But even if there was 30 teams then, those teams would’ve provided similar competition to what Russell was already facing at that era. That team revolved around him without him that team wins nowhere near as much titles hall of famers or not. Bill changed the org through his career and as a couch that is why he is the ultimate winner, also no one really liked him due to the racism back then so he had way more adversity. Also think of the NBA teams now and days 30 NBA teams. Now imagine those teams split up there best assets into those 10 teams, that's what bill Russel dominates against in his era. Respect the man and stop putting him down

When Jx showed each player, Jr smith was “lebron” but when showing the teammates slide he was shifted to Jordan. Odd. Anyways it was a great video but it’s fun seeing details of the goat debate I’m sure the theory of Jordan being the default name for the last 30 years and many of these players not allowing bron to finish his career leads them to their answers. I’m sure in 10 years the notion shifts to more 50/50
I started an argument the other day by basically saying that Jordans (or anyone else for that matter) GOAT case has less to do with their actual in-a-vacuum playing ability and a lot more to do with when you played and whether people liked you/were fun to watch and like you said in 10 years it will be 50/50 as people that watched Jordan shrink and people that watched Bron grows, in 20 it will be LBJ-70/30-MJ and even after that people will eventually treat Jordan and LeBron like we do Mikan and Fulks today, like they don't deserve a mention cause they played a primitive version of the game. Goal post is never gonna stop moving sadly.

The reason he fell out is not because ppl think it takes more skill to play Jordan and Bron positions...
It's because when longevity is one of the main reasons for your ascension... As time goes on and technology and medicine become more advanced... Players will start to play longer naturally...
So playing at a high level at certain ages becomes less valued later on... The same thing will happen with LeBron... In 2040 when players are regularly playing into their 40s at a high level...
What LeBron is doing won't be seen as impressive to those ppl and he will fall out of the GOAT debate because the one impressive thing about his career will no longer be impressive...
However doing things that even players in current NBA still struggle to do 20 and 30 years before them will always be impressive... That's why Jordan transcends the debate...
You look at some of the things he was doing in 1980 and today many players still look at and are like how the hell did he do that...
You understand, that if playing 40 years is not impressive, it becomes the standard? And Jordan wouldn't meet this standard. It would be like us looking at George Mikan's 7 year long career.
