Bro you were able to let me survive 3 days in the hospital with a collapsed lung because of these winter camping videos. I will forever love you for that.
💚 Wishing you a speedy recovery
hope you’re okay now!
Should go watch outdoor boys
Pretty good
Lost Lake's is very relaxing too watch! Keep on camping Lost Lakes!
Been there dude, shit sucks. Feel better my guy.
I've been a subscriber for a long time. This was one of my favorites. It brought back so many memories of trips I took in my youth. Nothing says the North like a Pendleton shirt, bright sun, splitting wood with a well-worn axe, the smell of wood smoke, and working yourself into a sweat in the snow. I appreciate the immense work and patience it takes to capture these trips alone, and I thank you for allowing thousands of people like me to return to the moments in our lives when we were as rugged as the outdoors; days that lifted our spirits and instilled a lifelong love of nature. You are creating a legacy of which you can long be proud.
Truly appreciate that Jim!
agreed
Well said Jim!
I couldn't agree more Jim.
Very well said. Loved your video Jon. Been watching you from the beginning and it just keeps getting better. You seem so at peace and settled in your element. It really comes through in the thoughtful moments you share. Love the peaceful musical interludes and portrayal of Ontario’s immense natural beauty. So awesome 😊
Me, my dog in bed watching Lost Lakes ❤ life is good 👍 😊
Lol I'm doing the same 🤣❤❤
Me too😂❤
Takeout, comfy socks, and fresh LostLakes. Perfect Friday. Thank you!
You have good taste!! :)
Fantastic Friday night!
Haha! Indeed! I wholeheartedly agree!
Ramen, barefoot(I’m in bed) and a fresh lost lakes here too. It’s my oldest of my four teenagers 19th birthday so he’s off for a boys weekend with his friends . I’m sitting here grateful for Jons upload so I don’t cry that my baby is now a man who’s probably going to be drinking too much beer tonight 😊
My teen daughters got invited to a sleepover tonight and I finally have me time! A nice hot bath and lost lakes is just what I needed after this long week. I hope you have a wonderful evening!
Those wolves were so beautiful and majestic! I’m so happy you caught them on video.
Jon and Erin, I have watched your channel for years. As a fellow Canadian, I am proud of our country and how we treat our land. Please accept my deep gratitude for your videos, and your education about our heritage. I will never experience your travels as a person with disabilities, and am privileged to see it through your eyes. Thank you for sharing your lives and love, for each other and our land. Cheers!🤟
We really appreciate that 💚
Wolves, Pike, Otter, Birds, Music. A+ on this video, thanks for sharing.
I always indulge in the majesty of your journey sharing the sights and sounds of isolation. Your honest and witty narration gives comfort whether your trip is short or long. You are an amazing film maker as well as a wonderful story teller combined with a respect for the land that makes your videos authentic. I wish I could give you an award you richly deserve.
💚💚
What a priviledge to be in that moment with those Wolves. "Beautiful" is an understatement. Im envious of your experience.
Best line ever....Heavy on the food, Light on the Scotch. Questionable!!! Laughed out loud!! I'm lovin' every second!! TY!!
😜😜
Two hours of rainy Friday bliss.
Wow, what a treat! Such a great video to kick off my spring break... the otter, the sound of the cracked ice sliding, and the wolves. So relaxing! Thank you!!! 🌲
USA truckers watching you daily over and over again you keep me going better than coffee God bless keep exploring brother
Peter ,Slovakia
One thing I love about your trips is the amazing cooking. I watched this with my mouth watering. When I was young we ate a lot of pasta, baked beans, and bread on our trips. Of course augmented with fish when we could. Nothing like you do now. Wonderful wolf shots. I had a very similar experience on the Canadian side on the east end of Gunflint Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (Minnesota) on a snowy Christmas to New Years week, many years ago. I was taking a break sitting against my gear on a toboggan when 3 wolves came out of a cedar bottom. They saw this lump on the ice and came right out to me to see what it was. About 30 meters away they realized I was a human and turned and loped away. Magical. Keep them coming Jon. I am an old man now and live through your amazing adventures. All the best to you and Erin. Spring is coming. Life is stirring.
