Best band on the planet, Lovebites is number 1 on iTunes in US, UK and a ton of other countries.
It was #1 on iTunes Metal Charts in Australia, but has now fallen back outside the top 12. The fact that it was EVER #1 in Australia is amazing considering how unknown Lovebites is in this part of the world.

The vocalist Asami was originally an R&B singer, and Lovebites is her first metal band. For some songs that are very toned down and really exploit her R&B roots, check out "Edge of the World," "Epilogue," and "Empty Daydream." As someone else mentioned, the vocal-and-piano accoustic version of "Rising" (search LOVEBITES Asami & Miyako [Rising] Acoustic) is also a good one, though the original version is blistering power metal! By the way, Lovebites lyrics are entirely in English. The only exception is the original debut EP version of "Bravehearted," which was re-recorded in English for the debut full album.
Founder Miho the bassist left the band in August 2021 the new bassist Fami is also very beautiful but she's like 20n years old Fami and Asami have an article I believe in Playboy (No not a model pose)

Miyako's the chilled guitarist on most songs. In the second song she well into a pregnancy as well. If you look at some of the slower recommendations you'll see her switching from guitar to keys mid-song.

Lovebites won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. Their new album just came out in February and many feel it is their best one (out of the four they made). Check out the title track music video "Judgment Day" and you will see ALL of their skills an talents have improved and they sound even better than in these two videos.
Sounds epic because it has large doses of power metal which is epic.

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Finally, the audio tracks of some of the new album are up on youtube, and worth checking out. The band clearly came out swinging and wanted to make a statement. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself!
