Great video George😊👍. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. In over 6 months I had Lag when i push acceleration. Lately drive train pops up every time the accelaration reach 2000 rpm. After watching your video, it motivate me to check my map sensor. I can tell my map sensor was clogged and cover with 1 cm of oil and carbon. After cleaning the sensor with turbo and egr cleaning flluid and the hull in the intake manifold. My engine work very smooth. Now my car accelerate very good and the drive train errors disappear. My car passed 155000km. I think I too need to do a total cleaning of the intake manifold. Again thank you much. You have saved my day :-))

I've been chasing problems in my 1995 toyota corolla, I don't know why I didn't just start with this. But atleast she got a new set of fuel injectors, fuel filter, plugs wires and a good oil change. Kinda impressive she has 250,000 miles still runs smooth as silk and am sure she still has alot of life left in er.

Thanks for great videos, I'm driving a 2012 bmw 318d 2.0, check engine light came up with P0406 EGR, so I cleaned up the EGR valve along with the intake manifold and the EGR cooler plus the MAP sensor, the light went out and everything seemed OK until a few days later the light came on again, only this time the code is P046C, again for EGR, the EGR valve is clean and it's flowing nicely, not sticky anymore.
    Any ideas?

It is a good idea to clean it every so often however I would be very careful with tellig people to stick a screw driver in it! for 2 reasons, 1 you might force the carbon down further inside and 2, if you stick it down too far you may damage the diaphragm and break the sensor. I personally would not use a screw driver, rather a soft brush or a cotton bud as much less risk of causing damage, or better still just let the cleaner disolve the gunk the spray it out with the nozzle. These components are fragile and not cheap either.

George, do you think that simple cleaning of this sensor might resolve a 25d100 code? (charging pressure sensor signal open circuit or short to ground) It's associated with a Drivetrain Malfunction CEL and engine shuddering under maximum torque demand.
    There are also codes --
25d000 charging pressure sensor signal short circuit to b+
259100 exhaust temp sensor upstream of catalytic converter signal deviation too high
259200 exhaust gas temp sensor upstream of diesel particulate filter signal deviation too high
290b00 air mass system measured air mass too low
-- which I consider to all be daughter codes of the actual malfunction.
    Cheers.

Yeah I thoughtlessly blasted air (really not good as the MAP operates using a sensitive membrane to measure air pressure) and carb cleaner near the sensor while cleaning throttle body... threw a CEL after and ran terribly: high idle, late shifting, power loss, running rich etc. After cleaning the (very clogged) MAP and idle air control, she runs wonderfully. Great and easy thing to do once a year. 👍

I wont even think on driving anything solid inside a MAP sensor tube, they operate by detecting tiny flexes on a chip at the base of the sensor product of pressure changes in the outside. If you push anything against it you are going to decalibrate it and be screwed. I just blast them with contact cleaner, safe and cheap, but thats me.

Great job, just be careful poking a large flat blade screwdriver into the map sensor as most of them also have a little heat sensor at the opening which is very easy to damage. All diesels cars need the major service of taking off the inlet manifold to clean all the egr/oil combo buildup which definitely effects performance and efficiency of your engine, an good example of anti pollution devices causing more problems and long term pollution than without all that EGR junk in the first place.

Far too many ads, however.....my Jag XJ 2011 kept going into limp mode until I cleaned my MAP sensor. Been brilliant since.
Worth noting that the MAP sensor is a diaphragm so you shouldn't ever stick things like screwdrivers in just in case you damage it. Stick with the cleaner.

    I cleaned mine last year
You DONT touch the VERY sensitive wire part!! I bought special Mass Air Flow sensor spray
Just spray the wire part (do not touch it) And leave it to dry before putting it back

Are you talking about the MAF or MAP sensor?

George Austers oh sorry I’m talking about the MAF sensor
Not exactly sure where the MAP sensor is on my corsa d. I removed the whole air Intake Control Valve and cleaned it.
I think the the sensor is on this but it’s fixed

Most modern cars should have both. MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure

Mate you need to watch this on someone elses computer and see if its satisfactory for you. Its intermittent its dodgy man. I cant even watch it I tried to go back refresh but its not my computer its the video and to have this much interruptions all the time is why I think your not getting good numbers of people watching your videos as if they see ONE dodgy video we all think all your videos are dodgy.
