  • Coming off the heels of an incredible Season 3, Attack on Titan somehow upped the ante and went even crazier in season 4. After the massive reveal of the existence of Marley and Grisha's backstory, I had no idea what to expect coming into this season and I was pleasantly surprised in the best way possible. At the end of season 3, Eren's final words had me wondering what kind of path he'd be going down, since it seemed like he was going to keep moving forward no matter the cost. I thought this mentality would change over time as I didn't think Eren was going to commit the same crimes Marley did but as I watched Season 4, I saw him do...just that. Maybe I haven't watched enough shows but I was truly surprised to see Isayama go down this kind of route with his main character. It's a pretty big risk and could cause people to turn away from the series if it's executed improperly, but Isayama being the masterful writer he is, pulled it off and left me in awe. I can't WAIT to see how this story ends.
Thanks so much for watching this video! If you enjoyed it, feel free to like & subscribe! Have a wonderful day :)

I think AOT not having real villains (except Gross maybe, but he is supposed to resemble us...) is what makes it so different from other shows and therefore way more realistic. Everything that happens in the show is a result of human thinking and emotions (like you said both parties came to the conclusion that the annihilation of the other side is the only way). Every character only has limited vision of what is actually happening, like Gabi, causing them to make wrong decisions and judgments. Eren repeating what Reiner did just emphasizes how people are the same, no matter the nation and ethnic background. This is something neither the people of Marley, nor most people in the real world seem to understand (for example if you look at the conflict around Palestine). The way Isayama presented the attack on Liberio from the perspective of Falco and Gabi was just perfect. It was the first time the viewer was confronted with the question what was righteous, something that completely elevated the plot for me.

S4 got me confused when it first came out. I didn't know what to think at all, there is no good and bad side. I still cannot say exactly which side I am for but man, why did Sasha die...

Eren is not a moral bastion but I side with Eren to end all Titans forever. He was a slave to Ymir's rage. Give her what she wants so that some people can be truly free from her.

One small problem, Marley started the war and their first attack killed 10s to 100s of thousands of deaths. You can not convince me that Erens provoked attack that killed no more then 1000 is the same as the attack on the walls. Yes it sucks that innocent people in Marley died but you don't get to start a war with the targeted deaths of mass innocence and then complain when an attack against you is carried out, especially since eren wasn't targeting Innocent people, he was targeting a lot of military personnel

    No, no... no.
This video is disgusting, just like the disgusting finale which all Ending Apologists champion...
"How could I empathize with these people?" ???
Simple: don't be a disgusting collectivist.
I am not gonna talk about how the ending failed in such disgusting ways, because that's not the point AND because it'd take a lot of time and energy and "you" would just say "nu uh" and feel smart.
"The world is our enemy" means that even those individuals who may be neutral are still influenced, manipulated and victim of all the events set in motion in the past.
THIS is Determinism. "The only way to put an end to the Cycle of Revenge born from hate... is to remove that history of hate from this world and bury it in the ground, civilization and all.".
