"If you are on medications such as antipsychotics it is a personal choice as to when you stop them, however it would be a bad choice to try to stop them when you are not in a stable position...not around stable people and don't have a lot of help...Trying to stop the abruptly..is almost guaranteed to be another trip to the hospital." - Lyle Murphy (ATMC Founder).

One of the worst medications I ever started taking. I'll never take it again. Started taking it in 2017 until 2 weeks ago and went cold turkey. Weight gain, increased anxiety, loss of interest in daily activities and life, and the withdrawal was terrible.

@Crawlz hang in there. Everyone's body is different. It may take longer than you hope to get back to where you want to be, but I assure you that you'll get there.
It's been 8 months since I took myself off of it.
Looking back, wow, so much has happened! I went through A LOT in those 8 months. But I FELT and that was important to me.

I've been trying to stop taking cymbalta for two months with medical supervision and it's not been easy. I feel very tired, dizzy. The brain zaps are so strong it makes me nauseous. I already took several medications, leaving clonazepam was much easier. Advice for those who are going to start taking cymbalta, think carefully beforehand.

I am so happy to have come across your videos... I’ve basically been a guinea pig in these last 10 years of psych doctors taking stabs in the dark with medication. Seroquel, cymbalta, SSRIs, long-term benzos and later methadone for opiate addiction. I realize now my only option is to come off everything (right now, methadone, clonodeine, Valium and PRN zopiclone for insomnia). Do you have any advice about those of us trying to come off many drugs at once/what the options are for a patient like myself? Bc here in Australia its really only done tapering at home or in a 28-day rehab program (those places don’t rly know how to treat poly substance/psych meds... and I refuse to be on this stuff for life

You're so right... I've been a guinea pig for these drugs too. I'm withdrawing from Cymbalta right now. Funny thing is my doctor switched me back to Prozac. I'm still feeling painful withdrawals though. I can't imagine taking antipsychotics long term. Those drugs suck real hard.

I've been on it for 2 years, following the deaths of my son and dog. Been on the lowest dose of 30 mg once a day. Coming off it is still a nightmare. Tired, lightheaded, dizzy, confused. Screw this stuff.

I am taking this drug 1 year now because my psychiatric doctor recomend it but now slowly I'm stopping it. Yes it makes you feel dizzines. I can say that for sure cause this was the biggest effect I had in my depression.. This drug made it higher and higher but stop some other symptoms I had. I cannot help to have this dissinens in my life. So I am stopping it slowly. I just say stop it very slowly cause you will have effects for sure even when you are stopping it slowly.. But you have to stop it. After do some homeotherapy with a good doctor.. and then I hope we will be as back then and better in our lives.

I’ve been on 2 months and couldn’t take feeling like a zombie anymore and having chest pain. I decided to go cold turkey.. it’s been roughly 5 days now sense stopping. I’m experiencing night sweats, nightmares, weakness, and light head ness/confusion if I’m walking around for extended periods of time...
Tonight the dizziness was so bad I almost admitted myself to ER but didn’t want to waste their time. Some say the withdrawals are harmless and to let them pass but I’m not so sure what to think anymore! I wish my doctor would of educated me on this drug more before putting me on it. I said yes to it for my fibromyalgia pains, but after taking it, I’d rather experience the fibromyalgia pains then feeling zombified 24-7!

@@triciasmith2305 I've been on it almost three months now for pain and anxiety...never was depressed but I can't stand the zombie feeling either.....it feels like it's changing me or rewiring my brain which I'm sure is what's happening....I would rather be myself and feel pain and anxiety than be a zombie.... started my taper today....but may just jump off soon. No more psyche meds!
