- How to Make a Custom Coiled Cable, No Soldering, No Extra Tools, Just a Hair Dryer, A Wooden Stick, and a Cable. It can be done in just a few minutes!
There are a few really good in-depth tutorials out there, but they require a variety of tools that not everyone has and might be a bit intimidating for the average viewer. So I came up with this very easy and simplified coiling tutorial for you :D

Tried it right away after watching the video since i've been wanting those coill cables forever but too cheap to spend 50-60 bucks on the premade one. Just followed his steps and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much!!!!
But what's the use of coiled cable for a keyboard?
Less clutter on the desk. Just to look nice and neat i guess lol
@@syedsulaiman8380 Nice looknig
@@lastgoodbye so if I coiled my headphones 🎧 cable that's not braided does this lead to any problem with wire
Finally one tutorial that doesn't require you to have 10+ additional tools to make the cable haha. Thank you! Very nice editing too
Your camera focus always catches me off-guard in amazement !

Helped me a lot, it was a real pain trying to find MFI certified coiled cable, now thanks to your video I did my own that works perfectly in my car for CarPlay! Thanks a lot! :)
I had no idea it was that simple! Although I’m sure in my hands it’s still going to take me much longer and will most likely come out looking like crap 😂 LOVE the video! 🙌🏼
I simplified the process so anyone can do it 😉. If you want custom sleeving, aviator connectors, etc. It takes more time, requires more tools and costs way more. 😂
@@DailySetupTech Can you create a video for this? I really appreciate it.
after you make one, it gets addicting
Hey there, just wanted to drop a quick thank you note for your tutorial. I recently got a new hard-wired keyboard and was a bit bummed with the setup, but your video was a game changer. Had no idea it could be this simple! Thanks for making things so clear and easy to follow. Really appreciate it
Thankyou!
I'm modding my partners keyboard for when they start their new job, and spent hours digging through Amazon trying to find a decent, inexpensive coiled cable.
This looks like a great technique, so I can't wait to try it!
I just did it and the results are better than I expected, ty so much for this quick tutorial
Good job on the video and thanks for putting in the extra details to make this fun to watch!
I've been waiting for this 🙌🏾 'bout to try it!
i was considering ordering a pair of customs before finding this video, worked perfectly and looks so great! Thanks man!
DUDE, I'm a huge fan of your channel, and this video was excellent! Subscribed immediately, and will be trying this with a 3 meter braided cable!
After watched a few videos about, this is by far the best one. Thanks for your last tip.
Wow the video quality is impeccable, keep up the good work.👍✌️
Great tutorial! I made a coiled cable from my keyboard’s stock cable and it turned out great! The only tricky part was the end where you reverse the cable. Thanks so much!
THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! YOU ARE A GENIUS!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm ordering the cables tonight.
I've found really useful all your videos! so thank you! Will you make a new one for lubbing the gateron switches from a not hot swappable keyboard??? Looking forward to it!
Thanks for the nice video.
Just a reminder, folks: if you're doing this for the first time, you better try it with some old useless cable first. First hand experience. :)
What can you do if you fail ? (I did) can you restart again ? I failed in the reverse coil section)
This is amazing. Thank you!
Fast, simple & great tutorial. Thank you!
Thanks man! Worked great!
Good job, keep it up man!

Thank you so much for that !!
Never realize i could make coiled cables by doing this steps. Could save my money earlier :(
But thanks for your tutorial!
wonderful video as usual!!
This is awesome! I'm definitely going to try this out :D
Did you try it?
Thank you! You just saved me £10. I’d never have thought to reverse wind it.
Hopefully this means the steering wheel on my kids homemade go kart doesn’t short out again.
Have a great day dude. 🎉
Best and to the point♥️
This guy deserves more subs for real
Thank you that was so helpful
Naa u'r a genius, this is brilliant!

