  • We have discussed a large number of reform and change ideas across society, economy and politics.
Here, our panel will reflect on what reforms are urgently required to allow us navigate this deep crisis, as well as the longer-term deeper structural reforms required for sustained growth and development.
    Discussion Points:
    - Are our governance systems capable of developing good policy and good reforms through careful research and debate?
    - Can we mobilise domestic capital, decelerate flight of talent from the country, plug our losses in government, increase productivity and growth, and use our resources efficiently?
    - What are the minimum changes required to make this happen? Is there a linchpin reform? #EconFest #EconomicReform #nowornever #Pakistan #Economy #Reform #Debate #economiccrisis #Default #IMF #Debt #Loan

Extremely unproductive discussion no body is addressing the core issue which is education and separating Islam from education and get rid of Mullas and Maulanas and running madarsa. If you start today it will take minimum 20 years. Otherwise you will produce persons like Lal Topi . Wake up and smell the coffee.😊

Not just that. The entire discussion is so haphazard. There is no direction to this discussion. The guy who is raising questions isn't prepared at all. He is pulling questions out of his magic hat. In India, mostly people come prepared with a list of question so that they understand where the interview has to go.

Unimpressed by the level of debate & inability to see the larger picture. Governance provided by representatives of the people accountable to them who respond to needs. A system providing universal justice.
Our needs include simple processes empowering entrepreneurs & wealth creators, wealth which is equitably distributed.

Again PIDE talks, talks and keeps talking. Someone should be brave enough to bell the cat. Reform the politics, judiciary, society and the most importantly the culprit for all the ills ailing Pak ie the Pak Military. Until the above is done Pak would continue with the downward spiral.

Disregarding the baniya infestation in the comments section, you should include a millennial economist like Uzair Younus in your discussions instead of these 50s and 60s models who are more politicians than economists.

That is the power of indian baniya.
