Yes that's Waseem Akram unlike today's bowlers going at 6 an over and acting like its nothing. These bowlers are legends for a reason
teams always looked to survive against him and attack other bowlers, thats probably d reason waqar and saqlain have higher wickets per match ratio than akram. If dey played him like other bowlers then he would have atleast 100 more wickets in ODIs.

Bowling is all about skills, that's why even Sohaib Akhtar has been thrashed sometimes but bowlers like Akram, McGrath, Anderson (test) rearly beaten.

In 2000 pace responsblity was taken by shoaib akhtar and good length swing bowling responsblity taken by wasim akram shoaib used to make batsman scared with his pace and bounce and wasim never allowed to relax batsman in his spell it was deadly combo but somehow i feel 1999 world cup pakistan could have easily won but as we all know those days its difficult to beilive top player honesty frm asia specially in these wasim mohammad azharuddin salim malik these r great cricketer but their honesty is still big question mark

Actually at 140+ ball doesn't swing much.Dale Steyn was an exception though.With the reduction in speed Wasim bhai became more lethal.

In 2001,his age was around 35-36 but still his control, perfect line length..Normally fast bowlers peak is between 18-19 age till 29-30..Normally for fast bowlers it is observed for 10 years they are effective and at their peak but wasim till 37 was in great form after completing 17-18 years of international cricket…bowling around 130 but still not allowing them to open bat..medium pacers must learn regarding line length..Vow ..legend..Love from India

To be honest of my words, we witness many bowlers bringing in their X-factors through their herculean variations to replicate. Like, Bumrah through his unorthodox action, Rashid through his choking style of bowling runup and action which doesn't gives a batsman his comfortable minutes to judge the ball. Or even many like Malinga, Muralitharan, McGrath, Narine, etc. Or even including some greats like Malcolm Marshall, Joel Garner, Curtly Ambrose, Richard Hadlee. They have always been known to choke the best. But what was common in all of them was some expected factors in them that can be think of and strategise accordingly.
And that's where I find Wasim Akram the most unexpected bowler in the cricketing world. You can't simply go out and strategise against him. You have to be random and judge the ball on merit. Because a bowler who uses the new ball to its best effect, be it swing or cutter or even if uses the old patchy ball with some wonderful reverse swings and other variations, then for me, he is the true embodiment of deception, magic or mystery. If India is lucky to be endowed with the batting book Sachin Tendulkar, then Pakistan is blessed to be gifted a bowling Bible, Wasim Akram.
