  • Duloxetine Cymbalta withdrawal has been abolutely horrific and devastating for my life, family, work and everything else for that matter. I felt it was important for me to get this out there because there isn't too much representation for severe cases on here for people in protracted withdrawal syndrome. I also discuss some things that have really helped me in Cymbalta withdrawal and managing the worst symptoms. Leave your comments down below and I'd be happy to answer any questions. Thanks for listening guys and I hope to do some updates soon on my Cymbalta withdrawal experience.

Thank you for this video! I needed this so bad today! I keep trying to go down a bead at a time, then a couple days later I'm having life threatening thoughts constantly and seclude myself from everyone to the point i really don't talk to anyone anyone except generic small talk at best. I have seriously thought this will never end and i can't keep feeling this anymore, but This video made me not feel so alone, and I'm feeling more determined as a result. I seriously appreciate you posting this because it was exactly what I needed right now. Thank you so much and I hope your are feeling much better!

Thank you for this video. Have been crying my eyes out while listening. I've been having a horrible time with it and have spent the last 48 hours erring about whether or not to go to the ER. I've been experience severely disordered sleep and insomnia, nausea that has been debilitating and come out of the flu and my appetite is all over the place, I barely eat and then eat a bunch at once. I have started, a week and a bit into my withdrawal, having brain zaps, and have been feeling very faint. It's been a nightmare and it hurts go outside as I don't want to see anyone, I can't interact with anyone, and I feel like I'm not really 'here'. I'm so low on energy and fatigued. This video however has been super helpful in hearing your experience and the reminder to see this all as a way to live healthier and take better care of myself.

You have about 10 days to hop back on and taper more slowly. Research a low histamine, low carb and low sugar diet. You might want to even try low histamine carnivore until symptoms get better. Do deep breathing as much as possible to calm your nervous system.

I am going to look into the low histamine/low carb/low sugar situation (I've done similar in the past and it has helped) I can't do carnivore.. I tried it and it's just not something I can do. But the rest I will. I'm going to try the wim hof method too (my nervous system is shot) Thanks again for replying and the helpful video. It was for me too, ended up in the hospital winging off it and Amytriptilin. Then doctor put me on DuLoxetine again, said whatever was going on was not from them. I'm on it for nuropathy pain, now winging off, and I know where this is headed. And I'm severly sick from intravenous antibiotics, and weakened immune system, witch gave me the nuropathy to begin with. Before she had me on 2 for FM and I never had FM, it was pain in back from knots aling the spine to begin with, and having scollioses. 😢

This Cymbalta withdrawal is terrible, doing cold turkey and I'm almost 2 weeks in but I'm unsure if I'm going to stay off it for life. I'm on a new med but i may want to take both of them for the serotonin benefit of Cymbalta. • @Crushin123
    @Crushin123 Před rokem +6

YEP! My dr put me on a pretty high dose of Cymbalta, (i think it was 90mg?) with no slow intro too it and no warnings about it - even after I asked what side effects to watch for.
I got an uneasy quivery body stoned feel - virtually right away.
Brain fog, no focus, anger issues, severe sweating, almost an 'out of body' experience while attempting sleeping, anxiety, depression, suicidal, finding any reason to become enraged with anyone...then I sadly started drinking a LOT during this, ironically the booze made me more tolerable and then the headaches began.
I was getting migraines every other day, I was irritable beyond comprehension, just a complete asshole - and I knew it, but couldn't stop it. (Can't believe my wife didn't leave me - she should have).
I was road raging daily, then almost blacking out of the moment and not remembering clearly why or what caused the rage to begin with.
Here's the BEST part.....I started getting boils and blistering skin rashes all over my body. They would literally pop thru my skin like chicken skin in an air fryer....numerous ones and they were BIG. They just exploded out of every part of me...legs, belly, neck, hands, fingers, face, toes...they would grow and grow until they popped like a blister. Then scar. My doc said it had NOTHING to do with the med.
I went 3X to the hospital to find out WTF was happening to my skin and why. Every time it got dismissed. It was NOT the Cymbalta. It went from insect bites, to oily skin, to a hormonal change causing it etc etc. Every excuse they could think of...but it wasn't the Cymbalta. (eye roll).
So...I stopped the medication cold turkey.....then the flu withdrawal happened after missing the second dose...I was sick, I was weak, I was shaking, brain zaps like my head was about to explode. The eye pressure was unimaginable...this went on for a days. The brain zaps and headaches were severe.....to a point where I asked my wife to call 911...then i stopped her. So she drove me at 2am to Emerg - - they did tests and it showed nothing abnormal. Once I got that news, I thought screw it, I can beat this withdrawal crap...if there is no brain swelling or physical damage happening, then I will tough it out and wait.
It was a horrible horrible experience. I don't recommend people stopping it this way - after i told my dr what I did, he was not impressed or happy for me. (side note: I never had skin blisters before taking the med or since dropping the med)... He did tell me it's similar to a Heroine withdrawal and it should have been slowly weaned off. I took it for 2 years...and I don't recall ANY positives from it. None.
After watching this video, it gave me memories of the past. Today, I take 600mg Gabapentin - helps with my back issues and also helps my anxiety without all the side effects of the Cymbalta. Also, if i miss a couple doses, nothing happens.
Since going animal based diet, I feel numerous things have gotten better - hardly any arthritis issues, back feels better, anxiety is better, no more IBS and I have lost 70lbs of fat in 7months and feel great.
To those doing this medication journey, good luck, stay strong and seek out professional help and try to get off that poison. Try carnivore or animal based diet even! - it did much more for me than that crap. All the best.

