      Hello. I did end up getting the kit from Ben's appliance. Unfortunately I may have over torqued the scanner but to the threaded part. I noticed recently our washer not spinning properly again. I took it apart and found the parts threaded part, at the beveled section, had broken to pieces. I ended up ordering a genuine replacement and temporarily installed the plastic set up.

      I think I used ammonia out of desperation. It seems to really clean the corrosion off. I ended up installing the agitator with inti-seize.

    Dang the nut is out and we can’t get the rest off literally damaged it trying with the screwdriver and think broke a piece that the nut cover goes on. Ugh prolly buying a new washer again but it was worth a shot I’ve even sprayed the oil I don’t know why that piece won’t come off.

      Each time I've had to take it off has gotten harder. If you happen to destroy the part taking it off, there are parts available new or used at appliance repair online, brick and mortar or ebay. It's not a very good design, especially the plastic parts and all that torque. Good luck.

    Great video! I have the same washer with similar issue. Once I took the 7/16s nut off, I have nothing there to put a socket on. My washer is a 2016. Mine is just a sleeve but it won't pull off. I saw your needle nose pliers but I couldn't understand what you used them for. Any Insight would be appreciated!

      I was only using the 90 degree needle nose pliers to get under the agitator and trying to use it to pry and pull with out of desperation. That agitator was just too stuck. Thank you for watching, I hope it answered your question. If not, let me know.

    • @kenroberts3909
      @kenroberts3909 Před 2 lety +2

      What did you use the ratchet for? I'm trying to pry it off but as you know, darn near everything is plastic and breaks easily. I've been trying a flat tip screwdriver to pry it up.

    • @junkyyarddawg
      @junkyyarddawg  Před 2 lety +1

      There was a center bolt holding the agitator on, I used the ratchet to take that bolt out, and a common screw driver to pull the cap cover off the bolt hole on the agitator. If I used the ratchet for anything else, it was probably trying to pry 😆

This last time being the most difficult and it just wouldn't release. Not sure if a antiseize would work. Also, have a extra just incase it happens again. Thanks for watching!

    We have a bravo xl. The agitator moves side to side but it does not spin.
    Did changing that part make the machine spin?

    • @junkyyarddawg
      @junkyyarddawg  Před 2 lety +3

      The agitator and the drum should move opposite of each other. When weighted down with wet clothes, it did not spin to full RPM, it made a buzzing sound from the plastic gear teeth slipping. The teeth were stripped. Yours could be so bad that the teeth are not grabbing anymore. There's ways to put it in a test mode and get trouble codes by moving the selector knob a certain pattern. If it's not showing codes, it's most likely this part is stripped.
      My wife thought it was working because it did seem to move side to side, but the spin cycle failed to push the water out of the clothes and towels leaving them really wet.

      @junkyyarddawg  Před 2 lety +1

      Try spraying a penetrating oil inside the hole where you took the bolt out, hopefully let it soak and let the part come off you speak of. It is very stubborn due to rust and corrosion causing it to stay on.

      The clip locks the plastic ring with the splines on it to the steel splined shaft. Keeps it from popping out as backup to the screws I believe.