Absolutely beautiful awesome footage .. your alone trips are my most favourite..peaceful..quiet..educational.. shows your gentleness.. thank you loved every second😊
Couldn't agree more. It's wonderful to know people like Jon do this. And you and I can enjoy it. Reminds me of an old show from the 70s called Exploration Northwest. Old filming and narration, but served the same purpose. (Starred Don McCune).
45:30 This music track is turning into the theme of the channel, absolutely loving it.
I agree, that piece is so contemplative and beautiful - perfect for his montages and drone shots.
He SCORES! Great wolf siting! I could feel your excitement. Congrats!
The Friday night dream come true!!! off to watch!!
Perfect timing came home on a Friday evening after a stressful week. Made some dinner for my wife and I. Opened a bottle of wine and unwound to two hours of Lost Lakes.
I can relate to this. Lost Lakes takes you on a journey while your body and mind unwind. Yes.
Your astrophotography is top notch! Really quite beautiful. Cheers!
Thanks for bringing me winter. So missed. Another great trip report. You have a style and vibe that is like no one else doing this. Hard not to share your joy at seeing the wolves. Stunning. ❤
Thanks so much Greg! 💚
By far one of your best trips you have recorded. My heart started racing as those wolfs came in.
Best tv ever! You are in your element out there. Just everything too beautiful. Those rocks were breathtaking. Loved the hare racing across the lake and the wolves. A gift from above. You know how to inspire us!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for another awesome video. Can’t wait to watch tonight with my wife.
you did a great job conveying this experience. I usually put stuff like this on to fall asleep, but I just stayed up late because was engaged with this trip from start to finish. I don't know that I've seen a better video from you, and really it's one of the better examples of this genre I've come across. I love the canoe trips, but this turned into a gem.
Really appreciate that :)
For a brief moment there , I thought that I was watching a scene from "Cry of the Wild" ! That's the highest compliment I can pay you , your right up there with the best of them Jon . Brilliant piece of film-making , please keep up the good work !
Thank you so much!
Your camera and drone perspective is fantastic. Your narration once again is spot on. I’m glad this was your best winter camp trip. Wildlife , Food , Equipment, Best of all the solitude.
Being in IT, there is rarely something I enjoy more than machine processing time on a project that I'm working on; it allows me to let my mind wander and fully immerse myself into your adventures, Jon. What a great trip this was, even though it took me 4 sessions to make it through. Catching the pike was a highlight for me, but the morning of day 8 and the trio of wolves tied for the top spot events. Wolf #3 definitely had a "Stranger Danger" moment when it sensed you. I envy your ability to catch nature in all its glory. I don't have the eye, nor the right equipment, but you and Xander, and some others on YT, have inspired me to get myself a nice camera to try my hand at capturing moments as beautifully as you all do. Thanks for taking us along!! Cheers!
Thanks a lot castle! Keep that camera out :)
Go Far. Feel Good. Improvise, adapt and Overcome. Survival matters. Thank you for being an adventurer.
The drone footage adds a lot. Agree the wind blown snow is beautiful!
So many awesome wildlife moments in this video! Great moments, thanks for sharing them!
Hearing your intro music just relaxes me so much. So glad you're out there living it. Thanks again for all you do
Oh my gosh, so glad to hear somebody else who knows bears don't hibernate! 😄 Which is also why there is always the small chance they will wake up mid-winter. Sounds to me like you have the right attitude about it though. Don't need to walk around afraid, but keeping aware and exercising reasonable caution. Still loving your mix of beautiful cinematography, storytelling, and knowledge sharing 😊.
And the Nathan Moore - Checkmate a minute in. Got the chills! Not camping 10 days in the winter chills. But the good ol' new Lost Lakes chills.
😆😁
Freaking epic! The wolves were majestic. The pike bite was awesome and I actually jumped in my seat a bit at the surprise strike. Great adventure and cinematography as per usual!
That was a social call, a deliberate appearance for your benefit. They had already smelled you for days. If they regarded you as a threat one of the pack would have circled around without you knowing it. When the alpha stepped out and eyed you briefly I knew it was to let you know they accepted your presence in *their* territory-for now. Very definitely a Farley Mowat moment.
