South Africa vs Pakistan 1st MATCH TOTAL INTERNATIONAL SERIES 1993
South Africa won the toss and elected to field first and got early breakthroughs of Anwar and Raja.
Inzamam then consolidated the innings.Pakistan in the end made a polutary score of 208.
South Africa got a great start from their opening pair of Hudson and Wessels with Hudson scoring a magnificient 93.
Just when it looked like South Africa is gonna cruise to a victory a storm struck in form of Waqar Younis.
Run outs didn't help the cause of the Africans either. In the end Pakistan won a dramatic victory.
    Enjoy.

At his best, before the second injury that curtailed his speed by 15-20km, Waqar was the GREATEST EVER. No doubt in my mind. I struggle to find someone better, more accurate and more destructive than Waqar at his peak-that's why in the first half of his career a very high percentage of his wickets were LBW and bowled. And what was frightening was that he produced prodigious swing at very high speed making him unplayable against even the BEST batsmen of his era.
Waqar's best was better than anybody else's best. No one comes near.

@@malikmuhammadqasimqasim4785 Most lethal between 1989 -1992. From 1992 to 1996 he was still formidable but had lost about 15-20km in his speed. After 1996/1997 he slowly started declining but he was still world class up to 2003.

@@WonderYakworldhe lost his finger in a childhood accident not in 1995!
He had two stress fractures of the back one in 1992 and another a few years later. IMO he had a beautiful bowling action and was statistically one of the best there ever has been. At one point his strike rate in tests was in the 30s, despite his decline he still has the 2nd best SR in test history - remarkable.

Real action starts from 10:45. South Africa needed just 50 runs off 10 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Commentators were saying South Africa almost have won the match. Waqar Younis then came and bowled out 5 batsmen with unplayable deliveries to win the match for Pakistan.

Although I can’t comment about 70’s, 80’s cricket since I only started following the game during the 90’s , the brand of cricket played during those days was amazing to watch. It used to be an equal competition between the bat and the ball unlike today when it is all about keeping the crowd entertained by hitting it out of the park. Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Shaun Pollock, Allan Donald, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, Chaminda Vaas, Muttiah Muralitharan, Heath Streak, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmed were legendary bowlers. Not sure if that caliber of bowlers could be seen in modern cricket.

This was the tri-series between Pakistan, South Africa and West Indies, where Pakistan beat South Africa, South Africa beat West Indies and West Indies beat Pakistan, also Pakistan score lowest total of 43 against West Indies 😂

Attended this match. Some of the most outstanding fast bowling and some sections of the crowd turned very angry and racist when SA lost.
