    +Think Your Health Thank you so much! When you're on a polypharmarcy regimen it can often be difficult to know if you are looking at side effects, contraindications, or a new or worsening disease or disorder when new symptoms arise. How can one mitigate these or detect medication problems when being treated with many medications? Is there a specific type of doctor that should be consulted just to address toxicology? Any ways to address this concern and manage polypharmarcy would be greatly appreciated. I know you did one on the elderly. I am asking about the adult patient managing multiple chronic illnesses. It could save so many lives if this was addressed and would make good original content also, I believe. Thank you again, sir.

      Geriatricians are trained to manage polypharmacy and are aware of the challenges.Also a Geri-pharmacist can be consulted, they are trained to look for the concerns you mentioned.I work with one in our practise and she has been invaluable.If you google polypharmacy & WHO there is a interesting article you can download and read.Yes, it can be challenging to differentiate chronic comorbidities from side effects.The goal is to reduce pill burden to minimize potential drug drug interaction coupled with lifestyle challenges.

      Thank you for explaining the side effects so well. I started taking this 3 months ago and my neurologist has increased it already. I suffer with small fiber neuropathy and I’ve had bipolar disorder since I was a teen. I used to take Prozac and was switched to trintellix when that came out. I’m on many other medications too. Since starting the cymbalta I’ve noticed that I sleep much more than I used to. On Monday, I struggled to stay awake while driving despite sleeping well throughout the night. I ended up falling asleep without even realizing it in the parking lot of the pharmacy. Will I have side effects from stopping the medicine after 3 months? Thank you for your time and knowledge.

    Cymbalta is one of the hardest things I have ever quit. Quitting adderall wasn't as hard. The withdrawals are no joke. I'm not suicidal at all like some but the withdrawals from this stuff makes you feel like you're dying. You will get jitters, brain zaps, burning sensations, bad dry mouth, and facial paresthesia. I would not recommend this drug to anyone. Try something safe like Prozac or Lexapro. Even switching from this drug to Prozac gives you severe withdrawals. LIKE SERIOUSLY... DON'T TAKE CYMBALTA.

    It’s really important to remember that there is a wide variety of medications because there is a wide variety of mental illnesses. Just because someone had a hard time with this, it doesn’t mean you will. If your doctor prescribed it, it’s probably because they think it will help. Give it a try and if you need to come off, do so WITH a doctors help.

    • @LeahElisheva
      @LeahElisheva Před měsícem

      Stick with the 30 for 2 to 3 weeks and see how it goes before increasing dosage.
      These side effects went away after 2 weeks for me. I’m so grateful I waited it out. Because I am now on it for 2 months and it has helped me greatly. 30mg is perfect for me. I didn’t need to increase my dose.
      Everyone is different. So just because it works for me, doesn’t mean it will work for you. But you have to give it more than 2 weeks to figure that out.
      If after 2 weeks you still have very negative side effects, then it might be time to switch to something else.

    I've been taking Duloxetine for about 3 years, now - prescribed to hopefully ease my diabetic neuropathy (which it did not, noticeably.) Just last night, I began watching vids about it, and it seems to explain some of the side-effects I've been experiencing. Among them: clumsiness (dropping things like salt shaker, etc), tics (hard blinking, cyclical muscle flexing, making little grunts when breathing, etc). My left eye has some blurring, and pressure, and the right side of my face often itches. I'd love to stop taking it, but the withdrawal symptoms so often mentioned scare the poo out of me. I hope to see my dr. to discuss a taper, but I take a 60mg capsule, so hopefully he'll prescribe pills that I can split. Thank you for this information!

    Was put on cymbalta just now and only made it one day on 20 mgs. Extreme thirst, major nausea, sweating, hot flashes, teeth grinding, could not eat or sleep and had bizarre visual issues where things looked like they were moving when they were not. On it for 15 years now and it does its job. Not all drugs work for everyone, and side effects are the same. Monitor yourself when you start it for the situations mentioned and if severe have your Doctor get you off it ASAP. Never take another that doesn’t help you or gives you negative reactions. It takes a while to find your cocktail of what helps.

    Can withdrawal cause palpitations? or it just might be Orthostatic hypotension. But it feels like my heart dropped as if i was on a roller coaster and its about to dropped down or a quick jump scare like a giant pause in my chest and it ends with butterfly feelings throughout my body. Its very uncomfortable but no pain. It usually happens randomly but fast movements can trigger it

      Lot of reasons can cause palpitations.If you're asking if stopping a medicine suddenly and if that can cause palpitations the answer is yes.Can orthostatic hypotension cause a faster heart rate and palpitations, yes.The main thing your Doctor has to rule out are organic causes.The most common reasons would be the heart and thyroid.Discuss with your Doctor.They are aware of your medical hx as well as what other medications you are on to rule out drug drug side effects.Simple tests which can be done is to test for orthostatic BP with BP readings, an EKG and a thyroid panel ( TSH,free T4)

Can I start 15mg by breaking it and will take it during eating food.

      @ThinkYourHealth  Před 2 lety +1

      If nausea is one of you side effects try taking it with some food with your Doctor's approval.You may discuss reducing the dose a little to see if that help with side effects experienced.Consider taking the medication at night time once you health care provider approves.
      It is also important to find other measure to deal with your mood:
      1) Develop a routine to go a to bed at the same time.
      2) Healthy life style choices ( ie if you are drinking or smoking need to quit or at least reduce).
      3) Be physically active, go for walks, exercise
      I assume you are taking propranolol off label to help with anxiety.Blood Pressure Lowering Agents such as propranolol may enhance the hypotensive effect of DULoxetine.So there is no absolute contraindication not to combine these meds. however you should be aware of side effects.Are your blood pressures stable?Sometimes chronically low blood pressure can cause nausea.
      Etizolam can its own issue as is a Benzodiazepine. Here is a video I just put out looking at Xanax which belong to the same family of drugs.If you are interested you can check it out; czcams.com/video/lLKHJIVrKN4/video.html.

      I totally agree. It is very curious, to say the least, how
      most doctors minimize side effects. If you take the medicine and feel bad, you are almost forced to continue until you "feel good" on the medicine, and in the meantime, you may be doing irreparable damage to the body. No doctor says, if you feel bad, stop taking this medication. You do not know if it is for the good of the patient or for the good of the pharmaceutical laboratory.

    1 question, why so many side effects, these are not designed to help anyone they are designed to cause liver and kidney damage amongst other things. If this is not true why wouldn't they twerk the ingredients to prevent said side effects. It's because of this type of deliberate side effects that I won't take any big pharma medications.. the only ones I take are antibiotics if I get an infection and you can lessen the side effects by taking CoQ10 and milk thistle. And antibiotics are for short term use only. I won't even take paracetamol. Far too long we have trusted our doctors but I don't trust them these days as they only offer treatments of symptoms no cures only for infections. It's terrible that doctors took an oath not to cause harm then they prescribe toxic medications.