I think your right. That big lad waited about 30 seconds then strutted out. Was clear he was so big…very special to catch it. As you said, they likely had been watching for a few days
How Beautiful 🫠❤
Those wolves...wow. So special. Great job capturing that.
*Never cook in your tent in bear season or if you're unsure when local bears are active (this varies widely).*

I think I found the lake on Google maps. what's with all the blacked squares on satellite images?
thankyou Jon for the spectacular moment your shared with those wolves. Once in a lifetime for most of us; if that.
Agreed, do not cook in your tent during bear season. Even the “best” bears are unpredictable, they love to eat: carrion, jerry cans, skidoo seats….. and the fellas who sleep in grease laden tents.
i do cause i protect myself
Hairy peckers are 2-3 times larger than downy woodpeckers…. Thanks Jon
We all get to enjoy your adventures! 👍
I can honestly say I NEVER been as ecstatic to see another person get BACK to the thing/life-style they love most.
My heart is so happy for you!
I hurt my knee last summer when a really bad current/wave at the beach pulled my 5 year old into the ocean. She wasn't even knee deep but the "under pull" was so BAD it just swept her into the ocean.
I almost drowned and twisted my knee tossing her back towards the shore to her dad.
Since then my knee has turned purple AND its been inflamed a few times.
Seeing your videos gives me hope that I will be able to walk miles and miles down the beach again someday.
Thank you for everything you and Erin do!
Incredible experience with the three Wolves!! Awesome video as always, Jon!! Happy trails!
BABE, WAKE UP, JON POSTED!!!!!!!!
God bless you man, pure pleasure watching this with my kids. Stay safe and greetings from Macedonia 🇲🇰
When you started filming the wolves, I was instantly shocked! it's just a very rare and special sighting see them..love it! In the years I've been hiking and camping in the western Rockies I have never encountered a wolf in real time. Beautiful!
I carry bear spray out here in BC in the winter. Chances of needing it are maybe crazy slim, but it'll stop a desperate wolf or cougar just as well and they dont hibernate. having it on me could save my life and it is proven to work well below freezing still having said that, what an absolutely amazing encounter. I hear them howling all the time when Im out and see some huge tracks but never do i see them. not like that. Truly majestic.
Jon, your journey's truly are the best. among other things, what sets you apart from other you tube bush campers is the time you spend focusing on nature and soaking up the atmosphere. not just filming camping chores and cooking. Love that too but your videos are so much more complete and literally fulfilling. Im sure you hear everyone say you are the best, and its true. :) now we just need to get you back in your canoe . :)
Truly appreciate that! :) If the above average temperatures continue I'm hoping to be back in the canoe in just a few weeks
Sweeeeeet !
Epic adventure!!! The music, the scenery, the wildlife, just incredible. Omg the wolves, ARE YOU KIDDING!!!
Absolutely thrilling, easily one of your best trips yet 💚
Thanks so much BC!!
Those wolves were gorgeous. How incredible to witness them in their own habitat! Yet another beautiful film, truly special.
Just so marvelous in every way....ty so much!
So good , I didn’t want the video to end !
Kept checking my notifications and finally , you posted . Cold night in NYC and this is my entertainment for the night. Love form NYC bro
Dude, you are lucky to be alive! That was no snowshoe hare: that was the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog! Death awaited you with nasty, big, pointy teeth!
Glad you made it out alive!
As always, love your video Jon!
😜😜 Thank you!
Haha, and I'll bet he didn't bring a change of armor. :)
Thanks Jon, Excellent video.
Another great one Jon. Thank you
Damn that fish looked good
Jon, thanks for another beautiful video and a peaceful trip into the Ontario wilderness. As an American it is so soothing to watch your videos in these turbulent political times with the most unfit person in American history run for president, the one who lacks an ounce of grace or class. So thank you for this escape.
So happy to see this new adventure! Thank you.
Truly an amazing trip!! Thank you so much!
Jon, those rocks were gorgeous! Sorry you lost your hat🫤. Love all of yours and Erin’s videos! Keep ‘em roll’n!

My favorite winter camping video of yours.. The wolves had me sitting up in bed with a huge smile on my face! What a fantastic experience seeing them and it's all on video for you and us to relive it. The otter was neat to see as well. The night sky photos were stunning. Thank you for taking us along!
