Jack of all trades, but master of none! Just tinkering with things to give them a second chance for all to enjoy. Could be a toy car to a real car and everything in between.

If it does it again Ben's Appliances makes a metal replacement parts to replace the plastic junk.
Hello. I did end up getting the kit from Ben's appliance. Unfortunately I may have over torqued the scanner but to the threaded part. I noticed recently our washer not spinning properly again. I took it apart and found the parts threaded part, at the beveled section, had broken to pieces. I ended up ordering a genuine replacement and temporarily installed the plastic set up.
Citric acid and hot water will generally release them.
I think I used ammonia out of desperation. It seems to really clean the corrosion off. I ended up installing the agitator with inti-seize.
Thanks a lot, sir. Was about to take mine to the dealership until I saw this video. Exactly what it was. 10$ and 10 minutes, and I was good to go. Dealership would have charged me probably 500$ BSing around.
Great to hear!
Where do you bought that bracket? For the carb cable ?
It's from a 85 Nissan 720
@@junkyyarddawgthanks
Thanks for the idea of buying separate legs! I never even thought of that! Mine are rusted like yours were, but new ones is a great idea!
I think it's worth it. Plus, the company that sells them is the original US company that originally sold them.
@@junkyyarddawg good to know! Thank you!
You’re an absolute legend sir. Worked like a charm for me. If anyone’s having any trouble with this, use the hand clamp it made life sooo much easier
Glad to hear and thanks for the suggestion.
What kind of tow bar did you use?
I used a kinetic tow rope to pull it about 1000 feet. It was an emergency as we were blocking an entrance ramp and a lane of the highway on the bridge overlooking the Red River on 20. There was a driver in the bus holding the brakes which made it harder to pull as she was afraid the bus would roll backwards then into my truck afterwards.
That is not a sundowner edition. The 1982 to 85 Sundowners came standard with a long bed with 10 tie downs, wall to wall carpet amongst some other things. I know the 77 to 81 models came with that same long bed with 10 tie downs, wall to wall carpet, a 5 speed manual, foe wood above the door cards, and spoke style hub caps. Than the top package was the sundowner sport, which came standard with bucket seats, a center console with a clock and outback desert themed graphics on the outside of the truck as well as everything else being standard equipment as well.
I'm trying to pull mine right now. I don't have the inflatable bag but I've got the next best thing. A 12ga shot gun. About to blast holes in this mf'er. I'm hot as hell right now. Thanks maytag. I find comfort in the fact that others much more patient than myself have nevagated around this issue. I put a rope 2x4 up top and a ton and half hoist across it and got nothing. Great design, 10 out of 10.
Yup real SOB to take off. Each time this has happened, I've had to try different methods, because the method I used prior didn't work again. They sell a metal one now. I bought a kit for it I saw on CZcams.
Cool we got the part number and all that greatness but how in the world did u get it apart?🤣
Hello. Sorry about that. There's really no tools required. You pull up on the cover for the shifter on the console. The cable end and bushing is popped off and on, almost like a hip and socked. Once the bushing is pressed on the cable end and installed on the socket, simply press on the console/shifter cover.
I never knew why the ford hotrodders didnt get a 460 out of an early Lincoln and make some power.
At least for a truck. I guess too expensive. I feel they're making a comeback though. I'm sure this was a low mileage engine too.
@@junkyyarddawg those 68 or so Lincoln 460s made 375 hp I do Believe.
@@davidreed6070 I'm positive you are right. My boss has a 70 460 Lincoln and it has a data plate on the radiator support.
@@junkyyarddawg If a person put a little cam in it and put it in a mustang or the like he would have a good running machine.
My best friend is doing that now. He has one built with heads, cam etc. He was going to put it in a Foxbody notchback.
I swear I think I saw this very truck WITH U-Haul trailer a few minutes ago in a Walmart parking lot in Oklahoma City. Interesting thing is, the frame was resting right on the pavement, so I assume it has hydraulic lifters.
Cool. It was in Minden Louisiana when I saw it. I'm sure it has an air bag suspension. Really neat truck.
1972 and 73 are the years they made these it looks like this is a 73
That's correct 💯
Legend! Just fixed mine!
Sweet!!
351 not 352
The 351 Windsor wasn't made until 1969. The 351 Cleveland wasn't made until 1970. The 352 was made from 1958-1967. It later became the 360, then 390 all the way up to the 428. It's a FE series engine which started at 332 cubic inches.
Counted atleast 15 T5 transmissions on the floor😂
Right?! 😂
Did he had any old gas pumps?
I was looking. Notice I tripped over a white tin on the ground. I flipped it over to make sure it was a vintage sign.
Can you get a man's truck and said that girl truck that Chevrolet
