Spiritbox has all screaming songs but also lots of all cleans, and songs like this that are a mix. And Courtney nails it in the studio or live. I prefer live since that's when you see the emotions pouring out of her... every single time.

If you want to check out new songs by Spiritbox that have no screams, The Void, Too Close/Too Late, and Ultraviolet all have zero screams. They also show off how diverse Spiritbox is since none of them feel like they were written in the same exact genre. But if you want to hear Courtney scream for a few minutes and not sing a clean note, Holy Roller, Cellar Door, and Angel Eyes exist.
and if you want to revisit the 90s EDM/Grundge "Garbage" era Rotoscope.. Sew Me Up. Or my favorite to play to those who never heard them, "Blessed Be" beautiful melodic siren and beautiful then flips the switch.
This is what makes metal so damn good, the singers can sing perfect live.. The vast majority of pop singers will lip sync live, its why when people hear pop singers actually sing live its an amazing feat. Michael Jackson was amazing for a solid reason.

Yes Courtney is the Queen of this kind of rapid fire vocal changes. Your reaction was priceless! I had to watch 3 time because I so enjoyed seeing you realize how good Spiritbox actually is.
If I may I strongly suggest reacting to their music video for their song Constance. It’s very emotional
Courtney’s harsh vocals are done in such a way that it’s basically distortion naturally on the first half of the note, and then her natural voice peaking through. It makes it a lot easier to understand what she’s saying compared to Tatiana, Alissa White-Gluz, or Will Ramos.

Is it time for you to discover Arch Enemy yet? 😈 Definitely recommend Handshake With Hell, because new fans would wanna hear both her singing and growling. Alissa in my opinion is one of the best singers/growlers out there, alongside Tati from Jinjer. 🔥

You are so awkward. And I dig that about you! It makes you relatable. That is also what I like about Spiritbox. The band members are weirdos who are relatable and do not focus on achieving the type of success the metal media appears to want for them. In a recent interview Courtney said something about wanting to be a support act and not wanting to tour too much. I relate. My boss keeps trying to promote me. Stop trying to promote me, Bill. I like this job at this salary!

Courtney is very VERY good in her screams and cleans. My opinion is Tatiana is even better though. Spiritbox appeals to more people than Jinjer because of their song structure and consistent 4/4 time, whereas Jinjer has such complex time signatures and tempo changes some people shy away from them. Both are spectacular, but I lean more towards Jinjer than Spiritbox in awarding the "QUEEN of scream" title.
Really? I def lean Spiritbox but I thought Jinjer was way more popular than Spiritbox. Views? Record sales? They've been around a lot longer. I agree Jinger hits with a heavier metal edge to their music that alienates more casual listeners. Spiritbox has more fun with their sound adding techno, dance, and stuff. Like I could see Spiritbox writing a track featuring somebody like Cardi B., where Jinger would just call in Voldemort or Satan directly.😈
@@heyskipj If you just qualify the bands by overall streaming numbers, Spiritbox is much more popular than Jinjer. And that's probably because Jinjer has a more "complex" style which isn't something most people gravitate toward.
I don't think Tatiana is a better screamer. Courtney has a greater variety of screams. And I've never seen Tatiana switch in and out of screams to cleans the way Courtney does. The only thing I can agree with when it comes to this "who is better" debate is that Tatiana has a wider range in the upper register whereas Courtney rarely goes there, probably because she knows it's not one of her strengths.
@@GeekFuriousI don't know. Maybe I accidentally said popular when the orig term was "appealing.' Anyway, qualifying "appeal" by 4/4 time sounds silly too. Jinger is more popular and appealing than zillions of strictly 4/4 bands too. Regardless of the time sigs-poly-drops- and growls from Satan.
It would be like comparing Black Sabbath to Guns n' Roses. Slash and the boys had a flash in time. But Sabbath endures. I just don't Spiritbox is anywhere near close to GNR level yet. I could be wrong.
