i do believe that flamel also had an americal accent...and in some sections a french accent...so much wrong with it....and so much bad editing in this #dodgycuts
Yeah you're right. Nicholas had a vaguely French accent, but from what I can remember, the story was in California and Josh and Sophie did grow up in the US.
Totally agree! Nicholas (and Perenelle) might have had a bit of a French accent and Josh and Sophie grew up in the U.S.!
The only character who should have an english accent is John Dee...thats regarding the main characters - perry, nicholas, josh, sophie, dee, hekate, morigan, bastet and dee's masters....morigan has an irish accent if i am not mistaken, bastet is egyptian, hekate, i imagine has either a caribbean origin accent and dee's masters either have american or egyptian (depending on how closely we are working to the books)

I finished the saga yesterday, one of the best stories I ever read by far, this trailer seems to be for the book only and we have to wait some years to watch the movie...
This is wonderful! Fantastic effort! While yes- it’s not Hollywood, this is, you have to admit- a great feat to accomplish. So please everyone- let’s respect the artists and their accomplishments- they put a lot more time into this than you did watching and criticizing it.
I never thought I'd find a book that drew with Harry Potter. I was clearly mistaken :) I've read all the books, but I particularly like the Magician. In fact, it's sat right next to me now. I've just been reading it! Isn't the movie meant to be filmed in Australia? That's what it said on Wikipedia.

@TheRantsOfABookWorm (Nicholas) Nicolas Flamel isn't a character from Harry Potter -- he was an alchemist that was referenced in Harry Potter as the man who created the Philosopher's Stone and achieved immortal life along with his wife, Perenelle, through the "Elixir of Life." Flamel was a real person, born in 1330 and announced deceased in 1418. (I apologise if I sound like a bookworm.. I find Flamel interesting. :D)

To be honest, I first picked up this series because of Harry Potter due to the 'Nicholas Flamel' part in the title. It's definitely been a good read. Now, I have to say, despite the bad acting and accents that shouldn't be there (Josh and Sophie being the most obvious), this is pretty much precisely how I pictured the characters, minus Hekate. Morrigan was pretty close, though I pictured her looking a bit more "mature"-for lack of a better term-and much more sinister looking, but that's just me. The woman would've probably fit Scathach better, but again, that's just me. And yes, this is a fake trailer. From what I've heard, there's no plans for a movie just yet although he is trying.
This looks nothing like what actually happened in the book the ball in the beginning was yellow and josh was in the back of the building when Dee walked in with his golem which were not there.

On 21 June 2012, it was announced that AMPCO Films had acquired the film rights. Production is set to begin in February 2013 IN AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND. Michael Scott will write the screenplay, saying he would like it to be true to the books.

When I was reading the books, I thought of Dee as the ohare air guy from the Lorax......
but the story also says that the flamels left paris for a while and came back and they're already rich. when they "died" thieves opened their tombs to see if they burried them with golds, but they found nothing, not even the flamels' body.
Micheal Scott is writing the screenplay for the movie and its going to be filmed in New Zealand and Australia.

And Josh was carrying books when Dee attacked! Josh ripped the book from his hands and they fought over it. Dee won but Josh ripped the final summoning out. Urgg, this angers and agrivates me. But anyway, I start the 5th book tomorrow. The WARLOCK! SO EXCITED!!!

The Enchantress was GREAT! i mean it never fails to surprise me even at the end. One thing I would like now is TO WATCH THIS IN THE BIG SCREEN! but i hope that they will not ruin the book as filmmakers do in other novels.

Consider that Dee and Flamel are hundreds of years old and well traveled. Also, the twins aren't from San Fransisco, their parents are acheologists, so perhaps they are British. And, was the male twin wearing a Hogwarts sweat shirt?
ummm....no...just no. This move looks so low budget and the twins were not from the UK so wassup with the accent???? Flamel looks hella old and he's French not British. love the books but unlike Harry Potter, i am NOT excited to see this movie.

This series was and is tied to my favorite book series of all time. Being alongside the inheritance series if your watching this and for some reason haven't re ad the book go and do it I mean what's not like about a brother who at one point has gold rods come from his hands his eyes turn to gold discs and him bash the rear of a car denting the car itself. That's not even the best action bit BTW for those who read it OMG MARETHYU WAS a total plot twist...

He is, and Zaqqui1029 has a piont they have the wrong accents, but if you read the books, Nicholous and his wife have changed their accents and mannerisms to each place they hide in.
while watching this I was thinking "damn I hope they get A LOT more funding for the actual movie."
then I saw it was just a fan trailer and I was relieved XD (I also know that I couldn't make a better trailer. I just wish for a proper movie to be made for such a quality book.)
