.
I'm quite happy with this one. I have another one of these that I will get out this year and another one I will be picking up this summer. Thanks for watching!
I've got this exact engine. It was my grandfather's, I've not gotten the two knob tuning down. Do you think you could either make a video of how to do that or tell me what to do. I can get it to run but doesn't seem to run just right.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Psychedelic your channel is great!
This is the video I did a couple years ago on dialing in a 2-circuit OMC carburetor. The video was done on an 18hp, but it is the same process. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
😃👍
Thanks for watching!
I have a bunch of these
They're great little motors. I'm not as much of a fan of the later steering swivel on these and the starters are not the best design, but I do like them a lot. Thanks for watching!
OK, about the same as the Eska, just smoother and quieter
Yes, close to the same performance, but much more pleasant to run. Thanks for watching!
