I guarantee Phil has watched maybe ten minutes of political coverage and now thinks he's completely prepared to wade into that cesspit.
I mean, some people do, but Phil just isn't likable, charismatic or entertaining enough for it to work for him.

I’ll give Kat the benefit of the doubt. Maybe her life is exhausting, who knows? It’s plausible, we only have Phil’s accounts of how she spends her time. Phil has no excuse. It’s plain for anyone to see how he spends his time on this planet. Soliciting money from virtual strangers in exchange for creating substandard content, less a product of anything a self-respecting human being would describe as work and more the product of self-interest, laziness, and arrogance.

Seems like he is trying to move his dents into following his desire of just doing a podcast. The problem is he isn't interesting, and aside from recapping the previous day, his schedule, and begging, he has nothing to say. He cant be bothered to look up some news stories to talk about because that would be off stream, and when he does talk gaming its like a 15 minute segment. He thinks he does all of this profound speaking and its just him saying the above mentioned and narrating game dialog.
