I think it’s just so he can say “I take feedback” whenever that comes up, because it’s a meme how he always does this and always has. So it’s actually about THOSE moments of random feedback, when he responds very poorly day-to-day. It’s not like it was some grand plan of his in that particular way, but Phil loves to have those arrows in his quiver, for his rants in his defense. Something stirred in that lizard brain when the “King of Feedback” became a meme, whenever that was recently I forget, where he realized man this is objectively a bad look.

Even the dents enjoy him continually trying to explain his stubborn bad takes. Phil just doesn’t antagonize their sensibility is the key difference I guess, like it does a detractor. Detractors find it very nasty behavior along with amusing, which then justifies the trolling of course.

One of Fill's bigger problems is that he is so eager for praise that he will often take one single comment and incessantly superimpose that one comment into "alottapeepul are saying" or "alottapeepul are asking". He likes to project his failures onto the game and the audience by telling them that this is what they all wanted and that he did everything correctly. It's YOUR fault Fill is failing.

I think you're right about the schedule in the sense that he's scared of not making it painfully obvious to the dents what's on when. It would be interesting to see what would happen if he did something normal like took a week or 2 off every once in a while. How many would be there once he got back?

By the way, about the schedule... my father told me about all the people that went by the factory, a lot of them will focus on dumb useless details at the end of a day's work. That's because their work is usually meaningless. The engineers would talk about repairing engines, pumps, flow rates and electrical circuits, etc., while the "other" dudes would explain how they re-worked some "workflow" with cards, or the cleaning schedule at the workshop... So he said, when people talk, you listen and do it patiently and carefully. DSP speaks so much about the schedule because it draws a false image of punctuality and hard work around his pretty obvious comatose nearly dead business: a man in pijama playing games while doing obscene noises and antagonizing what's left of his viewers FOR NOT GIVING HIM MONEY.
