This "Holy War" video was from their first live tour in a year, which had been postponed due to the pandemic. This concert is under COVID rules (spectators are allowed to social distance, wear masks and clap hands only).
Your final comments make the most sense. Not if, but when you react to more Lovebites you’re going to eat more words than the number of flies you must have swallowed while your mouth was agape the whole song. You’ll learn to appreciate that Lovebites don’t play songs, they perform them. Each song has its own feel. For example, Haruna the drummer wasn’t the only person on stage with amazing breath control. Asami the vocalist is literally “belting” for 4 of the six minutes. How can she run around the stage and belt? But they also perform “Don’t Bite the Dust” In which she is all over the stage and she has awesome crowd interaction…it’s magic to see. This was at the height of Covid. The insanity that prevailed allowed people into a public venue and see a rock concert, yet the audience were told they couldn’t jump around and certainly couldn’t make a noise. Like the virus was going to give them a miss on that basis. Also, Miyako, the guitarist stage left was approximately 4 months pregnant. But having had a previous tour cut short by Covid, she wasn’t about to miss this short tour too. Trust me, these are not only the finest musicians playing metal (or simply playing) today, they have a catalogue of 50 songs, not one of which even comes close to average, let alone weak, and they are basically genre neutral because they can and have played everything from thrash to Chopin…yet all as metal compositions. Thank you for giving the girls another platform, and be prepared for a standard of metal unmatched in my 63 years inhabiting this planet.
Haruna the drummer doesnt go one for 6minutes, she goes on for 2 straight hours and its childs play for her.
BTW Miyako, the black haired guitarist, was 4+ months pregnant and was on her feet for the whole two hours that this concert lasted (except for a few minutes at the grand piano) so it is quite understandable that she was not running around the stage. I doubt if many 4+ pregnant men would be very active on stage either.
This concert took place on March 26, 2021. At the beginning of 2021, a new wave of Covid-19 began in Japan. A very tense situation was created, many people got sick, many died ! The Japanese government declared a state of emergency.The LOVEBITES concert tour was rescheduled from January 2021 to March - April 2021 and took place with mandatory anti-COVID safety measures: the hall was not completely filled (the number of viewers is limited, many people who wanted to get to the concert could not buy tickets) maintaining social distance between people, viewers must stay where they are, everyone is wearing masks, are not allowed to express their emotions loudly (shouting, sing ), only applause is allowed, etc.
Once you watch enough of Lovebites, you'll realize that their 'stage movement' is based on the tone of the song. The bouncier or more fun a song is, the more movement there is. The more somber or serious a song is, the less movement there is. And Lovebites covers the whole range, from the emotional power ballad Epilogue (

The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians,such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list).
Fair enough first impression. You, like many reactors, comment regarding stage movement Personally I just don't understand worrying about that when the music is so good. Running around on stage, sweaty and jumping, is irrelevant to the music. I only care about stage movement when I don't care as much about the music itself.
Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence thus far, they have easily put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-long hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and their fans eagerly await their next move. Some background:

However, they found a new bassist after a 3 month audition & are dropping a new song Dec 23th & new a album after the new yr.....can't wait !! I don't need them to be dancing around, personally. They're enthralling with a great stage presence without that, but that's just preference, so I totally get it. You'll see Asami around some in other songs. She has a ballet background, so she absolutely could, but you won't see jump kicks and the like. Try Frozen Serenade for a bit more of a performance from her (and some different things), Set the World on Fire for what is probably my favorite guitar solo (and a great chorus), or Swan Song (with the Chopin intro) which is easily my favorite by them. I'm glad you got to see them and did a reaction!
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Lovebites is one of the best bands in our country and you will find other bests. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)

You should buy and watch the DVD from which this clip was taken. 2 hours, 18 songs, a lot of stagecraft, even pyro and ballet. Then you will understand the breadth and depth of their talents
