This is the introduction to the concert. They gave 10 special shows in 2021 to celebrate their first 10 years. It was restricted crowds etc because of the pandemic but they still absolutely nailed it
They say Su-meatal desu, Mometal duse, Yuimetal desu and BABYMETAL desu. Roughly translated desu would be “I am”. Now to make it more metal the crowd says death instead of desu (in most concerts). This is the opening song on their tour this year and I can’t wait to shout BABYMETAL DEATH this September. 🖖❤

Babymetal Death as a an opener is a fun song, especially at metal festivals in the early days, their are always curious metal fans to see what Babymetal is about and what they will deliver. Or think: maybe these kids don't belong at a metal festival... then the opening song is this song. It catches them off-guard. 🙂 The same at for example opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers or the opening shows they did for Korn and Stone Sour tour (Stone Sour is the less known band of Corey Taylor of Slipknot).
And some still say they aren't metal, They are everything a metal band should be. #notacult.

This is a hard and heavy version that was created when the original "Babymetal Death" was broken by the departure of Yuimetal. Now that we have Momometal rounding out the trio, they are performing the original again (slightly modified of course). 🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction - yes that was one of the intros they used at Budokan. 'BABYMETAL Death - Shin version' is an updated version of the first song on the first album - 'BABYMETAL Death'. I don't remember if you have seen and heard that yet.
They have re-introduced the original 'BABYMETAL Death' now that there are three of them again since Momometal was revealed.
In the original there are some lyrics (not many) where they introduce themselves and BABYMETAL. Desu (the U is silent) means I am, you are, he is, she is, it is, we are etc .... there is no TH sound in Japanese, so the English word death sounds to them like desu spoken with a slight lisp. The whole song is a play on words or based on a pun.
As the first song on the first album it was mostly used as the first song in their concerts, all they are doing is introducing themselves (Su-metal desu, Yuimetal desu, Moametal desu and now of course Momometal desu, BABYMETAL desu).
As I don't think you have seen it I think now is the time for you to see how they used 'BABYMETAL Death' as the concert finale for Su-metal's 16th birthday ... look for 'BABYMETAL Death' live at Legend 1997 (and there is a short intro at the start - you can find an English translation in the description - read that first).🤘🦊🤘
