Hello everyone, and welcome to another The Isle Concept Analysis! This is a series I will be making for the following weeks where I explore and analyse all the dinosaur concepts that the devs have been releasing since 2020. Today we are going to discuss the Giganotosaurus.

Giga concept art is a perfect example of how keeping things simple and only expanding on already existing features is sometimes the best way to transition a dinosaur from Legacy to Evrima.

I think being able to track blood for a long time over long distances would be great. I’m hoping Giga slowly bleeds and exhausts giant prey over a period of several in-game hours or days. I’d like it if injuries as a whole were more detrimental so that herd members are less incentivized to protect each other from predators.

Even though I don't like the new giga design,I think its bite animation should be faster ,and giving it a bite and ripped flesh off of sauropods but not killing it.

personally I love the new giga design. I definitely prefer it to the old one. it just looks so monstrous and regal, very jurassic park-y
In the dev blog it's confirmed that giga will have a flesh grazing mechanic and a diet more focused on flesh, less organs
Can we take a minute to appreciate the fact that they are making concept art for things that won't be in the game in the next 10 years.

Oo that's really good analysis! The fight in between the two gigas could mean that when blood attracts more than one pack the two parties will engage in fights. Like a blood or feeding frenzy.
I never really understood the purpose of the sniffy image with the herrera up top. This makes perfect sense.
Why does concept giga look so much better then the new giga model?

I do like the whole omega bleeder play style it has in legacy and I'm really glad they kept it, only thing that'd make it better is if things like ripping meat chunks from large creatures existed, and maybe some form of an infection mechanic for out wounds.
Giga will likely be the most stable of the three apex carnivores. Good bleed, speed, smell, and overall balanced stats with pack hunting is such a powerful combination. But I imagine it will still have an unfavorable 1v1 matchup with other apexes like rex. A frontal approach would be suicide but Giga isn't so much faster than rex that it could use hit and run tactics either.
I think the new model will be better when it’s animations are attached but yeah it seem to have been simplified in its design rather than having that somewhat lizard look to it.
Wow, at first I thought the concept was pretty boring and basic, like the Alberto's, but you actually made it really cool! And while I do like the Legacy Giganotosaurus model, I think the new model fits the aesthetic better when calling it a "land shark"

I am curious how they are going to implement its cousin Acrocanthosaurus. The two of them filled very similar niches with one being more of a speed hunter but the Allo fits that as well.
I dont see why games like this add so many similar species though, surely it makes more sense to have animals that fill distinct niches not and make a balanced ecosystem that both works well and is fun to play, rather than having 10 megatherapods.
@@flightlesslord2688 Exactly. Actocanthosaurus and Giganotosaurus filled the exact same niche and are very similar in terms of biology. They should just do a coin toss and choose one.
@@kade-qt1zu Indeed, choose something more interesting to fill a different niche rather than more awesomebro megatherapods. I mean jeez, we're gonna have to venomous nocturnal Jurassic rip offs.
@@kade-qt1zu They should choose Giganotosaurus and just scrap Acrocanthosaurus, Having Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus are enough as far as megatheropods go in the Isle and I think it’s perfectly balanced that way. It would be nice if Evrima made those 3 dinos as survival mode playables, if they really want Acro in the game they should just make it a sandbox mode dino.
@@flightlesslord2688 Now that I think about it, why not add Latenivenatrix as the isle's main night-time hunter instead of Dilophosaurus?
Giga was my favorite apex and i still use this one sick tiger-like skin in legacy. Can't wait for it to join the roster in evrima. Hopefully ill still be alive when it comes to the game 💀💀💀
A lot of this concept art makes it seem like the dinosaurs(especially carnivores) all have the same body covering with little variation. Many have this Carno skin covering of scoot patterns and scaly skin. Hope they add some more variation.
Definitely high A or B cool fan services,surprisingly great gore and overall giga desgin actually growing on me,still isn't the best but it's lovely
One con,I have is the Giga vs Trike but it's not as bad as the Allo vs Para
But I'l definitely really love this simple yet effective concept art and video

Giga is my favorite apex in legacy. It might take many years to get it to evrima if they even are going to add it but i think it will be very enjoyable to play if they do.
Dude! That actually makes sense! The giganotosaurus did not bite like the tyrannosaurus. While trex used bone crushing power, giganotosaurus used its jaws to cut into its prey in a more sawing motion, so good job to the accuracy on the isles part
in the last concept photo, the sounds look healed as well as other even lighter scaring on the neck. Could this mean that older individuals have a more developed sense of smell? Being able to more accurately pinpoint carcasses? Just a hypothesis :>
what i got from the concept art is that giga is going to be the literal blood god since most of there gimmicks revolve around blood
I just wish the way they present giga's playstyle and it's unique and own variety depending on skills and abilities can also have that said small victories

Image there the 1 Giga is sitting down can just be that they show that they are waiting for the Shant to bleed out. But could also be that its regaining stamina If that system is returning that Apexes have to sit to gain stamina back
The T-Rex was the only apex, that had to sit for regain stamina

Giga and Spino also had to sit to regain stamina.
Atleast on official servers they are like this. Unofficial servers these days are so modified now. So they might have changed that.
@@l4dhuntel i Never player on officials. I played on asura and There was the t-rex the only one, that has to sit for regaining Stamina. So yeah i might be wrong tho
The chad chin is awesome. But I really wonder why it had it. I mean we have no idea why humans have one, never mind giga. I like to think both are sexual displays, hence why men usually have bigger chins. That or its a left over from our face becoming flatter and the adaptations that led to it simply left that bit of bone, which then became a display structure of health and such.
Also, cant believe you gave the gigachad treatment to the JWD giga. It doesnt even have the chin!! What would be cool is if rex can get more out of a carcass though. Cos it could eat bones, whilst giga maybe could swallow bones but wouldnt be able break them. But the giga make up for it by being able to flesh graze, and basically eat as its killing the prey. Its gets a snack even if the prey escapes or fends it off. That would mean if a rex bullied a giga off a carcass the giga would have less of a loss. Make them coexisting make more sense.
If that giga only got a scar on its leg from a battle whit a trike, then its already OP in my eyes, also all of the hunts in the art just improves my fears, as i cant see any dmg on the gigas while hunting the most dangerous herbivores.......

