MUSIC: tracks are mostly licensed from Artlist.io and if you use the voice search on your phone, there should be a button to ID the song for you there (or a dedicated song ID app). Otherwise feel free to ask in the comments.
The NFB should be paying you for these documentaries... Seriously, your work is as good, if not better than any nature docs they've produced.
So true
Then he should go get a job there.
@@phil6844 - That's one of the stranger comments I've seen in a while. The NFB funds projects. If he works there he'll get a salary... but he'll be an office worker, not a filmmaker.
These shows keep getting better and better. It reaffirms that nature doesn't need us but we need nature.
I love this!
Absolutely 💯 ❤
One of my favorite channels! Sanity in a world gone mad.
When hasn't the world of humans not been "mad"? Perhaps the out of control world population (8 BILLION) adds to the madness? Yep...
💯
Humanity is insane for the most part, the further from civilization we go the closer to reality we get!
agreed
word
I get more peace from your videos than professional therapy. Sincerely, Thank you.
Amen to that lol
Double Amen to that!!
triple Amen to that !!!
Same Amen to that 🙏 🙌 ❤
☝️ This x100
Nothing like a long Lost Lakes video to completely DESTROY the Sunday scaries.10/10
Your skill as a film maker just keeps getting better and better!
These are the channels that should have millions of followers! Just awesome content!
Well said 👏 ❤
Watching this in the evening - the first 10 minutes.....**sigh**...and the stress of the past week slips away. Thanks Jon.
Aah! As the days grew longer and the snow faded, I wondered how long it would be before Jon treated us to a paddle in the water and an epic back country adventure. ❤ As sure a sign as any that the soft seasons are here, and Im ready for them.
"Spend more time stopping n relaxing a bit".Couldn't agree more. Was taken away again again.
I live with generalized anxiety disorder and these trips mellow me out so well. I so appreciate your reverence and empathy for animals and nature. Best therapy ever. Thank you.
You’re so right. People can forget how healing the wilderness is. It really is therapy for the soul.
He has a away of doing that 👍❤
Man, your opening was so great. The music, the flute, your words, the shots, oh yeah!
But Jon, what was the name of the piano solo music? Sounded like John Field but nothing quite fits. So Jon, how about giving credit to the composer???
I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your videos
And your humorous fun too.
To me you were made for this purpose to let' all of us see the pure Beauty of our World thank you
I've never been this early, but I will definitely come back to finish this episode
Being Canadian makes me happy. Watching you paddle through a gorgeous part of Canada makes me happier. What an awesome trip!
I just wanted to say Thank You as I sit outside my basement apartment in the suburban jungle that I exist in for taking me on your trip !
Much Respect my Friend!
Thanks buddy - I’m only 2 min into this video and am blown away at the quality of video, music and visual quality - cheers
Wow I love this channel, it's rare to find someone who treats the wilderness and its inhabitants with the proper humility and respect, and you really have a good way of making the wilds the main character here. Even the music is very spare, light, and ambient, and puts nature's song in the forefront.
And of course as soon as I finished typing that the seaplane flew in hahahaha
After Neil Young, Pine knob, and two days of Billy Strings in Chicago, this is exactly what I needed today. I will never be able to thank you enough... thank you ❤
Your photography is THE BEST!!! Without equal!!! I Watch over and over and always want more. Thank you!!!
Thank you!!
I'm pretty sure that I have watched all of your videos to date. This one is by far your best yet. Your production has evolved to a new level, well done. I can't thank you enough for taking me on your trips. I'm a month or so shy of my 78th birthday, recovering from hip replacement and remembering my 10 years or so of wilderness canoeing and camping. I emigrated from the UK to Minnesota in the mid 80's, and discovered the Boundary Waters Canoe Area soon thereafter. Great memories, but now limited by health issues to enjoying the adventures of kind and talented young people like you and Xander B. Thank you so much, Jonathan, for dedicating your time to make these videos. ❤
Very much appreciated 💚
Thank you Jon. These long videos are a treasure . The sounds and music selections are lovely ❤
I love that you include the flora and fauna you encounter on your journey
Thank you Jon once again for showing me sights I’ve never seen. You give us all an insight to what this earth was created to look like. Sadly, even in those remote locations show the abuse we humans are known for.
Jonterio I wish the world would vote your way. I always look forward to your videos❤❤❤
Yayyyy! A Lost Lakes video! I'll write again after the show😉
I can only say it again: Ontario is (to mee) the most beautiful and peaceful place on earth. Thanks to you I started csnoe camping there. I will be back in July an September. And want to go more north and remote next year. I love your videos. I'm always there with you and Erin. And I thank you so much, Jon!
