    Awesome setup! What size fan are you using on the condenser?

      Thanks! The fan is a 10" low profile SPAL fan I got of Amazon.

    Clean build wondering if you know what pulley I need for AC/ power steering doing both in my build and wasn’t sure if I would just have to use a ep3 idler pulley or if I have to use another one sorry for the noob question lol

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  Před 2 lety +2

      The EP3 pulley is only if you want to delete power steering because the EP3 had electric power steering. If you want both AC and power steering you would just use the stock tensioner that bolts below the power steering pump. So in total you would have:
      - Crank Pulley
      - Water pump
      - Power Steering
      - AC
      - Tensioner
      - Alternator
      And you should ideally try to match them all up. For example if you have an RSX crank pulley you should ideally have the rest of the accessories be RSX.
      For my build I used an Accord crank pulley so my water pump & alternator are from an Accord as well. Unfortunately I could not find AC fittings for the accord AC compressor so I had to use the RSX one. Since the RSX compressor pulley is smaller it will spin faster which might be an issue at really high RPM but will just have to find out.

      @@e-dod oh so that's why he reccomends a k20 ac compressor? Because the fittings are different? If I could talk to you on Instagram or somewhere please let me know, I'm on the same page as you and was actually about to order a full size rad hybrid and the tuck kit because I seen someone tuck a csf/hybrid rad in an ek,

      @@Ravi-wm8yw I have actually seen a few people recommend against using the K20/RSX AC compressor on a K24 because the RSX AC pulley is smaller and it will spin faster. But others say it will be fine. I wanted to run the Accord AC compressor but when I looked at pictures of the Accord compressor it looked like the fittings I have would not work.
      BTW, I opened Instagram a few days ago @edod.garage. I don't really know how to use it tho but you can msg me there 😂

    I know this is 7 months old, but I don't see any updates on the ac. How much hose did you end up using for the 6/8/10?
    I'm running a tucked radiator and speedfactory angled catch can so I'll need to customize mine. I'm thinking of using ebay k swap fitting adapters, Aeroquip fittings, and Vibrant PTFE braided hoses. Hopefully, this helps you or someone else with their build if they want to go this route. There's cheaper ways but this would give it a better look.

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  Před rokem +1

      I would get the kswap adapters from ebay. Never heard of the aeroquip stuff. I got all my stuff from coldhose.com. Its just sitting in a box until I get the engine back in. I tore the car apart for a full restoration before completing the AC. When I get the engine back in (in upcoming weeks) I will start making the AC lines and will have videos of all of it.

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  Před rokem +1

      I just looked at aeroquip and I see they do have the PTFE ac line. Cool stuff then. I would be interested to hear how it works out for you vs the reduced barrier lines I am planning to use.

    Hello, will that condenser even work and blow cold with the 2 line fittings on the same side? Looks like it would just go in and come right out the other line rather than go thru the condenser ?

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  Před rokem +1

      Hi, its a parallel flow condenser so it has baffles in the tubes that help direct the refrigerant through the condenser. Here is a diagram of how a parallel flow condenser works: www.classicautoair.com/understanding-a-c/parallel-flow-condenser-diagram/
      Even though in the diagram the fittings are on opposite side take note of the baffles and how the refrigerant makes multiple passes back and forth through the condenser to cool down. The baffles will prevent the refrigerant from going in and out the same side in a parallel flow condenser with fittings on same side like mine.

      @@e-dod copy that just seen a diagram of the condenser.. I'm needing a tucked condenser amd lines on my turbo ek, I talked to a guy who ran a tucked kit and says his ac isn't really cold wondering if his wasn't charged right or if converting to rubber lines over that metal line would be a problem?

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  Před rokem +1

      @@boostedek3573 That's interesting. I don't see why the rubber lines or the aftermarket condenser would be an issue. This is my first custom AC project though so I am not sure how it will actually perform. Will be sure to document it though next summer when its all done. My expectation is for it to be much better than stock since condenser is larger, modern AC compressor and lines completely out of engine bay. Maybe you could reach out to coldhose.com for some input? They were very helpful when I had questions about AC fittings for my custom setup. They might be able to help with a custom condenser as well.

    How did you get the adapters to fit. The adapter the owner sent me don’t fit on my firewall and my dryer bottle on my 93 civic eg si. I’m going back and forth with him. He claims he’s done it before with another eg. All I’m asking him is did he send me wrong adapters. Please help.

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  Před rokem +1

      Hi , sorry to hear that. The adapters did not work with my drier bottle either. I had to get a drier bottle from a 1997-2000 civic and it worked. For the firewall mine worked fine. If they do not fit your firewall you may need a different evaporator core. Was your car originally r134 or r12? You should have a sticker somewhere on the engine bay.

      That might be the problem then. If your car is R12 from the factory the evaporator core might be different then the R134 one. I would swap in an evaporator core from a 95 civic: www.carparts.com/search?q=a-fs-c_evaporator&vehicle[model]=Civic&vehicle[make]=Honda&vehicle[year]=1995

      @@e-dod I just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH for this comment here. I have the JackSpania kit, and have the exact same problem @Chynna357 had (believe what you want on if the DC5 kit is really any different than JackSpania). I also have a 93 Si, and after switching to a 1997 Civic Dryer and a 1995 evap core, the fittings that came with my kit now seem to fit.
      Looking forward to when I finally get my engine reinstalled and the AC charged up, I'll probably post a video on how it ends up working. I have yet to see a video of anyone actually using/reviewing this kit.

      @@wilfredmunera1822 Thanks man! The wiring was not to bad since my car had AC from the factory so I just had to pin in the wires to the K-Pro. Hybrid Racing publishes install guides for their AC kits and I just followed the wiring steps in that guide. It told me exactly what wires to use in the factory harness and where to pin them in. Page 4 of their guide has some good info for Integra: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2218/5701/files/HYB-ACK-01-15_DC2_AC_KIT_INSTALL_GUIDE.pdf?v=1594999043
      Not sure why they use an aftermarket relay for the Integra though. My car did not need that I just had to pin in two wires from the factory AC harness. Might be worth looking at the factory service manual wiring diagrams. I would be interested to hear about how you end up doing it!