Like my 82 Datsun 720? There is a big block Ford in the back of it right now. Also been using it as a work truck for about 20 years and have pulled an E450 24 passenger bus with a 7.3 diesel, with it over a bridge. Check out the video.
Love. Junkyards
Me too!! Ever since I was old enough to get in one.
Better call Puddin's Fab shop to rescue that red red Datsun truck with the roll bars
Shoot, I'd rescue it myself lol. I have a 82 Datsun, wrong year and style. Puddin likes those 620s though.
Save it 😎😎😎
I have the 67 I'm working on. The sad thing is this convertible is in better shape.
Save the Bonneville
It's a sweet ride!
2002 was a hell of a time
Free phone quality 💀
Yup Early 2011
Where is the yard located at?
It's in Shreveport Louisiana.
Thank you
What did you use for headers
I'll ask the owner. I know he has a Chevy big block in it.
@@junkyyarddawg My father passed away and I inherited his 97 Ranger. I won a 582 BBC that makes 950 on motor and sprays 600 at war in the woods. I use to joke with my dad about making his truck and drag truck. I’d like to make it a reality if I can.
Did ya look in the trunk for the radiator?
The trunk was locked, but I did manage to take a peak through the convertible top. It wasn't in there unfortunately.
In europe this would be restored
I would rather it be in Europe than in the junkyard. I hope to pull off as many parts as I can.
Who does this to a beautiful convertible
Sad but true. Believe it or not, there are two 66 Galaxies, a convertible 352 car and a 4 door 289 car at the other yard closer to my house.
Junk
Those look to be 1966 Tail Lights as the 65 had round tail lights in similar squarish bezels. Regardless, there is a wealth of good parts there to be had.
Interesting. What about the grill? I'm heading back tomorrow and taking a closer look at the engine. They say it's a 352 but I'm starting to think it's a 390 at the very least. From what I read there were no 352 4 barrel engines made in 65 and 66. If it's a 390 or bigger, I am going to buy it, Well, even if it's an older 352 I'll take it. They were rated for good horsepower with a 4 barrel.
So what size socket do I need you talked a lot about the damn motor nobody cares we're worried about the seatbelt so what was the size of the bolt coming from the seat belt I know it was a T something
It's a T45
how are you restoring the legs? I have a similar table im interested in redoing, the top is find but the base needs work and look like how your table legs do.
I ended up buying reproduction legs online from American Chairs. They still sell US made items for Diners etc.
Hi. I have a question. My drive hub was bad too but when I took the wash basket out, the tube that it’s connected to came out with it. What would have caused that?
I saw the 1967 Galaxies being built at the Highland Park Assembly Plant in St .Paul on a class field trip.
That's so cool!!! I saw Butter crust bread being made on a school trip. I like your experience better 😁
Cool Turquoise ring
❤
I had to take my seat out to get to my belt. Also broke two of the back bolts holding the seat in. Rusty pretty much so I had to tap new threads in the floorboard to secure my seat back.
Cool that you were able to fix it, a 30 minute job quick to turn to a long time.
Nice of the old GT CObra to stop over and give you the nod
Как же мне нравятся пикапы, особенно ретро. Завидую в этом американцам, у них такой огромный выбор. В России же с пикапами выбора нет вообще(
ya just use 3 air jacks and slip them under the agitator and pump them its pops off easy dads vibe machine excessive but great vid
Thanks! Yeah I was being excessive with it for sure 😁
Can you swap out the passenger side latch and put it where the driver side is and make it work.
It will be facing the wrong way as far as depressing the release button but I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you latch it to the passenger side from the driver side seat belt and it works. I think there a bell or chime wire for the seatbelt on the driver side if I remember correctly.
thanks for content
Thanks!!!
tell me...what is the clip for???
The clip locks the plastic ring with the splines on it to the steel splined shaft. Keeps it from popping out as backup to the screws I believe.
Love the ride man, nice!
Thanks! It's going to be low budget for sure.

Just happened to mine. I'm using my hand to keep in place until I can get that ordered
I found it at my local AutoZone. I'd do a Google search using that part number and see if you find it local if you haven't already.

I really enjoyed watching your video and I'm going to go try to put my alternator on my 2003 Toyota Toyota Avalon had a few people were going to do it for me today and even though it's after midnight I'm going to go try. I am on my Thanksgiving break and been stuck here at my house since Friday and today is Wednesday tomorrow's Thanksgiving. Thank you for helping your elderly neighbors there needs to be more people like that in this world. Because what you give out comes back to you have a very Happy Thanksgiving
I really appreciate the kind words. The hardest part of fixing something is starting to fix something.