I grew up in the nwt and southern Yukon. And to me that's beauty. Spent time up in Tuktoyaktuk working offshore and then way up in the arctic building the north warning system and seen some amazing sights like the smoking hills in Horton river also home to a tidal bore and a distant early warning line site. Where when we landed in the early fall in a twin Otter on skis we were dropping streamers out the aircraft door to get some orientation on the snow but when we landed we were jumping snow drifts 8ft high thank god those aircraft land slow and stop on a dime, they just dumped us and took off and we had to dig out the camp that was erected in the summer months. Scariest thing I did ever.
Everyone is right on. The latest videos keep improving and is appreciated. Thanks for taking care of our environment. It is sad to see the pollution left around the wild by the thoughtless. Thanks for showing us the beauty of it all though.
Yes! Just what I needed !!
Thanks again for taking us along.
Thank you so much, I love all your videos 🦋🙏💕
This guy has some magic skills with no dangerous encounters with the wild life... Amazing
The quality, the genuine experiences captured, then creation plays her cards and gives you a light show to be remembered. So grateful you share such masterpiece journeys!
Phenomenal! The Sandhills cranes were amazing. I’ve sometimes wondered what smells are out there. Thanks for sharing another masterpiece Lost Lakes! 👏🏻👏🏻
If a tree falls down in the forest, and there's only Jon to hear it...
I agree with you about the anti-climactic wildlife/waterfall etc on this trip but seriously ironically one of your best trips. I can’t explain it; perhaps the reason was it truly was a Lost River and it epitomized your channel and your love for the unestablished campsites. Looking at the abandoned long ago used fire pits and trails WAS the BEST. How ironic no fanfare no woodland caribou no eagle dropping a fish in your head nothing fancy but your Best Trip Yet. You know that saying “I don’t know who needed this video but here it is ..” lol it was me and you will never know how much watching that inspired me to keep putting one foot in front of the other during a rough time by experiencing something I can’t explain. Thank you and Hi to Erin.
John I flew into the headwater lake of this river back in 2017 and it sounds pretty much the same . Lots of trout but topping out at 17 inches . We canoed and fished as far down the river as the falls . Didn't catch a lot of fish in the river but we did see a ton of moose. That upstream portion on the East seems like to much effort for the reward . The lake you want to get into lies just west of the headwater lake and is in a tee shape . You can portage to it using the hydro line and the fish there are big and plentiful
Interesting to hear this, thanks!
Was scrolling for something to watch, thank you for answering my prayers 😂
Hell yeah! I've been waiting for a new lost lakes....so happy right now 😊
I haven't watched the video, but will later with the family as it's early morning here.
I only wanted to say up front that WE ALL AGREE you are the absolute BEST as far as content and quality in EVERYTHING that you share.
We look forward to watching THIS ONE and them all.
Thank you.
Quality cinematography . Wild that no one has been in that area for years.
Another phenomenal adventure. Thanks Jon.
Perfect timing, i just finished the Mother of the Great Lakes video. Love these long videos. I watch a chapter each night before bed. Relaxing.
Recovering from open heart surgery, this was great to watch.I needed this ,Thankyou so much!
Just when I needed the peace and sounds of nature, there you are with another canoe meditation. I am enjoying the trip
Thank you!
You have a eye for catching nature at its best thank you 😊
What a Sunday Night Treat! Thanks LL, can't wait to settle in with this newest adventure !!
I love that you are keeping this place a secret!! Good call buddy!! Beauty film as always, Jon.
You did one incredible job of capturing your fishing trip. Video and editing second to none!
ughhhh I can't watch right now. But can't wait to watch when I get home!
Well it took a little bit, but man i really enjoyed this one. So much so that i decided to dig the gear out and plan a trip. Its been a few years. Thanks buddy. Keep on truckin 🍻
Oh fantastic - what a lovely late night treat!
These drone shots left me speechless, nature is just stunning. Thank you for this huge effort you put into making videos!
I explore trout streams in my area so I really appreciate your forgotten river. Much more forgotten then the ones I explore.
Great use of the classical music with the videography.
This made my knee ache a little. I was really hoping your seagull friend would be rewarded. That 1st beaver that slapped looked like a Seal! Unreal how big that one was. Your skills at videos and stills and the wildlife footage is beyond great. Thank You for sharing it with us.
First impression was swimming bear
Loved it. The recap at the end just felt so intimate and genuine. It doesn't need to have the biggest ending or a jaw dropping climax to be a good or successful trip. The adventure is still there and the beauty you showed us will be with us forever. Appreciate your work and look forward to more of it.
So wonderful. Thank you Jon for the perfect dose. Some days I live vicariously through your adventures. You're the best
Love your videos
I am thrilled.. I heard during your trip to very rare birds that are not common visitors to Ontario. The Hermit Thrush and the Ruby-Crowned Kinglet!
Both are found in Ontario; breeding range... habitat for the thrush is a bit off, but given time of year, moving through to breeding grounds is viable explanation...
Really nice capture of bird song in this vid!
@robbieprokop1745 they are know to migrate through Ontario however this is rare. If you have a common sighting let me know what region.