@@chuazhiqianwrss4379 the giga in the Rex concept didn’t die, they engaged in combat. It is uncertain if the giga died, there’s wasn’t enough damage on the Rex or giga to tell
@@michaeljordan2607 no, I meant that if rex died in general, (not just to giga) there would be less hype for rex. And if giga was heavily bleeding in the concept art against the trike, there would be less hype for giga, so there would be an incentive to make the dino in a concept art look good.

I know this might tick a few people off, but giga wasn't a pack hunter and didn't hunt Argentinosaurus.
Yeah, that's Mapusaurus.
How isit known not to be a pack hunter..it seems like something very hard to rule out compared to be ruled in

The only problem with the model is the backplate armor, and the head is ok, and It does look like a giga, just compare with an skeleton and you would see I'm saying the truth, but then is subjectivity, if you like the previous model I can't blame you, It was a good one, but I had It's problems too
I agree with you there man,I used to love the legacy giga design,I just wish they reused the legacy giga and beefup it's legs and make it's tail thicker or move the head a little more horizontally,then we would have the best giga design in game.
I like acro more. They seem very different, yes, but acro isn't a clear apex, nor will it get bullied by midtiers, and that's so much more interesting to me than continuing the fruitless battle of apex balancing
With the more ”realistic” dino movement in Evrima… T-Rex will be fk scary compare to Legacy. With that said, 2..or even 3 Gigas moving around together will be pure death squad.
I hope it gets faster than Rex
What do you not like about the Giga redesign? I’ve tried to ask others but the only response I usually get is “Muhhh My Dewlap.” so I’m usual just kinda like really? I’m just curious is all, I personally like both but I’d just like to hear everyone’s opinions.
Personally i dont necessarily dislike the new model, but i do prefer the older one simply because its more aesthetically pleasing for me. I can argue that its more "original" and whatnot but tbh its more of a case that it just looks cooler for me
The new model got a weird dent in it's face at the front of the snout. It should be one curve like the one in legacy. Also the skull is too elongated...the body looks to front heavy and the tail is too fat at the end. Also i don't understand the back armor.
So are they really going to make it a playable Dino? I’ve heard the Rex isn’t, so hope they do Giga is underrated and if they added both the Rex and giga they should make it at least faster and more maneuverable than the Rex. But either way really just want to enjoy playing envirma with more than seven dinos.
Rex will also be a playable dino, it'll just be AI first most likely since they want to add apexes later on

1:25 thats not really true, carcharodontosaurids have generally stronger bites than tyrannosaurids with probably strongest carcharodontosaurid bite being 3 and half tons bite force (which is highest REALISTIC bite force i found for Tyrannotitan with Giganotosaurus himself having 2.7 to 3 tons bite force)
Edit: by studies from 2022, largest Giganotosaurs would probably have 4 tons bite force
2nd most tanky apex and 2nd most damaging, hp behind spino and dmg behind rex

The Giganotosaurus also had a giga Chin.
In legacy giga is better than the rex by quite a large margin, the only thing rex is better at in legacy is killing gigas since giga vs giga fights aren't all that great. The giga runs circles around the other apex carnivores and is basically an allow exterminator, I loved just roaming the map as a giga while taunting rex packs that wined about me not wanting to fight them head on like an idiot. I usually paired up with a good friend of mine and mostly went for herds and rex packs, killing rexes as a giga on legacy felt great since as a giga it only takes one mistake to lose as a giga pair against one or more rexes. Bone break was bs, but honestly the rex needed it to prevent it from getting smoked by competent giga players.
I haven't been playing the isle since the performance issues are a bit too much for me, but once that gets fixed or I get a better PC I will probably be a cerato main since I hear they are coming out next. I missed when they were op and could solo multiple allos.
Perhaps with the Gigas flesh tear, the bigger a creature is, the less damage will be done proportionally, and the more stamina the attack will cost.
Is this for evrima or legacy?

Won’t giga be stronger than Rex I hear every CZcamsr and a lot of people on evirma talking about it and saying it’s true
I think the biggest thing I'm disappointed about is the drawing of the giga triumphant over the trike. The giga was specialized for huge but fleshy prey, not armoured prey, which is why tyrannosaurus evolved powerful jaws in the first place to deal with such prey. In legacy the trike is infamous for getting dunked on by gigas easily and it seems like that is just gonna continue over into Envirma.

such a shame too because you would think a 9 ton armored herbivore with giant pitchforks on its head would be able to defend itself but guess not!☺️

Actually your wrong new studies suggest t rex was the heaviest therpaod dinosaur because if giga was heavier it would have been slower than t rex and giga is faster tho
They are very similar in terms of overall size.
although the larger rex specimens outweigh the larger giga specimens
@@TitanusTerror That's not even what they said they said that both were about the same size, but the largest rexes outweigh the largest gigas.
@@horse1137 Scotty and sue were both around 10 tons in weight while giga was at most 8 tons. Rex right now is the heaviest theropod ever.