I have done a lot of research on Cymbalta since trying to taper off of it myself, I have watched multiple videos of people who are trying to taper off of it also. This has been one of the hardest things pharmaceutically that I have ever been through medically I’ve already had two mini strokes, diagnosed with epilepsy and small vessel disease since been on Cymbalta it did help me at first, now I was put on this by my rheumatologist for arthritis which I even questioned him why he was putting me on an anti-depressant obviously Cymbalta is not only an anti-depressant as y’all know this originally he started me off on 60 mg which I think was too much I could not do the 60 so I did the 30 mg a few months ago I started taking the 60 mg my symptoms got worse to the point where I had to stop working I even went to my neurologist and had an MRI done and an EEG went to my regular doctor to get blood work done because something wasn’t right I even went to my optometrist who spent more time with me than my actual doctors. He himself deals with fibromyalgia and arthritis and was put on Cymbalta and tell me it was one of the worst medicines he’s ever been on and trying to taper off off. He told me that my rheumatologist should’ve never put me on this medicine and I think it’s the side effects of the medicine. Of course I looked up the side effects. Call my doctor they said stop cold turkey well I’m smart enough to know that you don’t do that for the last several weeks I have been dealing with every symptom or should I say every withdrawal but vomiting. My rheumatologist spoke to me today and says I think you have depression. Do you need to go see your regular doctor this infuriated me I told him depression does not cause all these symptoms, and I do not have depression, it makes me angry that these doctors are so quick to just hand out a pill and then when you go through symptoms, want to give you another pill to top the other symptoms he also told me that my symptoms should only last a few days from what I’m reading and seeing that it’s not the case I’m thankful that I’m finding other people that have gone through this lets me know that I’m not crazy

He mate. I had been on Cymbalta 60mg for 15 years until March 2020. I had breakthrough anxiety and my doc CTed me off Cymbalta. It became so bad with the withdrawal and akathisia that I got sedated with 4 zolpidem 10mg and 70mg oxazepam a day. I kept getting worse. My doc swapped my benzos to valium after 6 months, a direct switch. This was another horrifying experience and I dont know how im still alive. I had severe akathisia, left eye blindness and 50 others symptoms for 2 years. A lot of them gave up. I was place on Lexapro 10mg by 2022 but it never helped so i had to taper that as well. One should be careful about generalizing from a single experience, like calling a drug a "poison". Some people can die because of eating peanuts due to an allergic reaction. We are all different in terms of our nervous system. What is beneficial to one can be harmful to someone else. I could reduce 60 mg per day duloxetine to zero within a single week, with absolutely no significant withrawal symptoms. It was a lot easier for me to come off duloxetine than to come off Xanax.

SNRI ( Venlafaxine Duloxetine Milnacipram) I can eat like candy's. No side effects no withdrawals.Prozac the same. The only one withdrawal I had was bupropion ( 300mg) . Its very good medication. You feel like on Coke on it , but If you stop cold turkey ( at least me) I was going almost insane. Headaches nausea dysociacion confusion ,anxiety. I was feeling on age of psychosis or delirium + fizical symptoms. I think your problems had more to do with benzodiazepines addiction than cymbaltha.. Of course cymbaltha complicated all story. They should wack you on Prozac instead SNRI tapprering benzos. Benzos are worst sh..t. Withdrawal from benzos and alcohol are more severe than heroin It can kill you more likelky than opiates withdrawal. Believe or not: best antidepressant I found its not typical antidepressant. It's Armodafinil ( modified version modafinil). Cymbaltha suppose to be most toxic for liver ( among all antidepressants)