There seems to be a huge amount of dead trees, do know anything about the reason why, wildfire, beetles?
i've spent the last month watching your videos... i'd like to say the improvement from when you started till now is immense. photography, to editing, to just the confidence and vocabulary you display. incredible work, you've inspired me to start saving up for all the equipment i need to do my first backcountry canoe trip. i'm from southern ontario, and its awesome seeing someone catch so many fish and stay at so many gorgeous campsites. you often talk about how doing these wilderness trips is a type of "peace" for you. i would like to take this moment to tell you that these videos have been my "peace" in a sea of stress for the last month or so as i have taken the biggest risks of my life in the past 1/2 year. you've helped me a lot
I love your positive outlook at the conclusion of every paddle. You always find the positives and focus on those aspects of your trip. I love that.
💛💚💛💚💛💚💛
Another video, another absolute treasure and masterpiece. Thank you
wow, the native flute went very well with the video. I believe wholeheartedly that this is exactly what humanity is craving and longing for. freedom and to be one with mother earth again.
As always, another stunning film. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. Also thank you for treating the fish you catch with so much respect and dispatching them quickly and humanely. Watched another channel that did not do that and it was just horrible.
That transitional night sky to sunrise footage between days 4 and 5 was absolutely amazing.
Just a simple heartfelt THANK YOU! You always live up to the high standard you have set! Be well.
What a wonderful route. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely wonderful video. The sights and sounds of the north...ahhh, there's nothing like it!
Jon... thanks for sharing the greatness of Canada. I think it's inherent in the beauty of the land, and the kindness and gratitude in your soul.
Your film-making has come so far. Much respect, from the United States. 👍😎❤
I love how you are so environmentally aware as I have just found your videos and I am very impressed.
Excited to watch this wonderful adventure I know it's going to be a good one and very relaxing😊
Again, some of the best content of its kind. Thanks Jon
Thanks, I enjoyed you taking me along
I remember watching nature shows with my dad back when I was a kid and your films are better than those for sure. Thank you and I can’t wait for the next one.
Absolutely peaceful ….. thank you
That was spectacular. What a beautiful journey. The stamina and courage needed to take on all of that solo is amazing.
Epic Jon! I love these longer episodes and adventures spanning over a week.
This has become my favorite CZcams. This is real, wholesome entertainment. I love nature and your videos do a great job showing me your beautiful part of the world when I don't feel like doing much, or when I'm looking for inspiration.
So glad to hear your comment about taking it easy. You make every trip like it’s a race, slow down and enjoy it.
Even the forgotten are beautiful. Exceptional in every way.
Thanks Jon for another awesome walk thru nature. The country is just beautiful. Looking forward on more to come.
Brilliant observation on the dry bag for rain flies! It was a gorgeous trip, thank you for taking us along.
Perfect way to end the weekend and start the week. Keep them coming Jon. Cheers!!
Truly great work sir. There are many “camping” videos, which I enjoy, but your attention to the little things, and those special video shots, make what you do extremely special. Keep living the dream and doing what you do best! Thank you for the time and work you put into making this special content. Relaxing to watch, absolutely enjoyable! Well done!
Huge fan of your work. Your channel has inspired me on many paddle routes, I hope you can continue making these videos for years to come.
Bro, I absolutely love the journey you immerse us in along with you. Just awesome views and adventures. Thanks again for sharing.
The opening sequence had me in tears because it was so beautiful.
This video came at the perfect time. I was seriously depressed today and watching this perfect emotionally healing adventure helped so much. So many beautiful birds in this environment.
Rained out of work today and what a treat to ride the couch and enjoy this. Thank you!
I'll be falling asleep to this one tonight- the highest praise for any CZcams video 🤙🏻
This was an awesome video!!! That land is so breathtaking! Glad you got to finish it out with the Northern Lights...looking forward to the next one...Thanks for sharing!
A wonderful video to capture your adventuring. Sure seemed like a grind for sure but definitely some sweet spots along the way! Thanks as always for sharing what you do Jon, you sure do have a gift for showcasing the beauty of the North
thanks for taking us along on another beautiful adventure.
Great trip Jon. That Walleye was beautiful. Looking forward to a summer of epic adventures. Hope your body holds up.
Watching this while having my lunch in the city in London, UK. Brings me right back to tripping with my camp, dad & brothers and friends when I was younger. Makes me really miss Canada - this is truly the best of what it offers
Stunningly beautiful!!! Thank you so much!
Another Wonderful adventure!! Your cinematography skills just keep getting better and better. The way that you capture sunrises and sunsets, wildlife, birds, flowing water, the portages....it makes the viewer feel like they are coming along on the journey with you. Thank-you for the many hours that you spend filming and sharing these videos. They are true pleasure to watch.
Phenomenal video!! Some of your best work!! Thank You!!
Perfection. Thank you, Jon.
Incredible. Thank you so much for sharing.