Dayummm this is quality
Very nice content!
Sabia que notaba algo de acento xD, pero pedazo canal y tremenda calidad.
Great video! Are you releasing a video on how to lube switches on a non hotswapp board? I live in the UK and only really had access to the keychron K2 V2 UK Layout aluminium but none hot swapp:( would be great to see how Maybe! Love the Channel!
What were the cables you used in the MKBHD keyboard video? And the right angle adapter
TYSM it worked !!!
Quality content
Thanks!
Cool! I liked and subscribed
1:01 dat pen spin though xd. Like!
Nice :) TY !
Damn, gotta try it out
Damn, thank you SIr!!!!
thank you - great to know
Dude this is amazing, I’ll have to do this in the near future for sure 🔥
It takes just a couple of minutes, quick and easy :)
its constructive criticism all im saying is make content that gives info that most people dont know. All the big creators have done this, there is a reason why the mkbhd vid was so good
@@vortexlinks7982 Sorry, I'm not sure what you are referring to, I haven't deleted any comments. I only removed some spambots that were leaving spammy comments.
@@vortexlinks7982 Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind.
Thanks your content is really amazing but this video is going in the right direction and editing is good
how thick is the woodens tick in the wideo? cause it looks good and like idk what thickness to buy
You just gained an extra subscriber
thanks alot :D
Damn I was just thinking about it
thx bro nice vid :)
Is the cable still intact after a few months? what i mean is that are they still sticking together after a quite time? thanks for the reply
What about rubber cables? Did they crack after your heat it with hairdryer?
This is some quality content here, I'm not surprised Marques subbed
I'm glad you like it :)
thank you
eyyy sorry it took me so long to sub to your youtube channel XD glad to have subbed now
Could you try using different springs for linear switches in your keyboard videos. For example making a lightest switch with 20g springs.
Interesting, I like that idea! Thanks for sharing 😊
@@DailySetupTech would be interesting how really light or heavy switches feel and sound.
Hi, there.. Is this safe for type C thunderbolt 4.0 40gbps braided jacket data cables? doesn't it reduce cable performance?
Genious
If I want a 10 inch coil and the usb port is 4 feet away (cause hiding wires) how long should the actual cable be before I coil it?
is it possible to use hot water or owen if hair dryer / heat gun are not at hand? EDIT: Nevermind, I ve realized I could try to use my infrared wellness light.
hey bro i dont have a heat gun and a hair dryer what can i use instead of that pls suggest
is having a *braided* cable important for the process?? Does this work just as well with unbraided cables or is it only possible with braided cables? I really want to try this but don't want to damage the nice cable that I got with my keyboard
It works with any cable, but a braided cable will look nicer
Hummm.... hair dryer, 10 minute.... I see a some mods and a new profile for my SMD Reflow Oven in my near future 😁...
Thanks for the idea!
Hey I forgot to ask you a question will it work with a rubber cable
can this work on a regular not braided cable?
I don't have a wooden stick. Can I use a candlestick instead?
What's the cable thickness? 5mm is too thick for 550 paracord, should I get 4.3 or 3.6mm? 1st one is shielded.
Is it true that all custom coiled cables has a maximum of 3m in length because any longer than 3m will result to unable to power your keyboard and also have a chance of having a delays when typing?
Grandeeeee
Where are u from? you have spanish accent! haha nice content dude!
will this work on nylon and polyester?
it took me 30 minutes and i ended with a weird mess of a coiled cable with a 4 cm gap with each swirl lmao. i will try again another day! it still beats non cable managed 10ft cable tho
Can you do it with rubber cables?
does it work with a non-braided cable?
can I use sunlight to heat up the cable? I don't have a hair dryer lol
did tn work for me
Can I coil a cable if its non detachable from keyboards I think I can but it will be hard
When reversing the cable do I have to tape it and wait again or just reverse it and just wait for a few seconds then remove it from the stick??
When reversing, you don't need to wait. You can tape it if you want so it's secure, I didn't do it because I just held one end with my hand and started reversing the coil.
This is fukin great!! thank you! cheers!
Nice video! Will you make a video of SSUPD Meshlicious?
I was going to make one but I think I'll wait until I can do a custom loop in it.
How thick was the rod u used?
what if i did it without a sleeved aviator cable instead i just did it with the normal cable that came with my keyboard?
What was the diameter of the wooden stick you used in this video? I want coil 6P6C (6 wire) round telephone cable.
Thank you
Randy
like 1 1.5cm
What is the required temperature?
I just saved myself a 150 bucks.😂 Thanks bro
can I use non rubber cable?
